Dr. Cannabi's Kali Mist - DIY Organic Soil - Medical Grow & Show

Hello my beautiful friends. I just got home from work and am looking forward to my first 2 days off in what seems like forever. I feel like I'm paying a heavy price to make the $$$. I was happier just paying the bills LOL! This is temporary though so i always have that carrot dangling.

The Hawaiian Snow #1 is done so it will be getting the chop this weekend. I'll be sure to take some pics. It is one frosty plant. I clipped a couple test buds last weekend and the smells are not unique at all. It does smell lovely though. It's almost a total haze smell, but when you break it up it smells a lot like island sweet skunk.

Here's a couple pics of the test branch I've been smoking on:

Woooah Doc: nice buds there buddy~!! Yeah u right.

Hey just a side note there Doc - in my state they just voted on Medical Cannabis complete with trackers on the growers and the patients 24/7. Pffft yeah and growing without a license is a misdemeanor, I'm most excellent with the misdemeanor part. Which to me = canna corporations tracking down growers and reporting them to police to confiscate grows.... it's not a law YET but it's getting close. Ah well, pretty early yet for me, I'm just going to stay stealthy and smart, keep my head down and keep on keepin it green my friend, just like you.

Sorry to say I'm going to have to keep my day job just a little while longer. Not complaining I'm very happy working every day and it's a privilege to do so knowing there's sooo many folks in dire straights and worse. I look to the sky and thank my lucky stars. It may not be my shang-gra-la yet but at least I'm heading in the right direction thanks to you Doc and many friends here on 420mag.

Told Doc I would post some pix of the DIY worm farm, no till bed on wheels, and DIY LEDs .. Been really busy and used to a different site but here it is none the less, think i found how to navigate, hope some of your awesome friends can benefit, doc, I know we all miss the lady beasts!!
Cheers..

Here's a side shot of the no till bed on wheels. More to come but they disappeared on me, lol. Still figuring the multiple upload out guys!
You can see the spacing of the 2x4 wood slits, allowing for air flow..
Covered that up with smart pot fabric so it can breathe without spilling ols.
The bottom red tray is plywood cut to fit, then taped up in vapour seal tape.

The entire wooden cage comes off the red tray, its separate and floats/sits inside it nicely thanks to the railing made of 2x2.
Then the castors on the bottom allow for easy swivelling at any time..
It's a 44 gallon bed btw, 2x3ft by one foot deep.
I believe for from seed I will build one that is deeper next.
Much love!

Sorry its not all one post guys, lol. the pc be taking my pics and twisting them lol.

Here she is with no topdress and no mulch, fresh after some clones were transplanted with myco.
What a familia!

Any questions, I'd be happy to help.. I know Doc would do the same.
He all about the sharing, progress and teamwork.

Nice set up DonTe & very pretty healthy plants. :Namaste:

Thank you my NorCal friend.
The no till beds are interesting for sure..

But I forgot the DIY LED shots! Lol

Made out of white metal wall heater shells, from the local hardware store..
Some easy to install fans that cost $5 on sale
image25990.jpg

2 Vero cobs clipped in, totalling 120 true watts per panel
Drill the Black adomized aluminum heatsink
Clip in thevMeanwell drivers
And make the mounting cables

That was grossly oversimplified due to some token expiration issue lol.

Allow me to fill in a couple gaps, friends..

I ran out of time to edit that post, you see..
I wanted to show whoever curious how the mounting hardware worked and how cables were made..
You can use chain and quick links or cable and aluminum sleeves to make your hanging mechanism.
Both are easy and cost effective.

image25998.jpg

Here she is lying face down with her fan up in the air.. Note the simple layout with just one fan cooling the whole sink, halfway between both cobs. Not one solder point on this whole panel!

image25997.jpg

Most effective in teams, here's our first little army of DIY prototypes ..

image25995.jpg

The best part is, they are easy to manage.. Clip on or off with a flick of a switch..
Great for when watering if your electrical panel is outside the room.
eBay special right here..
image26007.jpg

A beautiful, clean look when sleeping.. Surprisingly bright and deep penetration from this warm 4000k spectrum tho. Don't ever look at them, when on! Lol

image26008.jpg

Best part is tho, they get better with age, not worse.. The efficiency will actually rise over time due to how soft they're being run, vs dissipating 10% a crop like some or almost àll other lights, so here's to the next decade of DIY! Total cost, just 1.83 per month over the next 120 months..

The next design will be even more potent, at only 1.04 per month per light in build-cost.. Those due for public unveil in a couple months..

Hope you enjoy!
I know I left some gaps,
But if you got motivated it was worth it! Links available to where my bro and I orchestrated these builds with the help of some of the best DIy LeD teachers in the US..
Respect to the pioneers,
DonTe!

Now I got it Don.

Hey every single one of you awesome growers and beautiful people! I'm still alive hehehe!!! :cheertwo:

I apologize to you all for taking so long to get back, but work and family take precedence. Both have been extremely demanding on me lately. Hopefully I'll get some relief soon.

I harvested the Hawaiian Snow and Kali Mist. I have final number from those and some rudimentary smoke reports. This was a VERY disappointing grow for many reasons. I can tell you that as a connoisseur, I'm not impressed by the Kali Mist or the Hawaiian Snow. After growing MSH and WiFi, KM and HS just seem boring. For 14+ weeks and a small yield, Kali is nothing special unless you love Thai weed. It is Thai weed all the way. The HS is just a haze. It's no where near the MSH and the harvest was super low.

