Duggan - DBHBB With Two Pots - One Kit - Four Plants

I'm counting on the fact that you paid close attention to the sexing of these seeds and going with two females.

I'm voting female, even though...

I did my best using the sexing technique on the 8 seeds I started (4 of each strain). My results were not great: Of the 4 Golden Tigers, I have 1 confirmed female. The other 3 are looking male, but I'm not positive yet. Of the 4 Grape Apes I have 1 confirmed male, 2 confirmed females and 1 TBD. Basically, I have the same mix I might expect from random seed selection. At least I will likely have four plants to finish but it may be 3 GASS and only 1 GT+.

Best of luck, bro! Get out and enjoy your weekends, gang!

Mornin Major, fu..k sakes brotha, that's not good! crappy results....what does this mean for the sexing video? Not good...at least you'le have at least the four you wanted to finish. Four fems but not exactly how you wanted it. Now i'm getting nervous for my MLI's. If they are both males i'm screwed for yield this round , if they are both fems i'm golden.Cheers Major and Gang.Have a great day ....i'm going to mix up my next batch of soil for a re-cook of second run soil , soon to be used as third run with my next four plants that have yet tbd.:circle-of-love:

We need to keep the experiment going. I think there might be validity to it, but we're not completely attuned to it yet. It flies in the face of what we were taught. If we combine this with careful environmental control of the heat factor in germination we might surprise ourselves.

Who else is using this technique? I've been so busy with my work on the concentrated cannabis oil threads and blog that I've neglected my subscriptions, so I'm lost here these days. I'll be starting my next journal soon to get myself ready for planting the day after I get home, which will make my life even busier. :laughtwo: but I'll be back in the swing of things again.

Somebody should be doing a central collection of data on this sexing experiment.

Are you guys aware of the new Gorilla Seeds giveaway? 150 seeds to a random member, but you nominate someone else instead of put your own name in.

Critical Mass Collective Giveaway

We need some HB presence there guys. Make me proud. :circle-of-love:

Time to finally roll out of bed and jump into that shower. The day calls. :hugs:

I wish I had tracked which seed was which. Maybe we'd learn more if we could match the seeds' pictures to the male/female plants. I'm not completely convinced it makes a difference, but my kids got off to a rough start. If stress really makes them lean toward male, that could explain my results. Only 1 plant has been culled so far. It is possible I'll end up with 7/8 female (but doubtful).

There's no doubt stress plays a significant factor, but Major, let's have a little more positivity. :laughtwo: I'm going to keep better track if I use regular seeds. Most of mine are feminized.

Time for breakfast. I'm finally almost completely over the cold. What a rough week. Whew!

Duggan, have a wonderful day. :hugs:

Hey Susan....done girl! Thanks for the heads up about that give away! 116 got my vote! He'l win it, i feel it!
Major, that doesn't sound too bad brotha. Wasn't aware of the temp. stress they all suffered....might still be OK. Cheers and have an awesome day, i'm about to go get more distilled so i can get this mix and re-cook started. Later pal.

I'm glad you are on the mend!

The part about stress that strikes me as weird is this:
Most plants and animals, when stressed, try to insure survival of their species. A male plant can pollinate any number of females. But a female is on its own and is responsible for the next generation through its seeds. It seems to me, in times of stress, nature would tend to favor females. Let a few males pollinate as many females as possible = more seeds = more plants in the following generation. With just a few females and lots of males, there could be a more varied mix of genetics, but with much fewer plants to insure success. Dunno - just thinking out loud.

A provocative thought Major, particularly when we're dealing with a species that has self-pollinating potential.

Soil is all mixed up as per Doc's. special instructions. sitting in my two totes for a long 7-10 weeks.Room is at 70F. best i can do. Seems to work OK. Sue, i wasn't aware of your cold. Hope you are better. I'm hoping the MLI's will show sex in the next few days...would be nice.
Can someone put up a link for me to those special LED protection sunglasses. My eyes are only getting worse, so don't want to contribute to it.
They got a good drink last night with 4 gal's each pot with 1/4 Trans, and a bit of Tea. I always like seeing them respond after a nice drink. Last drink was 7 days ago...they showed no slowing down, but i knew it was time. cheers gang and have an awesome night.:Namaste:
Ah ....what the heck....here's an MK-Ultra from one of the three grows i did of it.

Excellent - always thinking ahead! How much did you make - the usual amount?
I just had a few puffs and an Alphadelic so I'm doin' great. I highly recommend it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Oh, forgot to mention ...Got a nice letter two days ago from ....ya baby....UK Female seeds....Jim is awesome. He thru in some freebees along with the 6 Fem Kosher Kush seeds that "those people" stole from me. I'm glad i can finally get a chance to grow some KK...it has won sooo many awards...a proven strain and in our soil it should do very well. Next crop will have at least two in it. Not sure of the other two yet...maybe throw in a zamadelica+ and another MLI...:scratchinghead: Cheers eh!

Ya Major , the usual amount bud....enough for two 26 gal. pots. I always have to add a little of a previous grow (spare soil from an old Kit grow) about 5 gal's. extra, total, cuz one kit's worth doesn't quite fill the two 26ers to the top. it's cooking and it was nice that i had some OG Drench here...(from my "Angel" purchase from Doc). Each tote got 2 gal's of it mixed in after it got to the totes...in layers to make sure i was able to mix it good enough. Anyhow , thanks for asking Major. Cheers....where's my Stella...ah yes , the fridge.:high-five:

Just noticed in the two pics of the MK-Ultra and the Mazar...the "landrace" strain still looks very green and healthy(Mazar) while the "frankenstrain" (MK-Ultra) is fading...how bout that eh Gang.......but we knew that already , right.

Duggan, I needed to get the word out to this crew, and since they all come to watch your magic I figured this was a good place to do so. I've started a new journal. It's early, but I have to rethink the whole process and I need help with that. Now I have a home again. *Sigh* I'd be pleased as punch to have you stop by from time to time. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:
