Dr. Cannabi's Kali Mist - DIY Organic Soil - Medical Grow & Show

I'll be working on some kinda schedule.

Excellent CO, I'll be keeping an eye out for that. :thanks:

There should be a 420 Magazine cup :)

Scrubby you are on to something there. Can we have it in Seattle LOL!!! I'd love to be a judge hehehe (smoke all your guys killer buds). I have to wonder after smoking 20+ varieties in a day, how can someone actually tell what is better? Taste has to be just as important to a judge because I'd imagine you'd be just absolutely wasted during the entire process. Now I seriously am wondering how that works???? :volcano-smiley::volcano-smiley::volcano-smiley: What did you think of that one? Huh? What? did you say something LOL!

Happy Tuesday scrubby!

I like your thinking Scrubby:)....that would be cool as hell:)

The 1st Annual :420:Cannabis Cup.......yeah man....i like it :)

Sign me up GD!!! :cheertwo:

We could take turns acting like we could actually tell the difference LOL. Those first 14 samples were killer but number 15 and 25 really stood out to me. I think those are one hitters LOL!!!

I've just convinced myself that no human being can effectively "Judge" marijuana unless it's over the period of a month. How many times have you tried a new bud and loved it just to give it away or ignore it after the honeymoon?

I'd love to hear from a judge of how they can honestly rate strains for the high when they are smoking all day. What if a strain is a creeper and the high doesn't fully bloom until 30 minutes in? Then you take a hit of something else and it compounds it's high with the creeper??? They must rate on many facets.

I'm in total OCD mode now. I should never :420: before medicating LOL!!!

:Namaste:

hahahaha I love your OCD doc. Yeah whenever I judge a strain, I keep changing my mind over the next month how good it is, how are cannabis cup judges supposed to have integrity when even they don't know what they like best?? a headscratcher if ever there's been one  please 420 magazine while medicated, (like me) hahaha it's always entertaining. Sometimes it even leads to good info - whoever says you can't use weed and be productive obviously never has grown good weed. ;)

All your plants are looking awesome, you're someone to watch here definitely doc! Keep up the great work and shares!

Thank you for the nice words soilgirl! :thanks:

I think we've solved the problem. For now on marijuana cups should be held for no less than 1 month lol.

Honestly, I have buds left from every grow since my first and the only two I smoke regularly are WiFi (3 grows ago) and the MSH I just grew. I'll never give a strain a rating above 8.5 anymore unless I've been with it for at least a month.

Only the WiFi has been a long lasting friendship. I'm hoping the MSH will join her.

Happy Tuesday! :high-five:

I am glad you like them.....those links shoulld be there when ever you are ready:)

Morning GD,

Do you know if they ever did the second video with final weights and results? The spider 1200 seems like a great light. That footprint is absolutely genius.

Did you get your side lights yet?

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Daze Doc:).....i dont think they finished the second video yet as it is a current grow, but i will email the owner and ask him if it has been updated yet....i am glad you asked as i had forgot:)lol......no i havent got my side lights yet:(......i am on pins and needles though:)lol
Yeah i love the footprint....so even.....and then the adjustable bars side to side and even can angle them.....i like them for sure.....did you take a look at the par readings and footprint pictures on thier sight:).....that really excited me:)lol anyway i hope you are having a great day Doc:)

I sure did. I was more surprised by the differences in PAR readings amongst the different double ended 1000w HPS brands in the video.

Their PAR readings are impressive for sure. 1 thing I'm wondering is that they recommend 12" above the canopy as the hanging distance. I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure if I hung my GOD Budmaster 12"from the canopy, my plants would be bleached and fried. Recommended hanging distance of the Budmaster is "The top of the tent". That's where mines been since I installed it. There must be some differences in the optics or some other facit in not aware of.