Final numbers were just under 17 oz. I'm definitely not happy with those. I contribute it to many factors. I was working a lot and we had a death in the family, I started a new soil and feeding regimen. I also have a new light. That's a lot of obstacles to overcome in one grow. It may improve with a good cure but I don't have very high hopes.

I'm super sorry that I was unable to snap pics the last few weeks, but I was lucky just to get it trimmed and harvested with all that was going on. All that said the plants were very healthy through harvest so I know it wasn't poor conditions.

This grow started mid November 2014, I'm extremely unimpressed with this 7+month grow. I'm not sure if there was 1 or many culprits to blame, but these were healthy plants and nothing about this grow is worth writing home about.

Here's the pics of finished buds minus the 4 oz. I gave my patient. I hung the plants whole and dry trimmed them. I'll never do that again. What a PAIN!

Kali Mist #8 My favorite of the grow and maybe worth a second look. Spicy smells and flavors...

Kali Mist #3 Smells and tastes like hay, hardest nugs, lowest yield.

Kali Mist #5 Biggest yielder, and it smells great, but the flavor and potency isn't quite there.

You're a beast, doc!! The fact you take care of all your people so well let alone ladies, is amazing.. You're the Lemieux of Organics man..
Never mind overcoming all that in one round and still holding it down.
You will find the meanest genetics now and have a lot of steam for your next round.. I hope you can create few strains of your own alongside us over the next few years..
We all can hardly wait and will keep rooting for you.. Don't worry we know it won't be overnight ..
Most things worth fighting for get harder before they get easier..
That said much of the hardest work is the thinking and you've done it already..
Just to set up the environment one more time..
For all our sake, One more time..!!
Hope u didnt mind all the pics here, it was just for the cause, na mean, ur peeps are good.
okay, then, Take care pimp..

Hey Doc - welcome back and nice buds there buddy!! Looks pretty good to me.. 17oz ain't nothing to sneeze about but 7 months is a loooong time there. Given that I can see why you would be a bit disappointed, that's a lot of time invested. But still not a bad yield all things considered. Go back to what works Wifi, eh??

Cheers

:bump:
Hey Doc :)
Thanks for popping back in for the end update! Just remember even if ya don't grow again for a while, were always gonna be here a waiting for your return. Your a top bloke my friend and your presence is soarly missed. Best vibes to you and yours as ever!!!!

Thanks All for the Awesome kind words and support. This is hard for me to do but I really have to move on. Mrscannabi is already working me to get the tent out of the garage LOL! Holy Moly that lady has stamina hehehe! This post will conclude this journal and my final grow in 2015. I hope to be back with you very soon!

Here are the final numbers of my final journal. I really hope you're all here when I get to grow again.

FINAL NUMBERS: Kali Mist & Hawaiian Snow 2014-2015

Hawaiian Snow #1: - Greenhouse seeds - Feminized
13.5 grams
Smells like haze and tastes like haze but both the smell and the taste are a little sour. The high is nice and sativa all the way but the duration only lasts 45-60 minutes.

A027_-_20150602_203030.jpg

Hawaiian Snow #2: - Greenhouse seeds - Feminized
56 grams
Smells and tastes identical to HS1 but it has a little beaver smell to it LOL! The high also lasts a good 2-3 hours. It's smooth and hits instantly. Good weed. I like it a lot, but I was expecting more yield wise. I'd like to try it again some day.

A029_-_20150602_203130.jpg

Kali Mist #3 - Serious seeds - Regular
99 grams
Smells and tastes like hay. Its horrible. I'd give a smoke report but this stuff is going to need to sit a few weeks before I touch it again LOL! Sh!t is nasty. This was the healthiest plant of the KMs and it was organic so I can only guess that this was a total fluke as the other 2 turned out pretty nice. I assure you this would be on the bottom shelf of any medical dispensary in WA. This is all going into the edibles bin :)!

Kali Mist #5 - Serious seeds - Regular
175 grams
This is good weed but the buds are WAY too airy. Not sure what's up with that but I've never seen buds this airy. Smell, taste, and potency are all there, and the total weight was a little over 6 oz, so I don't have too much to complain about. Would have liked to have seen solid nugs and 8 oz.

The smell is 70s Thai all the way. I have no better way of describing it. It's total sativa with spicy and herbal aromas. A true treat. The high lasts a long time! This is really good sativa.

Kali Mist #8 - Serious seeds - Regular
145 Grams
This is my favorite Pheno of KM. It has everything I look for in a sativa. If it was at the dispensary it would command $12/gram. Unfortunately it started growing female pollen sacks (also known an nanners) in the last couple weeks of flower. Nothing got seeded but this this had FPS on every bud. Environment was perfect but I did leave the light on overnight a couple times. Non the less. It grew a SHE!T load of nanners.

It smells like Thai weed mixed with sweet earthiness. It's got a very pleasant and faint pine scent as well. The smoke is already smooth and there is no excitement what so ever. It's a definite creeper and it takes a good 20 minutes to feel the effects. When I feel it I instantly start to smile. Very happy weeds.

My only regret is that I grew anything other than WiFi LOL! I'll be hanging around and drooling on your crops :)!
