Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Just ordered the kit and waiting on arrival to get to Cooking... Is growing autos in the kit a no, no? Just curious because I haven't seen it asked anywhere.

Hey KB! Going with the Kit was a fantastic move that you will not regret! Let us know if/when you start a journal so we can follow along and help out when possible. I'm sure Zdoc will be along shortly to reply to your auto question. I know some do it but you're better off with photos I think, more time for a healthy root ball to develop.

I have done 2 auto's, and have one in its final weeks now. What I notice with them is every thing seems on a very fast pace compared to the photo's. I also want to read Doc's responses to this.

Killer, I'm growing autos in the kit (first time). Stop by my journal (in sig). Currentlyday 28 or so from breaking ground. They go their first drench/dunk on Sunday. Will post updated pics tomorrow.

Hey KB, and welcome! :theband:

Autos do well in the kit--I enjoy growing Dark Devil in it, in 5 gallon containers. Sprout the seed directly in the 5-gal, use plenty of Roots! (I mix a handful into the pot and sprinkle in the seed-hole itself), and water only (no foliars either) for the first month or so. I hit 'em with a Super Drench (heavy Transplant Drench) around Day 28, then Growth ionic the next week, then Cation Drench, then Growth Ionic, then Transplant Drench, then Growth Ionic Drench (GID), then they're done. *Whew* :thumb:Ends up being about one drench and one Brix foliar per week, typically, and I certainly prefer the terps on the produce when finishing with with the GID. I also like to make sure I hit them with Destress once or twice during the grow. Leafwash no later the 6th week on those fast flowering Autos if you're using it.

-----

In other news, I have this stalled out Strawberry Banana plant that won't seem to finish--had a 3-day power issue while out of town, now I'm not sure what to do with her. This is week 12--no joke! :eek: :rolleyes:

Input, advice, criticisms, or Snickerdoodle recipes welcomed!

Very impressivs! seems like a very customizef feed schedule, is this something you came up with through multiple grows?

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a great day so far.
I seem to have some curling in my leaves... just wanted input as to how I should adjust things and what could be causing it. Thanks guys!!
Temp: 78-81
Hum: 45-55
This is pretty consistent.
Last feeding was a TP drench @10ml in 1.5 gal water. She is in a 7gal pot.

Too much light?
Too much TP drench?
Too hot?

Strawberry Banana huh? Have you had it before? That Strawberry Fields I grow is Strawberry Banana x Tangie, it's probably the best tasting citrus strain I've done.

Anyway about the stalled plant, I've had this happen and an old HB pro told me to hit with destress and that will get her moving again. It did so that's all I got for ya.

That looks like the beginning of Mag deficiency. They should be getting plenty with the new drenches and Snake oil though.

TP = Mag
EWC = Mag (slow release)
WayAhead/SnakeOil = Mag (fast)

Have you RE-CHarged with EWC yet ?
I don't think the Epsom Salt is recommended but
I did add a little when I recharged to help with
some slow later release
Hey there Gazoo! Thanks for replying. Yes sir, I trimmed her up, top dressed with EWC and recharge, scratched it in real good, then proceeded to water throughly with a strong dose of Transplant. That was on Sunday...
EDIT: I also noticed she slowed down, hasn’t had much progress since Sunday... a little bit but not as much as I’d of thought. I figured she’d go crazy after getting that TP and a trim. Guess I may need to spray with De-stress.

Super Drench....."problem" solved. No problem.

Seriously? Man that’s gonna use a lot of product even for one 7 gal plant. And I have to wait until it’s dry enough, which means days of waiting. Why is this happening Doc? When I’ve been feeding this lady way heavier than the directions call for... was it because it was so long between drenches? It looked really great before I gave it that TP drench.
It’s due for Brix soon, Friday will be 8 days but I like to wait longer. Thanks Doc...
this is getting frustrating cause I can’t seem to grow well in your gear. Just seems the amounts of everything I use has to go up up up... and that just doesn’t make sense to me.

Edit: just wanted to say I don’t mean to sound so angry... but I really am getting frustrated. Everything makes sense, it’s not that I’m confused. It’d just like to grow one plant in the kit that I don’t have problems with. I don’t want to need to give a super or rescue drench, because if I have to do that I’m obviously doing something else wrong. At least that’s my thinking.
