I've never revegged a plant that was previously trained flat before; I've done a few cut short. It seems like if you did it right it would be like a bunch of small plants growing off of nodal intersections. That should be interesting to see how it grows out. That Kali has me inspired. Maybe I'll add my Reserva Privada Tora Bora fem seed to my next grow and make it 5 plants instead of 4. :)

Answer: I do not know if the loud grunt was needed but it occurred due to the piercing pain from the hernia as the pickle and onions disintegrated into a sticky mist that covered myself and the racket.
