Thanks Jgrow!!

I'm glad you found it entertaining. There's a whole bunch of us growing in Doc Buds high brix soil system...it is the real deal....not the only method out there, but it is legitimate and the buds are top shelf, hands down.

The knowledge and support on here is vast....and we all have our little techniques and ways to do things...

You got any questions...ask away...some real knowledgeable folk stroll through here once and a while.

Update time!

Ok gave the bloomers a great big GE drench, mixed 1/2 tsp of tea in 8 gallons, I usually wait 20 mins to let the tea bloom, then I add 1oz of GE and 1 1/2 tsp of TP(25%). Feed evenly to all 4 plants. Hoping to bulk up the flowers.

The veggie girls are on 14 days, and still no drink since transplant!!! They will be ready tonight for one. Then another week or two til I flip them. They are responding nicely to the topping I gave them 5 days ago, starting to get bushy.

Have a great Monday everyone!

I'm way behind....such beautiful plants and terrific pics.... :bravo:

Re: DopyLemontree's DocBud High Brix Soil Blend - Headband OG & Bubblegum Combo Grow

I just noticed you use Transplant with your GE drenches. What do you think it does by adding and do you think you can tell a difference than when you didn't use TP w GE, just curious...

Thanks Shawnee! Doc's method gets such great results, and each grow gets better. The Bubblegums together yielded just under 12oz dried and cured! I love taking the pics, these phone cameras have come along way!

Hi CK

Here is where I got the tip...in Doc's instructions: see below

"Transplant: Should be used during the bloom phase alternating with Growth Energy. It is also used at
.5 to 1 mil per gallon of soil. Some growers have found that essential oil and resin production can be increased by using 1/4 oz of Transplant per 5 gallons of water evenly distributed to every plant with each and every watering....whether with a drench or with just plain water. Please note, this does not mean ¼ oz TO EVERY PLANT, but 1/4 oz into 5 gallons of water."

Some stuff I experiment on my own, and some stuff I just take Doc's word on. If he takes the time to write it down, I believe it's worth trying. I have not done a side by side, to test this though....maybe someone else has done this already.

One of my habits I do when I read something posted by Doc or anyone else for that matter, that contains knowledge, an experience, or any tip....I screen shot it in my phone. Then once a week I look at those photos and record by hand the info in my three ring binder. I find by reading the info, doing a screen shot, rereading the info later, and then physically writing the info in an organized manner in my binder helps me remember it, and gives me quick access to it for future reference....which I do often.

Sometimes it the smallest little things that Doc points out that all add up to a huge difference.

And make no mistake about it, it is a continual learning process...

Cheers!

I love the screen shot method... I do the same and then copy down into my written journal.

I guess I just missed reading the instructions a tad because I never saw that 1/4 trans with a drench part I'll have to give it a try here soon!

We are on the same track CK! Awesome!
I've read those instructions hundreds of times and I still find things I missed or didn't interpret correctly. My learning process! Ha

Speaking of that, I need to probably go read over them again a time or two because like you said, always finding things you missed haha. There's more valuable info that I potentially missed lol

Re: DopyLemontree's DocBud High Brix Soil Blend - Headband OG & Bubblegum Combo Grow

Hello and welcome back!

Ok....first it's time to transplant some of the clones. I only need a couple of each cultivar, and will just keep them vegging like mother plants, as I have new seeds to start for the next run. I want to keep these genetic for the time being unless I find something I like better. So into the soil they will go...6 total...2 Blue Dream, 2 Sour OG (aka Headband), and 2 Bubblegum.

Note that some of these clones have just the beginning of roots forming...let's see how well they do or don't do when put into soil, compared to the ones that have more roots formed.

420-magazine-mobile1398887248.jpg
420-magazine-mobile283016311.jpg

The winner....an OG!
420-magazine-mobile869593423.jpg

I roll out my cooked soil, note it is more than 2 months old or been cooking.

420-magazine-mobile376916073.jpg
420-magazine-mobile1305130775.jpg

Open it up and top 1" is dry, but under is nice and damp...not wet, but earthy smelling dampness. Holds a shape when squeezed, but crumbles easily when touched.
420-magazine-mobile1054883588.jpg

I set up the 1 gal pots, fill loosely with soil, leaving a hole in the center, dust with Doc Buds Roots! powder to inoculate the root zone.
420-magazine-mobile379304882.jpg

Then I take the cones one by one, dust the roots with Roots! powder and lightly back fill with more soil, and water.
420-magazine-mobile415121800.jpg

This Bubblegum roots are just starting emerge, we will watch this one to see how it does.
420-magazine-mobile1397033633.jpg
420-magazine-mobile2133247517.jpg

Then I move them under some t5 lights
420-magazine-mobile946618717.jpg

I'll keep these clones in the cloner, until I'm sure the one I transplanted don't die.

420-magazine-mobile2011583981.jpg

In the flower room, the OG's are ready for a drench. I top dressed 2 Tbsp of Epsoms, and fed a OG drench to both Sour OG's. (They are salt lovers) They are each in 15 gal pots, so that's 30 gals of soil total. Here's the mixing recipe for that much soil....3.5 gals of RO h20, mixed in 3ml of tea, let that sit for 10 mins, then add 30 ml of OG drench, and 7.5 ml of transplant (25%). I mix it up good and 2/3 goes on top the other 1/3 goes in the saucer.

420-magazine-mobile892614904.jpg

Here is the other three in the flower room, BG and 2 BD's. They are in a different schedule as of now, but they might all synch again if I have my way.

