Dark Devil Auto: A Community Grow Record

Got the little Dark Devil Auto into the high brix kit soil Wednesday night after work. Took about a litre of the cooked soil, mixed in a tbsp of the roots powder and sprinkled a pinch into the hole the seed went into. Then I dribbled about a tsp of RO water directly onto the plant site. I'm going to try up potting one time with this one even tho some people say not to transplantvan auto I figured I'd try it as the up pot is recommended with the kit. Stuck the starter pot in the tent with the other two plants. The light is about 5' above plus its tucked beneath the canopy from the big ladies so I'm hoping it wont be too bright in there for the little devil.

36hrs later...
Well this little Dark Devil Auto is moving fast. Already starting to break the surface. Still has its helmet on so I'll keep my eye on it and help it out if needed. Misted the surface with RO water and a drip or two directly onto the helmet to hopefully assist with shedding it.

Looks like bigger buds than mine. Very pretty @Althegardener2 I wish I would’ve tried some LST on mine. I just let her do whatever she wants. Spoiled rotten little thing. I’m hoping for one decent bud, but I’ll be happy with whatever she decides to give me. Not like I have a choice. LOL.

I'm not so sure they are bigger, just a lot of them going at once, thankfully. I'm starting to see how they might become 'spoiled rotten', I'm inordinately fond of mine. Come to think of it, they have an entire room to themselves in my workshop, and I've got a half grown hash plant in the house on a desk because there wasn't room for her out there. Hum.

WooHoo! :yahoo: Prepare for the thrill. :hugs:

They look so sparse at this stage, but they fill in beautifully. I always have that moment though, where I look at them and think, “Aww... it’s not gonna be as big as I want.”

Then time moves on and I watch in stunned wonder as they thicken up. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Little dda is moving right along. Seems to be liking the kit soil.
I will be calling today day 1 :)

:slide: Another Dark Devil in the house. :yahoo:

The kit can be tricky with autos, but I’m sure by now there’s more experience with it. Do you have anyone advising you?

The theory is that they begin to flower when the tap root hits bottom. The other thing to remember is that you need to treat them like vegging plants for the first couple weeks after they do begin to flower.

It’s a highly-accelerated process, and you’ll have a bit of challenge to get the drenches in, but I have every confidence in you.

Regardless, the buds are gonna leave you wanting more, eh @Grandpa Tokin?

Thanks for the info Sue. I've got my journal going and have had a couple of the brixers sub in so hopefully will have help if I need it.
How long do you think I can safely keep this baby in the starter pot before I transplant?

@Grandpa Tokin I've grown a handful of DDA now and am always amazed at how long they keep growing once they've started to flower. The plants get bigger, the buds get bigger. I hope yours follows suit and you're pleased with the outcome.

I hope so too! She’s continued to grow so I’m happy. The buds are small right now, but they are starting to fill-in nicely and she’s so pretty to look at.

I fell in love with the sample. I wish I was your neighbor...you grow good weed. :cheesygrinsmiley:

They can smell that sweet goodness!!

Knowing the helpful and supporting nature of the Brix crew I knew you were in good hands. :cheesygrinsmiley:

As soon as possible I'd get her into a much bigger pot. It makes me nervous to keep autos in small pots. My best results have always been started in the finish pots, and I'd hate to see you grow a stunted DDA. They're still delicious and delightfully potent, but it's such a tease that it hurts, physically hurts, knowing you're months away from another potential harvest.

This is one of those chemovars you want to get right. Trust me on this. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

I'm certain you're in for a wonderful show, and some fierce squished oil. Envy, my friend. :hugs:

it is greener on the other side of the fence:theband::high-five:

Hehehe! You guys out on the edges have special concerns. How are your babies doing?

Great enclosure GT! :high-five:

They can smell that sweet goodness!!

So can I. Mmmmm..... One of my favorite memories is growing them in the tiny closet, wide open to the room. Every evening, after lights out, the smell would roll across the floor like a fog and envelop me with that intoxicating perfume. Harvesting a DDA has to be my favorite canna thing ever. :laughtwo:
