Duggan Does ACE's A5 Killer Haze & A5 x Panama, Tester Strain, In DBHBB

Speaking of getting em’ going good in 1’s.. if you remember my vegging in 1’s didn’t go so great but I’m doing much better this time.
I’m watering every two days so I know we’re getting close to ready for transplant but the roots aren’t close to rootbound.
I slid the rootball out of the pot and I’m not impressed with the roots yet. How long are you in 1’s for typically Duggan? If I remember correctly you start vegging when your flowering girs have six weeks or so left?

Are you sure the promix is wet enough to hold as much water as it should? Once it drys all the way out it can take a little bit of work to get it to absorb as much water as it should again. I was having this issue on my current flowering plants after letting them get to dried out once.

Easy test for your veg plants next watering use the bucket dunk method and keep them dunked until they won’t float anymore then tilt from side to side till no more water will come out. If it takes days longer till they need rewatered than they have been this is what’s going on. If not then I guess they just really need that much but if they’re not all root bound yet my guess is the promix is to dry to properly hold water :thumb:

Hey Duggan just stopping by to check out the progress on the current batch.

Plants look like the picture of perfection once again :high-five::adore:
Have a great week bud :passitleft:

Thanks Smokey! I use a sprayer to water so I have a good deal of repeatability as it sprays the same way every time. I water in short sessions and I try to water slow enough that no water comes out the bottom until it truly is full. If done right you get this little satisfying puddle that makes me smile a little.
Having said all that, I don’t have much experience with the dunk method so I’ll give it a shot! I watch how often my plants drink on my calendar so it will be a good experiment. Cheers!

Yup me too, I was using a 2 gallon sprayer for lawn care and took time to give each plant a break and another round or two till it would start to run off just a tiny bit. The thing was that the amount of water before it got to the point of the run off wasn’t nearly as much as it should of been because the pro mix got completely dried out and then never rehydrated properly. I was having to water everyday then one day I decided to just keep watering them multiple times to make sure they were for sure saturated suspecting this was what was going on and after that they went back to taking 2-3 days and a significant amount more water before they would run off.

The dunk method is the best to get air in your roots and make sure the soil is fully hydrated. It’s the lack of fresh air that hurts the roots not the water itself.

To do it on veg plants fill up a five gal bucket with your mix if you’re drenching it needs to be stronger than normal as not all of the water gets used. Push the plant as far down in the water as you can with out the water flowing over the top of the pot and hold it there till it no longer wants to float. Water should of broken through the surface by the end and all of the old air has been pushed out and that space replaced with extra water. Now we pull it out and hold it at 45 degrees and let as much water drain out as you can then flip it and do the same for each 4 sides of the pot. The water draining out is pulling that precious fresh air deep in the soil for the roots to burn up till next watering.

The longer it takes and the harder it is to get it to stop floating the more your promix was in a state of not wanting to accept water. If they don’t want to stop floating in a few minutes for one gal pots you found your issue.

Unfortunately this method isn’t really doable with flowering plants for obvious reasons but it’s probably the best thing you can do for your root system :thumb:

:thumb: The dunk is magic @Archiweedies Smokey says it just right! :D You can also pour a little bit of water down the top while it’s in the dunk. Really gets the bubbles going. I’m sure there was some adventurous brixer who had a setup for dunking big pots in flower, I seem to have an image in my head :hmmmm:

Lucky you! There is some fire in those Lani beans and BCP is always a hit. Be sure to give us a smoke report.

Yeah, I need some info on the the Lani.....I know a little about them, but I would like to know how long they take to finish. Pretty excited to have them, that is for sure. I am gonna be getting the BCP wet in a few weeks here...not waiting on that one.

I will give a smoke report later today with my second attempt just to make sure I'm not dreaming.

Well the day before yesterday The girls got their First small dose of Nutes. 2 ml Calmag 11/2 Grow 1 Micro and 1/2 Bloom but the girls are turning a bit yellow any suggestions on the cause here are some pics of the damage.

Hey brother duggs sry to hear bout ur troubles an every1 else as well my best wishes go out to u all an hope things get better soon for u guys.

Question for ya duggs bout ur HB grow since ur the only 1 I know who grows like I do or rather me like you lol. But with the big totes is it better to start in smaller pots then into the big tote or can I jus start them in the 30 gal totes? I just got my new seeds in 2day so I'm thinking of doing an ice cream from paradise seeds and a la sage cbd from th seeds in one tote and then 2 white aliens or 2 white berry's or maybe one of each in the second tote. So jus wondering mainly if I should start in smaller pots or go to final homes right from the start? Any help would greatly be appreciated thanx brother hope ur day goes good :Namaste:

What are the Whit Berry's and who is the breeder?

MajorPITA used to dunk ig pots at one point in time. I do not know about in flower but I believe he was dunking 5s maybe.

Sup Duggs... So sorry been gone for a while, but I am back on track now with a new place to live. Got a grow/greenhouse for my perpetual and an outdoor organic farming area. I got tons of seedlings going mostly veggies, but some cannabis as well. Check it out I think you will see the potential.... Green days to ya, and all the hooligans hangin here lol

Hi Hacks...gang. Hacks...great to hear you are sorted out ....again....:passitleft: Got a few pics to update today. OK..it's been 23 days since flip and 8 since 'bloom' start!
The one 'un topped' A5 Killer Haze at the far back left is looking good. Stretch has been full on these past 10 days or so....wow...i mean streeeeetch! Look at them....sakes....So there is all the 'mains' at one height...and all the secondaries at a lower height....not too bad though ...Still a full garden and a good solid canopy , so yield will still be fairly high.
Anyhow , been busy these days .....hope everyone is doing well and is happy. Cheers gang....all my brothas...and sista's too.....:circle-of-love:
