Duggan Does Desfran: Destroyer X Destroyer!

Hi duggan

Isn´t your dehum adding heat ?

Yes it is ,but it's not in the same room . I have it downstairs in the family room....it does the whole basement level, where it's always cool. My air intake for the GR is at floor level in the corner,so it's a perfect set up...the exhaust fan/filter suck air in ,thru there and exhaust the "no smell, fresh air" into my workshop. Right now it's 73/76 F. in the GR.Good Q. though .. Cheers.

This weekend im gonna cut some clones off the rare darkness plants and the following weekend ill start supercropping...give em a lil rest between torturings lmao :)
Have a great day Duggs buddy :)

Good day Gang. Last night they got their first Brix spraying and that's all...they look great and are "bushing" very nicely thanks to all the supercropping and LST they've gotten. My GF went to my place today and picked up HER camara for her daughter's grad pics this weekend ,so no pics till I get it back....hopefully.I know she's getting pissed at me cuz I've got it more than her. Oh well ,my plant pics are way more important than her daughter anyhow eh....NOT!:tokin: So that being said ,except for the Brix spraying last night, the plants are very happy, happy in this soil and ,well they are almost maintainance free...nothing to do....no mixing,no grinding,no worries...just happy plants in happy soil!Cheers gang, and have a worry free day.....Duggs.:circle-of-love:

hey duggan, subbing in man. plants look great! you're killing it with the kit. I love those home made oxygen pots too.

Thanks Boogy....ya ,I love em too brotha. They're only homemade as far as making them bigger. The biggest size they are available in ,is 7 gal.....so I just use two of em....open them up...overlap till I like the size, fabricated bigger bottoms out of galv. screen and landscaping cloth and presto ,big pots.Just love em,and so do my plants. It's next to impossible to overwater as well cuz there is just sooo much O2 available ,all the time for the roots. Their brand name is Rootbuilder, and they use them a lot oversees in large grows. They make ,up potting of trees much, much easier cuz all you have to do is cut the tiewraps, unwind them and put another larger one around the plant and fill in with more dirt....done...see why the larger nursery's like em so much?
My GF took her camera back today....Bahhh, or I would post a few more pics showing how nicely they are bushing out.Cheers gang ,and have a great night.:Namaste:

Hi Duggan, You convinced me to give supper cropping a try. I have a couple of young ones that should be ready for a pinch. How young is to young? They are between 5 and 6 nodes and about 20 days old. Thanks

Very nice. I gotta update to smart pots or the root builders myself.

Having used both air pots and smart pots I greatly prefer the smart pots for bottom watering and not having run off water lingering in the saucers. Duggan made a great mod to his pots that allow them to work the same way :high-five:

Hey quick question guys. When you drench, watering from the top do you just let the plant soak up the runoff? Or do you let it strain and then water from the bottom?

I personally fill up my saucers and then water the other half in the top while it's still sucking up from the bottom. There is never anything left after about 15min but I use at least a little less water than each pot could truely hold.

Hey Boogy....good Q bud. A good practice to get in the habbit when watering or drenching is to do it over two or three pours....as slowly as your back will let ya. Doc got me doing this a while back and always do it now.Heres a quik summary of how i do it. When they need a soaking or a good drench....Give each plant just 1/2 ...then go back after and give the other 1/2.Make the first 1/2 just water and then for the last 1/2 put in whatever your giving them that time. Very simple easy and not confusing.I only like to spread it out over two drinks cuz if your dealing with a few plants it can get .....well you know...did she get once ,twice or is she done ? know what i mean? These two drinks can be right after each other...no big deal. It's just important to give the soil a chance to re-moisten ,evenly ,helps alot. Now bottom watering is something different for sure.I don't do it right now cuz my home made saucers(1/16th sheet aluminum made into big "beer caps") just are not deep enough to make it worthwhile. What's nice this way is any run off i get from the holes in the sides of the pots, just gets soaked up real fast anyhow. The rootbuilders bottoms i made are 1/2 inch galv. metal screen w/landscaping cloth lining them to keep the soil from leaching out thru the little squares...the 1/2 stuff is working great and is easy to work with when harvest time comes three times a yr.
I made the decision ,not too long ago to focus my efforts using larger pots....i'm so tired of fu...ing around with small containers. The smaller pot you use the more challenging, time consuming, and far more chance for problems.
I sometimes wonder if people realize how difficult it is to grow in these itty, bitty pots some use? What Doc has done for us and the rest of the growing community is offer us a way to get a great product out of a fairly small container....every time! Like Doc says....it's the people wearing lab coats that designed the soil. It's all proven science ....no guess work any more ....those days are over for me. Just a little fun tweeking now and then, learning along the way.Cheers gang ...gotta grab a Stella.:circle-of-love:

Hey Snoop....thanks for droppin by eh. Ya for sure....20 days old, four nodes....perfect.Right at the top of her....where's it's still fairly green,if ya know what i mean.I'de go down to the second node if they're close ,and do it.Just remember...what we want to do is just slow that top down some....gives the lower tiny branches a shot of GH's. and watch them start to grow. Gently bend over the top ,after you rubbed and squeezed it.Don't try and bend it allll the way so it's pointing down ,OK that 's what some do ,and it snaps.Just at right angles. They will recover really fast if you've done it right...the next day you should see her pointing back up and a noticeable growth spurt in those tiny young branches . If you do snap it ...don't pannick just get some tape and fix her . If you make sure you feel that internal membrane collapse when you squeeze it ...it will be easy to gently bend her over and not hurt her too much. Have fun Snoop....gootta book.!:high-five:
