Hey Rexer Im just trying to muddle thru the first DWC grow I really have no clue what Im doing.Hey Dankman! All caught up...though I kinda sipped to the DWC start
Looking great, any plans for training on her? Or did I skip that accidentally?
Anyhow I'm in for the ride if you've got the room for another!
They way she looks you had me fooled! I'm no expert, but, if you have any questions feel free to PM me, tag me, etc. I've got the attention span of a goldfish somedays and don't always get notifications.Hey Rexer Im just trying to muddle thru the first DWC grow I really have no clue what Im doing.
After I get comfortable with the first run ill start training the future runs.
Hopefully in next few days ill have my RDWC system installed. Ive got couple small clones vegging in my DWC cloner ready to go.
Thanks for stopping by and post up anytime. I need all the help I can get.lol
I do have a copy, thanks thoThey way she looks you had me fooled! I'm no expert, but, if you have any questions feel free to PM me, tag me, etc. I've got the attention span of a goldfish somedays and don't always get notifications.
You've got a copy of the grow Bible chart?
And that is precisely why I would never do a DWC personally. Too much work, and I have medical issues.I do have a copy, thanks tho
Thanks to for the kind words. Im trying to get thru the first run correctly.
But its drinking 3/4 gallon of water a day out of the 3 gallons in the bucket.
Im really looking forward to the system with a rez
That's both simple and genius! Ive been keeping a log. But snapping a quick pic for a folder will be easy. And that is precisely why I would never do a DWC personally. Too much work, and I have medical issues.
That plant is going to be something else if she's drinking that much already.
I gather your keeping things dialed in nicely!
Lazy man trick- I snap a photo of my meters (ph & tds) rather then write them down everyday
The setup and cleaning it out is the killer part. That's both simple and genius! Ive been keeping a log. But snapping a quick pic for a folder will be easy.
Im hoping with a recruiulating res, using a pump to empty it out into a drain will be easier for my bad back that carrying pots of soil.
But I can already see its gonna be more daily work. At least in the beginning.
The solo bucket is a pain to maintain. But its a nice change of pace
I really appreciate the guidance. I just got a viviosun bottom pickup pump for emptying out res.The setup and cleaning it out is the killer part.
To drain my res, I drop a cheap vivo pump in and drain it....no lifting required (I have severe limitations). If there's a bit leftover it's usually fine (a cup or two) or you can use a shop vac. Theres always a work around.
My res is around 25 gallons for what that's worth.
Hydro is more hands on I think for daily work (though most of it is just numbers), soil you can forgo a day or two? If I don't check my res once a day it doesn't always cause an issue...but I do it daily as I'm a control freak in some ways.
There are ways to keep it topped up automatically using gravity and float valves.
If you do it long term and have the funds...a ph controller is a dream come true (well looks like one to me). I want one lol.
Once you get a good feel for things it becomes second nature. I don't even have to think twice right now for ph'ing my res, I know exactly how much ph down to go from 6.5 to 5.8 as I do it so often. The same goes for topping off.
Sounds pretty good, I'm no good when it comes to figuring out res sizes, and my current system isn't a real rdwc (kind of a hybrid?).I really appreciate the guidance. I just got a viviosun bottom pickup pump for emptying out res.
My system is 3 - 14 gallon rubbermaid totes. 2 for net pots 1 for res. Im guessing it'll be around 27 ish gallons with space deducted for pot clearance.
I also have a active aqua chiller.
I had it setup in my garage for couple days. Chiller seemed to work good.
Im on a budget but splurged for the chiller.
Im really looking forward to bigger yields hopefully.
Im a caregiver so I have commitments. Im looking forward to just having smaller garden that hopefully keeps up with my people

I've gotten a chiller for the first time this year as well. Well worth the money. Another peice of advice, consider insulating your reservoirs. It'll help keep your chiller from extra work. I've seen people using coolers as the main reservoir and I'm considering going that route instead of my current plastic tote. All I did to insulate it for now is wrap some thin Styrofoam sheeting that was used in packaging (various orders from a online hydro store), it doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive.
I think I saw you were using hydroguard?
And don't be shy with anything!
Hey Woody hopefully the app at the doc's went well. I shoot you a call this evening.Morning????? hell I'm just going to bed... One thing the standard in feed is the GH products. Sounds like you got it all covered. One thing I use to juice mine with some of that super- phosphorus.
Open Sesame® Soluble Fertilizer - FoxFarm Soil & Fertilizer Company
I'd use it up till week 5-6 all the really 'big' hydro operations use GH products The price is right. Keep it basic. Alot of people get drawn into all those products they advertise that a plant doesn't really need and end up with 15-20 bottles of this and that and they end up collecting dust in the shed or garage..
Alittle molasses don't hurt ether in the last few weeks....
Hope life is going good for ya. I'll give ya a call later when I get back from my doctors. Keepem Green
