Re: Dick23rk's 1st Journal - 1st Hempy - CKS Autoflower Candy Cane & Amnesia Haze - 2
Hey again Fuzzy Duck! Thanks for that tid bit of info there. This makes so much more sense now as to why the ph would rise the way it did. It's almost a common sense thing but didn't know what to expect with this being my first attempt at a hydro type grow.
The ph levels in the reservoirs have only been rising and not lowering, so this is a good thing knowing that the plants are taking up all or most of their nutrients. I may just have to re-adjust what they are getting in their feedings.
As for the effected leaves, it is only happening to the one plant but this one is also the biggest and most vigorous grower. I will try to get some better pictures when I have the time, possibly tomorrow. The deficiency I am seeing is small round rust looking spots here and they are mostly on the middle growth. From what I have found through searching the web is a calcium issue on the effected leaves but I won't rule out the possibility of phosphorus and potassium issues either.
Also I have been using RO water throughout their lives, only had to use bottled water once and that was over a couple weeks ago.
Thanks again for the advice and info!
Sure thing Bevman, thanks for tagging along. The 2 FIM'd ladies have been doing very well and are a lot easier to maintain. I have high hopes for these 2 and believe they will yield better than the others.
Thanks stewie. I have done a couple of grows before with photoperiod plants on 12/12 cycle right from seed, it certainly works but yields are decreased and the plants stay smaller. It is rather interesting as they almost grow just like an autoflower would. They were all bagseed experiments so not really any big loss, just learning curves.
Mmm a fair amount to read through.
PH rise, might be related to the plant is feeding more on nutrients & kind of thinking as you lowered nutrients to sort out a nitrogen issue may of lead to minor leaf problem at present but as you are back on track with feeding i don't think the problem will continue ?
If it does continue we will need a pic of the leafs effected & most of the time the common defs in early to mid flowering will be phosphorus & potassium whilst dosage of nutrients are corrected with out causing nutrient burn.
Basically if testing liquid what is left in the res should tell you what is going on before reapplying a nutrient solution.
PH rise going past PH 7 suggest plants are using nutrients which are acidic in nature hence the PH value you started with will change due to depletion of nutrients, suggesting a different dosage of nutrients to stage of plant development as an increase of nutrients may well be required to support flowering.
Could suggest water type used tho !
PH going down to acidic levels may suggest the plants are drinking more water increasing nutrient concentration with in the res this could well be related to a high temperature & low RH issue.
But over all looks pretty fine 'n' healthy to me & doing just great

Subbed, love to see how the FIMmed #2s turn out.

Looking good bro like the hole 12/12 run I wanted to do one run also on 12/12 the last run I did was 11/13 in flower I jus may try a 12/12 side in the fall keep up the good work! !