420-magazine-mobile89371448.jpg

Look at the difference between the sativa dominant BD node spacing....long
420-magazine-mobile1763512032.jpg

And the indica dominant bubblegum node spacing...short

Great times in the grow room!

Signing off!

DL, I've read that so many time and never did I interpret it that way. It is the "weather it be a Drench or just water" part that I did. I just left out the Drench. I've been adding it to the water but not my GE. I think when I get a side by side I'll do 3 plants and see how the go. Where one plant gets no trans, trans in water and transplant in everyone. That could be interesting. Thanks DL!!

Yeah that's a cool test project...id sub up to watch that. I suppose one of us could ask in Docs Q&A thread, if anyone has done this...it had to come from somewhere. ;)

Re: DopyLemontree's DocBud High Brix Soil Blend - Headband OG & Bubblegum Combo Grow

Well from what I've read you are the first to document the use of it specifically. If it is an error in the feeding instruction I don't think it's a big deal as doc always says, it's hard to over feed unless foliar feeding. I know that's for sure lol I Burt the shit out of mine. I do really really like the way you detail it out every time though. I'm just not that way, not every time anyway. Some times though.

Thanks Seven....I don't think it is a mistake in the instructions...I've read it too many times in many different threads...but I do want to know where it came from...who tested it?

We will see

Re: DopyLemontree's DocBud High Brix Soil Blend - Headband OG & Bubblegum Combo Grow

Great morning to ya DL and friends. Wanted to come over to clear a couple thing up OK. GE , Transplant and CD are the three main Drenches in the 'kit'. Giving a "big drink" is NOT a Drench OK. The two Drenches GE and Transplant should NOT be given at the same time, as they are designed to be 'played' against one another during the whole grow. They do different things for the soil and biotta. NOT to be given at the same time. They are totally different 'animals' The instructions say to alternate Drenches during the grow , with one or two drinks of plain water between them. A few years ago some of us found that giving 1/4 Transplant during the 'plain water' drinks was having a positive effect on them but let me say this . This is only necessary when the plants are larger and drawing more form the soil or if your pots arew small, OK. If your pots are large and plants are not giving extra TP is a waste, they just don't need it. Please , when growing with Doc's gear , experimenting is OK but if you are just throwing things around , without understanding what they do,..then its a little counter productive, especially since the lab and Doc have designed it to work as directed.
A typical feed /water schedule looks like this ...this is the "baseline" .
Transplant Drench w/Tea, Water, water, GE Drench w/Tea, water, water, Transplant Drench w/Tea, water , water, Repeat!! As the plants gain size and age, they will benefit from giving small(1/4) amounts of TP during the 'water only' drinks. Also if the last Drench was TP,..then for the next drink...don't give any more got it...only give that extra TP after a GE Drench ,know what i mean. OK, OK this is how the kit was designed to work. Remember , people in lab coats originally did all the testing and recommending. The beauty of using Doc's gear is , we can , to a certain degree tweak thing a bit but when ya start redesigning applications of Drenches ...your just doing things blindly OK. Tweaking is good , redesigning the kit is NOT! Cheers DL and friends! have an awesome Sunday would ya's.:):circle-of-love:

Thanks Duggan for sharing your knowledge here. I appreciate you clearing that up in your last post.

One of my anticipated benefits of starting a journal, was if I were to be very detailed about what I do, others like you can see exactly what I'm doing, and give your guidance.

However, and I say this with all due respect,...cuz I really look up to ya, I have been attempting to following Doc instructions, and noting any time I intentionally deviate from them to experiment.

This is in Doc's newest instructions'

"Some growers have found that essential oil and resin production can be increased by using 1/4 oz of Transplant per 5 gallons of water evenly distributed to every plant with each and every watering....whether with a drench or with just plain water. Please note, this does not mean ¼ oz TO EVERY PLANT, but 1/4 oz into 5 gallons of water."

Granted, Doc is stating "some growers", which leads me to believe that he has not tested this, however he did put it in his instructions...which tells me that at least someone he trusted did.

My first 6 months here, I noted the constant reminder from Doc, and experienced users, to follow the instructions to all the newbies. I took that seriously, and what a difference I noticed in my garden.

But this one section regarding the 1/4 TP always intrigued me, what was the history I thought, just never got around to ask. I just did it on every grow, as instructed.

Your instructions of how to apply the 1/4 TP are much more detailed than Doc's, which is understandable seeing you have experience in doing it. I dunno if Doc did it?

I hope you can see Duggan, that I am not going rogue or anything, and not attempting to blindly redesign the drenches.

After writing all this... I really feel deflated. I apologize if I have lead anyone astray...
The story of my life...

Re: DopyLemontree's DocBud High Brix Soil Blend - Headband OG & Bubblegum Combo Grow

No, do not feel that way. Your attitude is , and has always been fantastic around here DL...ok, just sayin bud. You have not lead anyone astray , as you said. I just need to jump in (anyone) anytime i think the reminder is called for. In no way did i mean to demean you or disrespect you OK..you must know this , please, .Gotta book it...got two boys waitin to go to a BBQ. Cheers DL and friends...have a great Sun. afternoon.:Namaste:

Re: DopyLemontree's DocBud High Brix Soil Blend - Headband OG & Bubblegum Combo Grow

DL my man, don't feel deflated bud!! It looks as though nothing has gone wrong and if at all maybe you have only possibly wasted the some TP over time. You've done an among job in your garden and I don't think you should ever think anything less!! Keep rockin it bud!!!
