Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc I tried a new cure method this last grow. Chopped the plants with fans still on and washed them. Dried until stem snapped and put them in turkey bags in 8" sections of stem. Burped to stabilize and locked them in a 6.5gallon gamma sealed food grade bucket for 2 months. Now I'm trimming and the terpenes are INSANE. Headache levels of terps. Had to keep most of the bud in the bag while trimming because it was too strong smelling otherwise. My Bluniverse is more Bubblegum than ever before and I just got intense bakery smells I have never got from it. Like sweet rolls!

That is very, very cool! I really like those bakery smells. Please share any lab results you get with this method!

I've always thought that the next great step forward in quality would be via the drying/curing process.....

No labs available here or I would. But I am trained in thin layer liquid chromatography so I am going to get one of those kits soon.

I think a big difference is that it even the fans were left on. And the branches were left too. Less holes for the moisture and terps to leak out.

Good thinking and great courage to do something different. That's what is needed, going forward.

I was under the impression that if the stems get dry enough to snap, that the buds are already too dry to cure.

Yeah stem snap is key[/QUOTE

Just to be precise, I look for the snappiness of the bract, the little "mini-stem" that the buds are attached to. The main stem is often not fully snappy when the bracts are. That's when I manicure and jar....burping, etc.

I know it's not the best I can do, but it is consistent and it works well with my drying room, where stuff can stay on the line indefinitely if need be.

Ahhhh this clarifies a lot

I thought I would post a photo of my Blueberry, She looks Good to me
but since I have never run the kit before I decided to ask if others agree ?
or if there is something I should be concerned with ?

Just over 2 weeks since up-pot & 2 days since first GE.
Previously only given Transplant with tea and the Brix Foliar.
Before GE, 3 days ago, was still approx. 1 inch under the Net

so “YOU MUST OF PUT SOME VOODOO ON ME”
The Neville Brothers.

Guessing the Light Green at the growing shots are due to the
plant trying to outgrow herself :) and will go full green again once
things slow down a bit or until the next GE :)

Don’t see any issues, earlier I was thinking maybe early Mag def when
I noticed minor leaf taco-ing but has since corrected itself so was probably
due to the heat spell that was going on at the time, Patience is important
so must resist the temptation to help too soon.

Only see a couple Purple stems at the oldest and biggest leafs so don’t
think that is an issue to be concerned with.

PLEASE if you see something you think I should be watching,
or correcting for I am in NEED of your input.

Thanks to everyone who has posted and offered advice (good or bad)
it’s always welcome AND appreciated , Don’t think anyone has offered
Bad advice but just sayin :) I appreciate it all

I'm seeing a very happy plant there. Congrats! Give a good strong feeding next time, followed by water and then a strong Transplant drench and you'll be ready for bloom. The color right now is actually perfect. Keep the environment in check and you're pretty much A+. That's how it looks to me. :goodjob:

Thanks I was hoping for good news :) was not expecting the growth burst been tucking and pulling under
the net and seems like as soon as I finish getting all the leafs positioned the way I need I see more that
need to be adjusted, I think its growing when I look away :)

Hey guys! Just wanted to check in, make sure I'm on track. You guys think she's on the right track? Good height, good structure so far? I sprayed her with Brix yesterday, watered (+tea) her as well. Will spray de-stress in a day or so.... Oh and she is about 32 days since she popped..
