Duggan Does Purple Envy, Star Pupil & Black Cherry Punch With Doc's Gear!

That's funny...I always to a "rough trim" when wet and pull all the large fan leaves at that time but still leave the buds pretty "shaggy", then I do a final trim when dry and just clean up the buds a little, trim down the stalks, etc.

I hear you all 1000% but these folk on IG seemed like it was night and day, one guy said if making extracts you must use dry trim. They had me sold on trying it BUT YOU guys a re selling me back, ha! Yes OL, that was the one. One guy said you could remove 30% of the fans..,,

Duggan said it best, no complaints about how our produce comes out wet trim. If dry is more work, then I'm out for sure.

Thanks guys!

Big night tomorrow...have Mare and my trimmin buddy comin over to help me...yeepa yeepa!
Checked crop today...just now....gonna be ready to jar tomorrow....good thing cuz boys are coming to stay with me for one week (one of MY summer weeks with them) starting Friday so......gotta do it tomorrow. I will have to keep a close eye on the very big colas in the jars, as they will still contain enough moisture to f...k things up.
Enjoy the night gang....

Hey Doogs. I want to pose this question here since you get more traffic, I hope that is ok.

Yesterday on IG I learned about Dry trimming over wet trimming. The consensus over there was dry is much better for flavor and terp retention. So they chop the plant, let dry and then trim. Does anyone here do that? Thoughts?

Dry trimming vs wet trimming?

I thought leaving the leaves on would make the bus smelllike hay but they were saying the opposite.

I used to wet trim. I was talking with Doc in Jamaica and he suggested I try dry trimming. I'm not sure if it was him or I read it somewhere else that the plant is still alive when you wet trim and this causes a response in the plant that makes them smell like hay while they dry. I have since just pulled the fans, washed and hung, I don't even dry trim now. I just throw them in the jar and let them trim themselves. I like that best. I was in a customer's house servicing his AC and spotted the tell tale signs of a grower and I had to say something. We got to talking and he out of the blue asked me how I trim because he said his harvests smelled great when he cut the plant but smelled like hay after trimming wet. I told him what I had learned and suggested he try it. He got ahold of me after his next harvest because he was extremely happy with how it turned out letting them dry 1st. You'd of thought I paid his mortgage off he was so happy and couldn't quit thanking me.

Pop a couple extra bovedas in there. :thumb: They'll hold a few grams of moisture, each. That adds up to a lot in a 1-2 ounce jar.
