DIY auto watering systems?

I am in he beginning stages of my auto watering system. It is a gravity feed system

here are the feeds for the grow pots

Very simple at some point I will replace the manual valves with electronic valves attached to a timer once the manual system checks out

Noice. :) At one point before i started with trays and Smartvalves i had a gravity fed setup with an electronic timer / valve. Make sure you get the right type.

A lot of them use a solenoid valve, but that means they need some pressure (like mains water pressure) to actually work.
The type i got was for using off a gravity fed water tank, and has motor and ball valve built in. Lot of people use them off their rainwater tanks. To turn on it rotates the ball 90 degrees and to turn off rotates it another 90 degrees.
