Duggan Does Desfran: Destroyer X Destroyer!

Sue that's sweet stuff girl...lotsa karma comin youre way. Nice to see, for sure.
Gave the ladies a nice drink a while ago. Back plant is building nicely now. They each (pot) got 4 gal's. each with.1/4 Trans and a bit of tea...that's it. This was the second "just water" drink , so next time they get a drench with GE.
I've stopped rotating them ,actually havn't spun the back one in about a month....just too big.
Have a great night Gang.

I've only been watering once between drenches: GE drench / water / Trans drench / water / repeat.

So duggs....you give the tea with every watering that has trans or ge in it......no matter if its 1/4 strength trans or full strength?

Mornin Major....Ya I just follow directions with this stuff...says water, water, drench, water, water ,drench, etc.Giving a drench right after the previous one is too much ,I would think! Cheers pal.

Yes Nate ...the instructions say give tea with every drench ,with no exceptions. I've bin doing this for over two yrs. now with Doc's. gear and get great results.Cheers pal,and have an awesome day.

Sounds good to me scrubbs and duggs........I guess I always had that question.....when feeding 1/4 trans do you still feed tea? Looks like yep is the answer......thanks guys......

Not me... :thedoubletake:

Oh no.....what's right? Is there a right answer? I remember the conversation on running out of trans when feeding 1/4 strength but never the tea?

I'm sure either way works fine.
I don't do it because it isn't in the instructions. I could run out of Tea - especially if I do a super drench. An outdoor grow is fairly long. I started in mid-April. If they go to mid-October, it will be 6 months and I'm using 150% of the "listed" amounts, like 1.5 oz per drench and 4 ml Tea.

So we have two adept growers faithfully following different patterns in the watering schedule and both getting stellar results? This is the type of thing that a new gardener using the Kit might find confusing. It says a lot about the adaptability of the Kit, but can you understand how one might take pause and wonder which approach might work best? Two years of consistently good results kind of gives Duggan the edge IMO.

Duggan, what made you vary from the standard process to two waterings between drenches?

I'd follow duggan's advice as well. But I think dugg is doing two waterings between feedings. I'm the probable oddball who thinks the instructions say one watering between feedings.

Also, very hard to argue with scrubby's results. Maybe I should quit the 1/4 Trans with my waterings.

My plants are drying out faster under the LEDs, so I'll be doing a few cycles with 2 waterings between drenches. Otherwise I'd be feeding much more often than normal.

And I'm not sure anyone is using Tea with the 1/4 Trans ... just with full drenches.

What's the difference in your drying rates under the LEDs? Have you started doing this yet, or is it something you recently decided would be called for?

In my case, it's probably just raw power. In my former grows I was using a 600W hps, and a 540W LED. Now I've been at 875 watts of LED and just added another 140. The photosynthesis rate is gonna be higher anyway.

I went from 5 days between waterings to barely 4 days. So my drench interval goes from 10 days to 7-8 unless I adjust it. On the one hand they're growing faster and might justify accelerated feedings - on the other hand it's still the same sized plant in the same 6 gallons of soil.
