She has been topped at third node and is now working on her two new tops and is starting her training other then that not much going on

Hey SoloVoodoo....Looking good! So you topped an auto huh. I keep reading not to top autos. Although I keep reading not to replant autos as well, but the 3 in front in my last pic I posted are all transplanted and going berserk! Tell me more about topping the dd auto!

OK arteekay, you "liked" his comment but didn't say "come visit my grow and see how we top our autos and pull more than four ounces off each and every plant in our grow"?????

freestyle, follow the link in arteekay's signature line to his current grow and prepare to be schooled in the fine art of topping autos for maximum yield.

Day 53. The leaves are starting to stain black. :woohoo:

This is my second most popular thread. I need your help guys.

Very challenging news guys. Heirloom just informed us that he was hit by a logging truck about five weeks ago and has lost limbs. I'm including a link to his thread so you can read his report yourself, but we need to garner all the positive energy we can and shower him with it. He lived. He's a force of nature himself and in the end I know this magnificent man will not just survive but thrive like you've never seen.

Let's let him know his family reaches round the globe and we'll all be holding him in our thoughts as he recovers.

Thank up you in advance for helping to shore up my dear friend.

Like sue said just have a quick gander at arteekays journal I got inspired to try it haha :thumb: so far I've got three topped at third node and are on their first weeks training with minor adjustments so far after following his helpful tips

Thanks Mr.am4zin I thought mine looked a little off for being 34 days and as soon as you posted yours I did some back tracking and found out in my journal it's post #34 that has first pics of my DDA haha not 34 days old she's actually a little over two weeks old now haha

Here's how I keep track of mine.

image13178.jpeg

Germination dates are down the right side of the names, ages of the individual plants are those small numbers in the boxes, which are large enough to notate anything important, like drenches and the like. The smaller numbers with the Criticals are days from flip and number of days since the last CAT drench, so I can more clearly judge trichome development and possibly adjust in future grows.

I have to have it all spread out in front of me. I do daily updates (yes, I'm crazy :battingeyelashes: ) and it has to be easy as pie to reference. This system allows me to get those updates in smoothly and quickly. Even so, every once in a while I read one wrong and post incorrect information. It's crazy how often I don't notice the mistake until the edit window has closed. :laughtwo:

I still can't help but feel we're just getting really lucky. :)

Hey FreeStyle, you can come visit my grow journal to see how we've been topping our autos. Since we started, there's little chance we'd ever stop while growing indoors.

We sprout a new girl every two weeks and I update my journal every day, so ya can jump in any time and follow our process from the beginning.

You all are too kind. If we've had better than average success, it's only because of 420magazine and all of you.

We had to brush up on our Excel skills once we started growing, there was no way we could depend on our memories to get us through.

Welcome my Lil lady to your community journal Day 10

Welcome little one. :battingeyelashes:  Grow big and strong, purple and frosty.

Hi DD lovers. I thought I would share a little info from my limited dealings with the Dark Devil.

If you want to make feminized seeds, here is a method that worked for me:

Start with two seeds.
Germinate one, this will be the plant you reverse into a 'male'
One week later germinate the other. This will be the seed 'host' plant. You will pollinate her with the first.
When the first hairs appear on the first plant, spray her with Silver Thiosulfate. All over like she has mites.
Two weeks later, spray her all over again.
Observe the sprayed plant, watch her reverse. Hairs will die back, pods will begin forming.
On my reversed plant it took 24 days from first spray to first pollen. My 'foster grower' (long story) pollinated for 10 days.
Her seeds form quick and will take about 4 weeks.

Here is the Silver Thiosulfate Solution (STS) recipe:

Part A -1 gram Silver Nitrate dissolved into 60 ml distilled water
Part B - 6.25 grams Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate mixed into 240ml distilled water (note that anhydrous sodium thio will require only 4 grams)

Mix the 60ml part A into the 240ml part B, constantly stirring. You just made STS concentrate.

Dilute your 300ml of STS concentrate. I started with 600ml more water, for a total of 900ml (1 part STS:2 parts water....300ml STS + 600ml distilled water). This seemed too 'hot' since it yellowed/crisped some leaves. My friend who finished my experiment said he cut the diluted STS even more, 1:1, which means it was somewhere around 5 or 6 parts water to 1 part STS concentrate. He reported that the original STS dilution read about 1900 ppm...quite high for a foliar IMHO. The reversed plant made lots of viable pollen, and the entire host plant is seeded.

Both my seeds were started at the same time, and it's clearly worked. I just recommend a week, maybe two, head start for the reversal plant to make sure you have pollen in time for the host.

:peace:

Let me add to what Heirloom said. Do not worry if you can't find those chemicals. Colloidal Silver will reverse a branch also. Spray it once a day for 3 wks. I just finished making my own DDA S1 seeds. Over 4000 seeds from one plant, and over 2000 from her tentmate with no active pollination on my part. Details in my journal below.

You guys amaze me. This won't make Sweet Seeds very happy, but the rest of us are jumping up and down in glee. :yahoo:

Maybe it's not really necessary to be charging $10 bucks a pop for those seeds, eh?

Thanks Rifleman. Yes CS will work, as long as you're using colloidal ionic silver. Stay away from products containing 'silver proteins' or proprietary processes. Look for 'laser tested' or produced by electrolysis. Better yet, make the silver yourself. Before my accident I ordered silver wire so I could give the CS another go. Will be some time before I can do that.

Sue, I have to figure 1/2 is going to the producer, and 1/2 to the seed bank. Still exorbitant. But with people like me, Shigg, RifleMan, Dr. Ziggy and Government Cheese out there, they need to get as much as they can, I suppose.

Somewhere along the line I'll be joining those ranks.
