Day 42 - Day 10 flower

Hey guys so after the recent mishap of the no water to the plant I had made discoveries that a few leaves had been burnt due to lack of water/moisture :(. Should I clip these leaves off or keep them on the plant until defoliation?

I am trimming everything under the screen tonight so I don't stress the plant to its maximum when defoliation of the upper half begins.

Also KJC When you said defoliation again at 45 is that from seed or should I wait until Days 22-25 in flower to defoliate.

My pH up/down kit has arrived and I have begun flush with a ph of 6.0-6.5 to get my soil back on track.

Defoliation can be done any time in vegetative growth after the plants begin to grow fast, enough time must be given to let the plants recover. Defoliation in flowering is done at days 21-25 when the stretch phase has ended and again at day 45. I remove the lower growth and anything that will not produce due to low light and any fan leaves that block bud sites. you can cut the portions of your damaged leaves off. there is a sub forum for Deep Water Culture on 420Magazine.

Thanks KJC when I defoliate at day 21-25 should I wait until then to remove all below screen as well?
 
Looking great. I defol as and when myself lol. But yeah if your following a schedule then clear the under growth at this point also. Best of buds to ya!

Thanks for dropping by again LA. I'm going to stick to my day 21-25 of flowering schedule to defoliate the entire lot.
It'll be a lot of work but in turn it will reward me the fruits of my labor!
 
Day 44 - Day 12 flower

Still waiting for my FF Trio nutrients, not too thrilled about it but was promised this coming week. Plants are doing very well, I did some trimming under the screen although I did not remove a whole lot. They are still on the stretch phase and cannot wait until it gets done because these ladies, are getting some damn nice legs on them.

Day 48 - Day 16 flowering

Well the FF nutes finally showed up and they got their first feeding tonight. Starting to see some bud formation on them and looking forward to defoliation. My next update will be defoliation night, thanks for havin a look guys!

Thanks LA, they are looking mighty well. The vert growth is sitting about perfect but sitll have 8-9 days of stretch left so hope they are almost done or else I'll have to remove the Yoyo ratchets and attach the light directly to the frame to give me that extra 2-3 inches, as it stands every inch counts!

When I started I start bottom to top, but quickly realized that I should start top to bottom so I can see which fan leaves are blocking the light from some of the lower shoots. I also ended up clearing 80% of the fan leaves on main colas as well to help the light reach the bottom buds on the colas so hopefully I have a monster of a cola on each one. When I got down to the screen I picked every bud site off that was not going to produce at all due to low lighting after defoliation ( too far down ) and anything that was sucking energy out of the plant i.e all the budsites below the screen. Every part of it is now gone, I did clone a few of my cuttings from colas that were not going to make it above the screen and those will go to good homes or I will keep them for my next round. Being that I took clones this late into flower I just chopped the flower part off the clone to help it get back into reveg state and kick off quicker. Nothing goes to waste, all to hash! I too am very very excited for the harvest as this will clearly be my best one of all, must be because of the folks around here at 420! Lots of useful information here buddy, I've used many forums and 420 has been the most helpful in many different ways.

I will be making hash tonight out of the trimmings I got and I have some more trimmings from my Pineapple express / Northern Lights / Blueberry autos this summer. So it should be a nice little batch of hash :).

Will take photos and post up of course, it'll be nice to have some smoke I can make rather then keep rationing whats left from my previous one! Only 6 more weeks, only 6 more weeks I keep telling my self haha.

Day 56 - Day 24 flower

Amazing growth has come back in 2-3 days, so far so good! Although, something odd is going with 2-3 colas.

They seem to be ... not producing bud, I mean there lower shoots are producing but the top of it, not so much almost stuck as if it seems. I took a few pics, pic 1 shows 1 cola, pic 2 shows 2nd cola with regular cola on the right. Really odd....Do I waste my time with them or should I clip the top off and save for hash at end? Also 1 small cola about 4-5" above net is barely even supporting bud growth, has already fallen over :O , not a very big stem on her, but these buds are tight. :D

Anyway. things are going well I got the light up about 10-12" away from them so should give better light to side plants as well.

Thanks for your input and looking forward to thoughts on these odd colas, maybe genetic issue? idk, stumped.

Pretty stumped on it honestly, there's 4 of them to be exact. The top of them just ... won't produce, yet the buds below them on the same cola are producing as normal. Unsure on what to do with these girls, lop em for waisted energy at day 45? or lop em now?
