Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc...the produce from last run of MK Ultra involved three pheno's, unfortunately. The potency from all three is outstanding but only one has the taste i'm lookin for! The resin quantity and quality is unmatched with anything i've grown before! About 8 or so people have tried this and they are blown away at it's strength. Two hits...that's it ...that's all people seem to want when i spark one up!They say there good...they've had enough! What the....? I don't let them leave untill they have had a bit more...:):)These are seasoned puffers ...not newbees.I'm hoping for bigger more resin encrusted plants this time round with these bigger pots and a little more experience with your kit! I guess i'l be getting some of your NEW drench as soon as i can Doc. Let me know as soon as it's available would ya?Is this new drench for og's in "kit" soil? This round looks real nice under the led as well....a nice deep, rich green with a waxy look to the leaves....fake ,if you will! Cheers eh!

It will be a few months. I have to test it and have a few other people test it before I'll sell it.

Doc, one more little thing...the one thing people tell me is ,this smoke doesn't make them cough...at all! Sweet, nice and smooth, just like a fine cuban! I can take the biggest draw of a stick i can squeeze into my lungs and don't feel like coughing one bit!!Cheers Doc!

Yep. Standard high brix experience. Good job!

Doc, what avg yield have you been getting by going 12/12 from seed?
Thanks bro :)

I haven't done 12/12 in a while, but I'd get 3oz on average. 12/12 is way cool, but it doesn't fit into my current program as I need to be able to grow a pound per strain, which means cuttings.....otherwise I'm pulling males and wasting space.

But I LOVE 12/12!

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I just went smaller for this run. I'm always trying to dial in something foolproof and the improve on it. I was able to get some really nice yields in the last few runs, and some nice plants as well, but I've either got to go with:

bigger containers
beds
smaller plants
some combination of the above.

I'm about to make the switch to much bigger pots. I'm in 7gal airpot, but it's only about 6 gallons of soil. Trying to decide between 10g and 15g. The 10g holds about 8g, while the 15g holds 12g. They are the same diameter, the 15 is just a bit deeper.

Tav...i've always thought ,bigger is better with pots.I bet you i will get the same yield and healthier looking (near the end) plants with 10.5 gal's instead of 7 gal's. with two instead of three plants!!It makes total sense.More reserves for the plant near the end instead of running out of gas ,so to speak! My MK Ultra's are lovin the big pots....but at this stage (5 weeks) any pot with this H.B. soil in it will do that...it's near the end that the 5 to 7 gal. pots suffer.I don't think the "re-charge" has enough time to benefit the smaller pots when we add it after flip.I've made a decision to run three plants all year in 10.5 gal. pots instead of 4 in the 7 gal. pots. The quality will always be top notch with the "kit" but i'm after yield now! Cheers Tav.

Right on bro. My yield will go up for sure I'll still run 4 plants in my 4x4. It's dumb how I have it now, the canopy is pretty full, but there are only four little 7gal pots underneath! So much more space on the floor, I realize how much wasted space I have. I wanted to do 6plants in there, but it just gets too crowded and the pots don't fit nicely. I'm also looking for extra gas past week 8 so I need the root space. It will be interesting to see how big the plants get. I don't expect too much extra veg time required as I want more soil, not bigger plants..we'll see. Coming up next - huckleberry kush.

Hey Tav.. It sounds like you and me doin alot of the same things, trying to maximize space and thicken up the canopy some with limited space.I'm havin so much fun with the "kit" ,i find myself smiling alot more these days.My first go round with doc's kit and some help along the way from doc...turned out so good with the MK Ultra i ordered more beans(6 for 196.00).That's one reason i'm goin to bigger pots as well.Got a new budmaster 675xg lighting up the little ones:)Tav...what about your h...berry? Sounds yummy! With the bigger pots...i'm gonna veg a bit longer ,it will pay off,im sure.It seems lately ,that i look at them late in bloom...and think, they could be so much bigger, more big buds, packed with tasty resin, filling up the space! OK...rambling now.Cheers!

Hello Banditos : )

Maybe you should try a method that's known as Scrog, it can increase yield per square foot, it will grow on a horizontal plane instead of the typical vertical grow much like a Christmas tree where there is a percentage of waste, there are postings in here with how to do it with photographs, all you have to do is ask, someone will be glad to help you learn ! I hope that you are not putting a seedling into a 7 gallon pot right away, that would be counter productive ! And the use of tap water is not very good , as there are usually chemicals added at the treatment plant, there are home water filter systems that filter out the micro crap and also ultra violet lamp units that burn bad organisms. There is a lot of info in this site, taking time to read creates knowledge.
Have a good one, Bulldog.

