Holy shit that was fast! I tried now it seems to be the plant itself. Nothing PM like. Although the 2 branches around it have the same after more inspection
Check closely for thrips or mites.

Humidity is Hella high at 72% but it is raining at this moment
PM should wipe off, it doesn’t look like a dificiency.

I would consider even pruning the affected area.
If it’s an insect don’t wait to start treating it. Any time you see white spots start thinking bugs.

So what would be the preferred method to resolve this issue?
In veg I use neem oil, but it's not available everywhere and really expensive in others for some reason.
Green Cleaner or Safers soap, Neem is a good product.

I will have to go have a look at dischem if they have. As for green cleaner I'm sure I have seen that before. It's like a 2lt bottle of this green liquid right? Says green cleaner if not mistaken

Start treating ASAP those critters aren’t wasting time.
Hope you can rid of the critters!! It sucks treatingfor critters, without actually seeing them. Keep your eye out, treat right away in case and push forward!!

What if I just snip off the affected branch?
That might be wise, but I would spray the entire plant. Hemp Russet Mites are almost microscopic. Don’t take any chances with them.
Hey dk, if you struggling to get neem oil I got bioneem from hydroponic.co.za, not sure if it's the same as the okes use overseas but after my spidermites issue I'm making sure I got it.
