Day Of The Triffids

Bit of an update - three weeks into bloom

I've got the yo-yos out today, pulled a few errant branches into line ;)

Do you mean take the tops off Scrogdawg? Not sure what supercropping is - yeah there's several taller branches but I'm fine leaving em as the growth on em is outstanding - they are all gonna be mammoth colas like Feral says

Haven't even considered bending em down as the stems are so thick

It's so warm outside and also in the tent I've got the lights hiked up right to the top anyhow

Peaked at 35C in there the other night but last night i turned off the six LED strips and it held about 31.5C which isn't so bad

Saying that tho the plants seem well sturdy, haven't seemed bother

Lower down where the intake is the temp is more like 27C and I've got a decent fan blowing that cooler air straight upwards thru their middle

Been having to use a big ass floor fan outside the tent to drive cooler air into their room which is ok when i am awake

Supercropping would be to roll the branches between your thumb and fore finger to weaken them and lay them over to be the same height as the rest of the canopy. It won't affect the colas at all but by lowering the lights you'll have more light to the lower colas and they will produce much bigger colas as well. Instead of having a few large colas, you'll have many.

Here an example. I had the same situation that you have going on. The branch will start to bend back toward the light in hours and causes no ill effects what so ever. This is a tried and true method that is commonly done for this reason.

I've just been investigating an the stems are so thick they won't bend, i am afraid i will snap em clean off if i try to bend em too far!

and that would be a loss of at least one maybe two ounce per snap!

Tbh I thought super cropping was when u clip the very end off buds about four weeks in, to encourage fattening out

Having reviewed the situation in tent I'm thinking theres a dozen tall branches that could be brought down - they are only six inches taller than the next dozen

Bending them over wud mean i block light from lower buds too

Wanted to see if i cud grow some feral style huge buds so am gonna leave em be :)

I usually end super cropping several branches each grow, usually early in flower to try and keep everything level. But most of the time they just stick their little tongues out and stand right back up.

Yeah I'm gonna leave the long buds to be huge long buds :) really couldn't bring myself to do it - I'm a big defoliator but the stems on the dozen huge buds are so thick and woody already - almost as thick as my little finger - I'd be gutted if they broke off

And there's bud on all sides, some that would be shaded if i supercropped

I've been stripping out a load of the biggest fan leaves, they are about as big as my hand! Any that have been shading buds have gone

I'll get some pics up at the end of the week - the biggest colas are joining up already - some filling in a foot long! Man they ain't even half way thru bloom yet