BD,, I know what scrog is,i don't do it cuz i need to move my plants around .I don't transplant ssedlings into 7 gal pots. I only use distilled water on my plants.I have read every H.B. journal on here!! I know what i'm doing!! Cheers eh!

While it won't hurt, there's no reason to use distilled water. Tap water will work fine if the PPM is under about 200, and it might even work BETTER if the PPM is between 60 and 100.

But you're fine with distilled too.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Mornin Doc! Ya ...i know if i let my tap water sit out a few days,i could probably use it but...i will not take the chance and i will NOT put any city chemicals into my grows...that's it! For the amount that i use, distilled will only go into my coveted H.B. soil. I just don't think it makes ANY sense to use city water on such a body of work that is so pure and chem. free!Hell Doc ...it's only 4 bucks for 5 gal's. Why would someone go through all the trouble to get your kit and learn all about H.B. soil and stuff ,then put city water on there plants...makes no sense to me at all. Distilled is pure H2O,nothing else..and i like it that way!! Cheers...and i'l have a fresh Jamaican ,Blue Mountain coffee for ya!

I use RO myself, but if I had good "city" water I'd use it for the minerals. Since my water isn't drinkable half the time, I filter it.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I've used city water since I started growing. My plants have never suffered. It's all about preparing your water correctly by bubbling it for 24 hours before you use it.

Curso and Doc, if you had a drink of my city water...you wouldn't put it on your plants! It's wayyyy too hard(minerals and shit) and i can taste other stuff like chlorine etc. I know i could bubble it Curso...but that's just more time and space and messin around ! I have always rotated three plastic 5 gal. jugs of distilled. I'm very ok with parting with the $ to have peace of mind .Every time a water main breaks , all kinds of crap gets into the system, not good! Even when i used to make A.A.C.T. all the time ,bubbling it for a good 24hrs.,i still used distilled water. No guessing,no hoping it's ok. RO water is, in my opinion just as good as distilled...most of the crap is out of it!Anyhow , just my thoughts guys. Cheers eh!

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I used distilled water from Walley World for most of my grows that I did in hempy buckets. But, as soon as I move in late Summer early Fall, I will be getting an RO unit. No more hauling in a bunch of 1 gal containers.

And, I know you can get RO units that will actually put back in to the water some Cal & Mag. Sounds good to me...:thumb: High Brix growing...here I come...

Hello Amigos,
Look at it this way, do ya drink tap water ? Do ya make coffee and tea frome tap water ? Do ya like the buildup of scum in the pots & cups ? I enjoy making wine from fresh pressed apples and blueberrys and strawberrys, there is no way that I would use tap water in the fermented wine that I make, distilled water man !
I be like Duggan , distilled water, after all why would I spend Massive dollars on the organics and give it Flouride and Cholrine additives that the water treatment plant adds, where me & Duggan live much of the tap water is pumped out of local rivers, hey cattle and animal with farmer fertilizers come to flow in that water supply also it has been known that when the power gos off in the sewage treatment plants the sewage flows into the rivers that we draw from at the taps, they put out a warning to boil water before drinking, like I prefer BEER as my main Bev with a bowl of Pure Organic Green !

Hey Shrike and gang...what about those RO units that put some cal,mag back in? Does sound good eh? How much $$$ though?
Doc ...i know on here somewhere you've probably talked about your RO unit ,what would a small system set me back, any idea?I must admit,it's getting harder all the time trying to lug those jugs of distilled around.Does anyone know if growing with led's causes more cal ,mag issues? Cheers all!!

Hey Duggan , the world needs decent water, a buddy of mine 30 years ago was trying to tell many that the future of decent water was going into Hell, his side business at that time was selling small home water distillers, quite nice units, all stainless, heater tank unit, well make long story short the law found out that if you added home made wine instead of raw tap water and plugged a vent hole ...... You were making Moonshine ! Like Rock N Roll Juice,
I never did hear how he made out in court.
Anyway the prices in our hood for a decent RO unit with a UV lamp is about $500 and you install at that price.

What a hoot!! Cool story BD.:) I know very little of RO units, perhaps i should do some reading on them? A home distillery is perfect...LMFAO. Growing in this H.B. soil got so much spare time for other stuff eh...eh! Cheers.
