29/05 Day 45 Vege
All the feed rings were fitted, ready for autofeeding (sooo much easier then hand watering).

Upon fitting the rings some of the lower leaves had a slight sign of magnesium deficiency. Im thinking this might be due to running PH on ther lower end? or a need to increase cal/mag from 5ml/20L to10ml/20L? After fitting the rings some of the lower vegetation was removed as it was just touching the coco and others would get in the way of the fertigating, also giving better airflow to reduce the chance of mold.

Taps and feed lines were added next.

This round I have set the fans up to blow the intake air to either ends of the tent, hopefully creating a sufficient air flow.

Also removed the top four fan leaves, I know this a debated topic about removing fan leaves, and I do try to keep as many as possible. But these fan leaves have grown bigger than my hand and are covering all the lower branches, trying to make as much of an even canopy as possible.

If I hadn't have just foliar sprayed these leaves they would be shredded up and put under my friend eggs on Vegemite toast mmmmhmmm.

With the upper fan leaves removed the lower branches are manipulated to sit above the lower fan leaves to recieve more light.

Roots have started to show at the bottom of the pot. After 7 days of recovery from leaf strip, thinking it might be time to flip to flower.

The 400W MH globes are adding a nice amount of heat, these will be changed over to 600W HPS globes after third week of flower.

Hey mate, ummm it's going OK... not really sold on these LED's. Jesus been a while since an update... don't think I have done a journal yet that hasn't had huge gaps have been quite short on time, last couple months. I think civid has actually made my life busier will put an update up. How are your girls?

With work crazy busy it has been hard to update, but I have some photos that will help tell the story thus far.

Day 1 of flower after 50 days in vege


08/06 Day 3 of flower.

Accidently split between the top two branches on this girl just after the last update, but has healed nicely.

The girl on the bottom left had some light training, just some LST to try stop the vertical growth.

15/06 Day 10 of flower

They have already put on some nice growth.

The girl in the top right although alot smaller is so very densely packed and will need a serious defoliation.

MH globes have been left in for now

But everyone is looking happy

EC has been about 0.6-0.8 PH letting drift up to the 5.8 range.

23/06 Day 18 of flower

Had decided to add the 600W/400V HPS globes as pistils had started on top of flower sites and was pretty sure they had finished the strectch. (Looking back now, should have defoliated pretty much everything).

Glad it didn't stretch any more.

27/06 Day 22 of flower

It's a shame that hps doesn't take nice photos.

03/07 Day 28 flower

This was when I first noticed the balls on two of the girls but only where the plant first show signs of sex and no where else.

At first I freaked out and was going to rip them out, but after some thought decided not to and let them run their course. What ever I could find was removed.

14/07 Day 39 of flower

So yesterday before lights on I pulled the plugs on the HPS ballasts to try and get some decent photos.

Although frosty the yield is not there, thinking will revert back to MH/HPS after this run. Seems to be more leaf growth than flower growth maybe the LED's have too much blue in them even when the blue LED'sare turned off...

And surprise, surprise more nanners, FML. With the previous LED trial with the runtz run doing exactly the same I think these LED's are for the trash maybe just use in summer time if need be. I noticed at lights off the blue LED'S were still slightly lit with no (apparent) power to them. I believe this is the cause of the herming and leaf growth. The company doesn't want anything to do with them apparently it's my environment.

ah big balls there.. just what one of mine started looking like! thats fucked the vendor wont acknowledge a faulty product..

HPS is the way, i dont care for LED. Seems to be ok for vegging a plant but the best buds ive seen in person come from HPS

Yeah mate! It's bullshit, have tried on three different circuits and is still happening should of bought local.

Don't get me wrong, I have seen some amazing results with LED. I just don't have the facilities to dial my environment in perfectly. Not like some of these big companies like jungle boys and seed junky..

On a good note have just popped all ten of these, which should go pretty sweet under the ol HPS.