Happy Wednesday GD! :high-five:

He he! :) the actual model of diode used by BM is a very guarded secret! Paul spent a shed load of money finding the precise one. The other companies using Osrams are all using the equivalent or close as, to the OD mid range of BM.
Now I'm lucky to have every level of cluster from them and the difference is remarkable lol. The XG is good and I got good results. The OD simply have a touch more power and slightly better coloring. Then we have the GOD!!! Its like night and day!! no comparison whatsoever.
the GOD are simply ridiculous!! (again Ive contacted every single sponsor or manufacturer of light, challenging them to put up a lamp against my1200 GOD for a side by side!) EVERYONE runs scared! :)

Thank you LA! :thanks:

I knew as soon as I plugged mine in that it was something very VERY different. The coolest thing about the video is that they proved my CLW SolarStorm and the Blackdog weren't even in the ballpark. The non-paid reviewer referred to them as Hobbyist lights LOL. I just pulled 8.68 OZ from a single plant from LED hobbyist lights in a 2x3 footprint. I'm more excited than ever to get the girls under the BM with a 12x12 light schedule. Now if I only knew which ones were girls LOL!

LA, my mind just jumped the track. When we practice LST and HST all the focus is on spreading the top of the canopy for direct overhead lights right? Come to think of it, none of the commercial grows I've seen incorporate side lighting. There may be some, but I haven't seen them. I'm wondering if there have been studies done on additional side-lighting when used in an already optimum light condition. Not a CFL, consumer LED or standard HID/LED grow, but when using these BM GOD lights, is there "really" a justification for additional side lighting?

Oh man, now I'm in overdrive LOL :circle-of-love:

Re: Dr. Cannabi's Kali Quick Update!

I planted the Hawaiian Snow seedlings in their forever home (15 Gallon Awesome Pot). I also got the message from the rest of the Kali Mist seedlings that I can finally relax. They are going to be just fine! :cheertwo:

So far I'm MORE than impressed with the KIS Organics customer support and their Nutrient Pack. Everything I've planted in that soil just rocks!! I seriously floundered through the entire mix and cook process but I feel my efforts will pay off big time in the long run.

Dr, you ever try bottom feeding? I do that when I transplant into the final pots. The roots sense the water at the bottom of the pot and seem to scream their way down, thus establishing themselves really quick. Just something us high brix users do :)
B E A Utiful garden by the way! Have a great day bro :)

On a side note, im going for my "card" and personal production license today! 16 plants going in pots legally in a month from now :) Great times (and a journal) forthcoming :)

Your plants look so happy.
Very awesome stuff. how long does it take to make the soil as I'm very interested.

Thank you so much Dusty!

Making the organic soil is much easier than how I made it. I learned so much in the process. I think with what I've learned I could mix 30 gallons of soil in an hour (two at the most).

Cooking it so it won't burn your plants takes between 15 - 30 days depending on technique. I've never known anyone that's ever gone back to bottled nutes or hydro once they've experienced growing in organic living soil. It's recyclable and once your initial investment had been made, it costs just pennies to grow an entire crop.

Happy Thursday Dusty...

To answer your questions :)
LST etc is applied for a number of reasons, mainly for me for the sharing of the plants markers that label the main dominant colas! :) Get that even canopy and an even plant structure (hence fluxing) and you get all colas thinking they're dominant. So a nice even set of sites.
Also of course for light penetration etc , yet onto the side lighting bit. Ill soon be able to tell ya lol :)

Yet in my experience Ill be firing them down to the very bottom foliage, under a big canopy. As ill be running the first as a normal dirt run Ill be able to go for 2ft + colas. This should bring the strips in nicely.

Gardens looking great also :) :)

great root development Dr. Your tent will be overflowing :high-five:

Morning GD! I'll only be finishing 6 pots in there. I'm going to flower only the best females of the Kali. The WiFi and the Hawaiian Snow will also have a pot. I'm getting nervous because they're going to be crowded in there is they don't show their gender soon.

Awesome news scrubby and thank you for the kind words! I'll be the first to subscribe to your journal. The high brix stuff is very cool and interesting.

I do normally bottom feed after a transplant as well. But recently I stopped watering in transplants. I just get the soul to field capacity and plant. At the first sign they need water, I'll water them from the bottom and dump a solo cup on the top to be safe. From then on, it's all top hand watering and AACT teas.

I'm excited for you scrubby! What are you going to grow? Have you decided yet?

:peace::Namaste::high-five:
