36 hours without sitting and talking to my plants. That’s a long time for them to be alone. Might they be scared? No thanks.

Hi Emilya - when you say no more direct light, do you just turn the grow lights off? If I do that, is it OK to go in the grow room to tend to my other plants in a separate tent? Or, should I move the finished plants to another room? Thank you for your feedback.yep, it works. Once I decide they are ripe they don't get any more direct light... light degrades trichomes. I put them in the dark for 36 hours... never tried 72... I might have to do that just to see.
Oh no! "they" are back! I used to take of "Richard" and he and his schizophrenia had very serious issues with "THEY".30% increase (at most, "they" say)... not sure if joking... <ducks>
Yay! Science! Go girl! Seriously interested in the outcome
P.S. Sorry again Cheffrey...
I would assume that since we are simulating fall, cooler temperatures would be appropriateThe OT is so far gone that I might as well add another Q for Emilya:
What about the temperature for the prolonged dark period; should it be night temperature all the time (which is around 18-20 C here) ?
look done to meDo they look done?
I’ll just pop in because I tested this theory when I harvested my last 6 plants a couple months ago. Same with bud washing. One way to debunk a theory is to try it.
I DID both. I will always hold my plants over in the dark for 36hrs, and wash the buds when I’m done harvesting.
#1 Jack Herer - Did not hold in the dark
#1 Afghan - Did not hold in the dark
#2 Jack Herer - 36 hours dark (Primo)
#2 Afghan - 24 hours dark
After the #2 test, I noticed the increase in trics so I held the next two longer.
#1 AK - 36 hours dark
#2 AK - 48 hours dark
Believe what you want, I know this method increased the trics and stickiness of the 4 plants I held over. Debates over for me.
24hr- A noticeable increase in trics and stickiness.
36hr- A huge increase in trics and stickiness. Looked like someone hit the buds with a clear coat.
48hr- Not as much in an increase as the 36hr but more than the 24hr.
What I do/did is let them dry out first (not completely), give them one last watering, then pull them out of the room, or cut out the lights.
Don’t knock it ‘till you try it. You’ll be surprised.

Thanks for posting this - we’ll be doing the same late this week r early next week. 36 hours seems like the sweet spot. Cheers - hedzI’ll just pop in because I tested this theory when I harvested my last 6 plants a couple months ago. Same with bud washing. One way to debunk a theory is to try it.

Look at them in 12 hour intervals. I agree that they are probably all different according to strain. You can tell when they’ve given all they have. Squeeze the stem. They’ll be hollow and frail, purple/green, buds frosty, with a gloss you’ve never seen. At that point, she’s given all she has and is ready for you're TLC with the cure. Thanks for posting this - we’ll be doing the same late this week r early next week. 36 hours seems like the sweet spot. Would have liked to see trichome pictures. It is difficult to assess the differences. I'm more interested in the washing technique, that bud looks very "clean" but the before is farther away and hard to compare. Is sounds like you have adopted washing as a standard practice. Did you notice a significant diffrence? It certainly makes sense, and I will be trying that out (most likely will be standard for me too).I’ll just pop in because I tested this theory when I harvested my last 6 plants a couple months ago.
