Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Gonna be lurking here guys.... you know I roll with the autos just yet to grow a dark devil due to yield.... they seem to average on the small side. . Maybe I'll double pot 2 in a 7 gal soon?.....

Here's a little link for non organic auto growers ....

A-Train's new proven Autoflower feeding schedule and growing tips

If this is not OK sue let me know I'll delete it

You saved me having to track you down Atrain. Part of this experience is to learn how to maximize the harvests and that, my friend, is your area of expertise. I intended from the beginning to pick your brain. Please feel free to interject any time. I have no desire to insist everyone grow organic. I desire to acquire more information on this strain.

Yeah my fast and Vast has about 3 different highs based on trichromes. Mostly clear leaves me wanting to move constantly. 30% Amber is relaxing but no couch lock. And my 75% Amber plant is a sleeping pill. I never would have expected so much variance in one strain before growing myself.

I was reading this and thinking that the very first plant I brought to harvest gave me the kind of high that had me up and moving within a couple hits. I was totally inexperienced at that point and I'm wondering if it was due to my harvesting with mostly clear trichomes? Back then I didn't know at all what to look for. Thinking back, I seem to recall mostly cloudy. Hmmmm. Hadn't thought of playing with the trichomes to gauge the different effects. Time to formulate some forms for tracking.

Don't you love science?

We have life. We shall call today day 1

Stopped by Herbies last night after seeing this thread to check out this Dark Devil you guys are talking about and give it some thought. Then when I wake up this morning I have a message from Bonza that they are having a 42% off sale for 24 hours. Might be worth checking out if anyone needs some Dark Devil. $7.48 a seed, cheapest that I am seeing.

My seeds were a gift * swoon *"and came as a promotional with two extra seeds for every five purchased. Good, I like the aggressive marketing style. Multiple options, and we should keep eyes and ears open at all times for new offers of interest.

Thanks for the heads up. :hugs:

I took this one on Mother's Day. What a sweet thing, eh? Sometimes this user name is so appropriate it's sickening. :laughtwo:

 :slide:

I'm crazy excited. This makes me soooo very happy!! :laughtwo:

Hey hey... excuse me, coming thru... I'm taking a seat right here and.....subbed!

Dark Devil @ lets call it 3 weeks from seed pop. Forgot to mention - I grow no-til LOS soil Coots style same as SS. This soil was a fresh mix first run. You can see the nice shiny leaf surface and overall healthy and happy plant. Hope to keep it that way. We will be having warm days and cool nights all thru the grow for this one.

Already getting black - she will be completely black by chop day. I never actually looked and trichomes on my Auto ladies. I just let them run their course, since they are timed strain and not photo it's fairly obvious when they are finished. I chop after I dont see any more new white/yellow pistols and then check the date! If its close to what I expect on the time thing - chop chop. They really do stop growing and drinking water too so I don't bother with checking trichomes. Thats just me tho... for shits and giggles we will check this run.

Here she is yellow pistols with dark black purple leaves, very pretty - I've got another blackberry Kush auto going as well but she didn't have the dark color yet:

Here are mine for the week.

30 Days, in Doc Bud's High BrixBlend soil and under 11/13 lighting. This week she got her regular DeStress and Brix foliar sprays and a Growth Energy drench.

Next up, at a Day 18, also in Doc's Kit soil, but under 18/6 lighting. This week she got her foliar sprays with the rest of the group.

Lastly, at Day 3, a whisper of future joys. This one is in CC-style LOS and will be grown under 18/6 using CFLs.

We're here long term Night. Take your time. I'm thrilled to know that at some point you'll try one of your own. :woohoo:

I was watering all my girls today with Aloe/Coconut/water so I took a few pics of my dark devil. This is a no-til pot and looks like I forgot to take the label from Cash Crop auto (took 80 days??) out of the container.... I just did a smoke test on the Cash Crop last night and I'm still high. That's another good one wow, thats going to have to be one of those I cant smoke on a work night!! I got a couch lock and I woke up at 6am on the couch, go figure.

Krystalica harvested last night - this is big girl at 6' tall in a 7' room!! Had to bend her over, she's a big one.

BB, such a beauty!! Makes me salivate for one of mine to get on with it already. LOL! Congrats on the harvest too. Some day I'm going to have to try one of those. Cash Crop too, eh? You seem to gravitate to strains that appeal to me BB. You sure you're not growing for me and didn't get the memo? :laughtwo:

BB, do you do the coconut water on a regular weekly schedule? I used to be better at the regularity, but lately I've gotten a bit lax. I keep them in rotation - coconut/also drench rotated with malted barley drench but I'm not coming anywhere near to regular weekly. My soil seems to be doing just fine with that lazy approach of mine.

Really love the dark purple colour on those leaves  very pretty plants, makes me think: perhaps/probably next grow, once this year's greenhouse crop comes in ;)

Will definitely be following this... :circle-of-love:

I'm so glad you found us and thrilled that you're considering running one yourself some day. Oooooo.... The plan is working. :slide: :laughtwo:

Day 1 What a joy!

It's hard to see this little baby but she's up finally. I'm still a little concerned about her as it's been a rough germination.

Indoor, Mars Hydro tent 3' 11" x 3' 11" x 6' 7" Lighted by Mars II LED 900 W Internal fans only

:woohoo: MagicJim!!! Starting an auto in its final pot is the smartest approach in the opinion of many cultivators. I need to ask Atrain what his take is on that. He tends to bend the rules frequently with impressive results.

I went a different route with mine but only because I'm playing with the Kit and wanted to get that wet/dry cycling under control, although I believe that if you transplant in a timely manner and are gentle your auto won't miss a beat. I personally have never had any problem with transplanting any plant.

I checked on my 19-day old plant this morning and found the little lovely surprised me with the beginnings of bloom! :yahoo:

See the tiny white pistils sticking out? It's just starting. What amazing plants. :laughtwo:
