Diesels First Deep Water Culture Grow

i watching d my temp raised when i removed the pump also:hmmmm: , i thought the ice bottles was the way to go? but maybe not, anyway i'am interested in what effect you get

Excellent Good Luck With Those Temps I use frozen water bottles right in the res and have no problems, others disagree but it works for Me :)

Check this out CoolWorks Ice Probe google it and its a probe that you mount on the outside of the Res and you can regulate your temps.

its been on a milk crate Rose, lots of holes in it, do you still think I need the boards? Why are the frozen water bottles a bad idea, too cold on the roots?

Nope, you don't need the boards then, I just know a raised off the floor tank is cooler and now I know that you've already raised it.

FROZEN bottles will chill the roots and they won't eat.

You have a beautiful grow, there, not one sign of nute burn.

My heat issue was from the HPS lights not the pump, my pump has been out for quite some time and it had little effect on the res temps, did you change your lighting for 12/12 also, maybe thats it, I put a 20" box right next to the res, now temp is 75 so I should be ok, but this weekend I will try to make a cool exchanger, peace?

Ok, I put a 20" box fan right next to the res. Temp is 75 now, not that accurate of a thermometer, one of those stick on fish tank ones, shows every three degrees.

That is exactly what I do for cooling, the fan makes a big difference. I think you'll be fine, just keep an eye on the roots for patchy brown spots. The roots will be soft and mushy, if they start to rot.

The simpleist way to remedy warm res temps would be to loop your water pump hose through a coil. You could do it like your pump eletrical connect and run the clear line into and out of the cooler through to a floating manifold, manifold right to your planters. When you are scheduled to remove the pump just disconnect the basket hoses. All res water runs through the coiled cooling tube. res is aeriated and cooled.

I had a keg cooler that you could run a warm keg through a cooler with a 50' stainless steel coiled tube through a cooler filled with no more than a 50 - 50 water ice mix otherwise the beer woud freeze (too much ice) the beer, coming right out of the warm keg would be ice cold at the tap. You needed a pressurized keg system to push the beverage through the system.

That's still high, everyone else I've seen with those temps have had issues. You really are blessed my man. Keep it up!

I wonder if it has anything to do with your strain? Don't really know alot about that, yet. :)
