Hard to tell without closeups but there really doesn't look like there's much frost on those buds. The sugar leaves seem bare of the rails on EM1. If that's what you're seeing I don't think it's related to the feeding regimen. I'm thinking it's related to the mutant aspect. It could be that these were actually supposed to be autos (i.e. not mislabeled) but the genetics didn't quite work out as the breeder hoped. One turned into a great photo and one turned into a mutant photo!
Either way I'm sure there's enough in there for some sweet edibles. The smoke report comparison is going to be interesting though.
The buds have some frost but all the sugar leaves were basically bare and the buds had a lot of foxtails. I think the mutant aspect had a lot damage to the end result than anticipated.
Smoke report will definitely be the tell all.
But looking at EM1 to EM2 the non mutant really showed her stuff and turned out fantastic! An awesome learning curve for me and I’m peached I was able to get her to the finish line!

My Xmas Bud mutants were super healthy they just grew slower than the normal ones.

Holy smokes I can’t belive the year is almost over! What an exciting year it has been!
I started my first plants and my growing journey in July and what an adventure it has been! I have learned so much and I have gained an incredible new family! All of you here at 420 have taken me in and given me a second home where I proudly love to be!

Now for the update today it’s EM2 final day in the tent. She will be going into a blackout closet for the next 24-48hrs and I will be harvesting Wednesday. This is to do a comparison of before and after a dark period.
EM1.1 got transplanted the other day and man has she exploded with growth ! Happy and healthy here she is!

What’s up everyone! Starting the year off right with the harvest of EM2! I’m excited to finally see this girl come down. After being a faulty Autoflower like her big sister it’s been a long journey to get here with her. At 157days she’s been around for a while!
Being a mislabeled Autoflower was only the beginning for this girl! After being in veg for about 55 days she started showing some mutated leaves. She kept getting worse and more mutated showing some incredible shapes but with very ugly and minimal growth. After thinking about it and talking it over with a few other friends here I decided to cut all the mutated growth off (about 40-50% of the plants tops) and let her go from there. After a slow start in flower and being dwarfed by her big sister EM1 she ended up turning around and starting new healthy growth. She took an extra 10 days to start flowering compared to EM1 but never gave up! I cared for her and gave her the love she needed to get to the finish line! After all the mutations and struggles with EM1 it ended up turning out pretty nice with some decent sized colas! I have already decided to turn her into edibles but I will be taking a few of the best top colas for a smoke report and sample test! I decided to take a wet weight for fun I know it means nothing but I was just curious to see. 427g wet before a wash is much more than I was expecting! Most of the buds are of a decent size. Not nearly as frosty as EM1 but I had also kept her feed to a very minimal. I never fed her bud boosters just the bare essentials the entire way through. She has a very strong pine and lemon scent! She smells quite pleasant. Nothing at all like the smells of EM1 but I’m pleased with her and can’t wait to whip up some potent edibles with her!
Alright enough of me gabbing away let’s have a look at this mutant girl in all of her glory!

Buddy thanks for sharing I had no idea about this . Also congrats on winning the motm title budI removed my mutations only because they were stopping the plant from growing. It was basically all the new growth tips that werent going anywhere. So after removing them all and leaving the lowers it eventually turned around and started to show normal growth. The mutated leaves looked like this:
I wouldn’t remove any growth that’s abnormal unless the rest of the plant is healthy!
Thanks Amy! I appreciate that! I am definitely happy I was able to get her finished and I’m thinking right around 100grams dried as well! I’m happy with that and it will make me some nice potent butter for recipes and some great oil for capsules!
I can’t wait to start EM1.1 off into flower again! I know her well and being my first clone, my first reveg, and my first monster crop I’m pretty excited to see her flower out
and get her to the finish line!

Yes when I first started Seeing the mutated leaves I was like.... what did I doo....
!But it ended up not being me thankfully and as an amazing learning experience! These plants just want to grow and survive and this girl really showed me that.

And yh weeds exactly that. A weed it'll thrive in the most inconvenient if places but when you try to nurture it.. the bastards don't want it lmao... I'm sat in waiting for my pots. In hoping they turn up soon, not tomorrow but an extra day of dry soil won't hurt them

I’ve asked around and a few others have to from the general consensus it was a mutation of sorts caused by genetics? Really unsure but I know it wasn’t anything I did haha! The mutation looked really cool though so I’m glad I got to witness it
A good wet dry cycle is always great for your plants! Helps them send out those additional roots in search of water! Hope your pots arrive soon

Early Miss 1.1
So just wanted to go over a few things with EM1.1 since she’s the last leg of this journal. I will continue this journal until she’s been harvested at which point i will only be running my auto quad journal until I start up the new MarsHydro grow. Which might I add I am extremely excited about!
I will be starting up a full perpetual journal next year with lots of stuff to come!
Now looking at EM1.1 since she was cut off her mom EM1 in week3 of flower she had to go through a reveg. After growing her out and watching the reveg process she is now back to vegging and growing very quickly.
Also since she was cut late in flower she is considered a “monster crop” with extensive branching and growth. Well I can see why they say that! The bottom of her was so densely overgrown I decided to clean her up and strip some of the lower growth off so she can focus more up top.
Now with her tops I have just been bending whenever necessary to keep a flat canopy. I am not doing anything to crazy with her probably just end up tying her down and letting her go. I will be LOLLIPOPing though as I have noticed a significant improvement on EM1 with the LOLLIPOPing. She also is showing a lot of purple in her stems just like her mother which is just beautiful. Can’t wait to get her and the critical girls into flower! About 2 weeks until flip!

As I was burping the jars of EM1 I decided to pull a “B-grade” bud out to snap a few pictures close up. I’ve added a sweet macro lens to my arsenal and it has really turned up my photo game! Can’t wait to test it out more!

I don't clean my 'monster cropping' out till all the new branches get 5-7 nodes in length.. By removing all that flower crap before the branches emerge,, you lose alot of them. Unless you just want a center number... I'm doing a monster crop right now with my Pup. As a rule,, myself,, I don't like revegging a plant unless I have too. It's ALOT of stress on a plant. Probably the most stress you can do to one there is. But it does work. Unless your plant mutates on ya. Hope ya don't mind,, I'm posting a pic,, but here is the toppage that comes from that center buddage that revegged,
