i hope your cloning attempts go well. you may already know and i dont mean to be a neusance if u already know this or if its pretty much elementary, but i read last night that to clone with best results youll want to flush the mother plant first before you cut.

I have read that as well and did try that this time. However I don't think that was the issue though.

I will keep everyone posted on them. I changed the amount of sprayers I had yesterday, so far it looks like it was a good move. If that stuff shows up on these I will take a pic, I have no idea what it was. It was very little and only on the stems.

HMG,

I've had 100% success with clonex and root riot cubes. How do you clone? In an aerocloner? You might want to visit 420fied...I think that's the method he uses. You may find some tips/tricks you haven't thought of.

I think if I can't get the aerocloner to work I will go back to plugs or root riot cubes I can find them locally.

I think to have a good sog run with minimal side branching you need to have a good root system and the only way I can see that is an aerocloner.

Thoughts on that?

I do need to go read his diy thread again. I know that I have a better spray going now with less spray heads. They are looking good so far.

I simply scrape the stalks of my clones and then cut and stick them in a cup of water. After they're all clipped, I dip them in clonex gel, place them in their collars and let them sit for approx 30 minutes to let the Clonex gel permeate the stem of the clone......then I start my sprayers again. I've also gotten good results using no hormone at all. However, I do notice that my root systems are more robust when I use Clonex.

HMG,

I don't know how many plants you want overall...but my current grow of 8 WW all had good roots (clonex + root riot & into 2L hempy mix) in about 15 days...as soon as I saw a little growth at the node, I flipped, they were between 5-6" tall. Now they are between 12-14" and have a bud every inch from bottom to top, no branches...well a couple of the plants have 1 at the very bottom, they are about 1-2" long and have a nice little bud. If you go look at my latest update you'll see what I mean.

Not trying to change your style or anything, but if you had better success with cubes, why go to all the trouble of the aerocloner? It seems more complicated, imo. I couldn't deal with a cloner...so I found another way.

I'm going to shot for 10 or 12 in flower. I would say I probably got lucky the first time or two I did clones. I really don't think the aerocloner is more complicated than any other way IMO.

If you don't mind, why can't you deal with a cloner...even a little bubble cloner?

I'm T2 paraplegic...no trunk muscles or balance. I just didn't want to deal with a resevoir (sp) water changes and all that they entail. My space is small 2'w x 4'd, I can't even get thru the door, just my front forks and feet. I wanted to find a style of growing that I can do, for the most part, all by myself.

Those girls look really happy and healthy...I don't see a problem. I thought you were having trouble rooting.

Speaking of...I clipped 4 clones from my mom on 1-25 and just stuck them into a small glass of water, just to see what happened, I didn't really think they would grow roots, but they have. When I checked today, each has little hairs about 1/4-3/8" at the nodes and the cut end is swollen and bumpy looking. I can't believe they'll make it tho...I haven't done anything to them but add enough water to keep the nodes wet.

I am having trouble getting clones to root. I have got a little time till I need any, but would like to get it figured out so I can go without to much time in between grows.

I'm glad you got clones to root that way. My envoronment needs some tweaking I got a new tent and need anotherr light for the left side above the clones. You can see my little hempy basil and cilantro as well in there.

Have you read any journals by Xare. If I remember he made a bubble cloner with a 2 liter and air stone. From the sounds of it you don't need any kind of cloner.

Before I started this venture with hempy I read Xare's journal from another site and 420fied's 112 SOG journal here. They were very informative.

Ya, I think I've got the clone thing down pretty good. It's simple the way I've been doing it and I can control the timing as I like. KISS definately applies to me. :rofl:

So far every thing seems to be going good. :wood: I was talking with a buddy who looked at pics of the clones and had the same thoughts I had as to the spots on the stems, hard water. So I will be switching that out for some RO water. I will probably add some Clonex solution as well.
