Grow looking solid as usual.
Backpacking in the Smokey's (deep in back country) I've came within ten yards of black bears probably a dozen times.
Most the time we bump into each other on switch backs. The bears either turn around or bolt it down the side of the mountain.
Only time a black bear charged me was about a half of a mile from a camping area (not back country camping).
She had a couple cubs well to her rear. Thought it would be fun to see how close I could get to her. The answer was about ten yards. Never ran into a 750 lb black bear that would probably be enough for me to stop backpacking altogether.
u r brave.. i seen to many u tube videos of people being eaten by grizzlies .. but i was warned about black bears
by a hunter .. they do kill humans and eat them if big enough u r on the menu.. 700 lbs plus.. he said..
