Right on! It must be ok then. I like the people who are at my local shop. They have lots of glass and pens. All kinds of stuff. It's nice to support the little guy when you can
Just don't heat to red hot like the tutorial videos say to do. It'll touch your soul!
I hit mine for like 4-5 seconds with my big MAP gas torch. Just enough to make it sizzle.
Pretty sure you just bought the same press I've got too. LoL

most of the dabs ive done was with well cured bud but fresh bud will have lots of flavor its a good way to store it toOh I'm excited for some dabs

Up until about a month ago I was just using those 2 steel plates to press my rosin. LoL
I took the powdercoat off one surface on each plate, milled them as smooth as I could get em. LoL, them shits looked like chrome after a bit of wetsanding.
I'd heat the plates with my torch, then carefully stack everything & press.
It's archaic AF, but worked like a champ.
Here's my rig now...

Preston do you just press what you need for the moment or do you press decent sized batches
I normally just press little bits here & there. I'm definitely still a flower lover. Rosin is my #2 fave. LoL
But, I do love a little smear down my wrap when I roll blunts.
90% of the time, I just squish my popcorn buds around harvest time. I try to keep my hard nugs for schmooookin'
