Cultivator Disciple - Coco - Barney's Blue Cheese

Looks good so far. Once you get next set of leaves on bump up to 1.2ec then when next set come 1.4/1.5ec then keep it at that for rest of veg unless they look lime green then bump it up 0.1 at a time. On the flip side if they go really dark green drop ec by 0.2.

most important things are light and air exchange. if you have that right everything else is plain sailing.

also don't have loads run off its completely unnecessary and bad practise, I hate it when people advise that in coco. just feed till pots are heavy and if only doing 1 feed per day make sure pots are light to lift on next feed. but not completely dry as that will def cause issues. the key to success in coco growing is little and often.

Hey Cult,

Thanx for your message. I'm always hyped when I receive advice from you as I know it will immediately improve my grow !

One little question I have concerning light is: I have the kind led xl750 which cost a shit load of money in my opinion 1500$ and they say that it finally really does replicate a HID 750 watt lamp although it draws 430W. The cool thing about this light is that you can dial your red lights from 0-100 by increments of 1 and same goes for the blue lights and white lights. Kind Led's suggestions for Seedling is 15% red / 30% blue/ 30% white for an adaptation period of about a week then bump the lights up to 30% red / 60% blue / 60% white and in VEG 30% red / 60% blue / 60% white, 45% red / 80% blue / 80% white or 60% red / 100% blue / 100% white depending on the type of plant we are growing and it's light use requirements. I chose to go with the 45/80/80 which ends up replicating 512 watts instead of the 750 watts at full power. Is that ok for VEG in your opinion chief ?

Here's my calculation to know how much watt each dialed setting would end up giving you. Let's take the 45/80/80 example:
45 + 80 + 80 = 205
205 ÷ 3 = 68.3 (so 68.3% of the total 750 watts)
68.3 x 750 = 51 250
51 250 ÷ 100 = 512.5 Watts

Hi everyone ! I've been asking myself for the past 5 days why 2 of my girls weren't growing and also why they had these little brownish spots on the bottom leaves and since yesterday it really got worst. Could you please tell me what it could be and what I could do about it in order to stop this or get rid of this ? @Cultivator your word on this would be kindly appreciated as well as other experimented coco growers. I have 5 plants so I could do with loosing one but if I loose two that would leave me with 3 and that wouldn't be enough for my 4 x 4 tent as I really want four nice ones in there. PLEASE HELP ! My feeding schedule is still the same as 2 days ago: 0.3 EC CalMag + 0.9 Coco A+B + 0.2 Rhizotonic (40ml in 10 liters) + Cannazym (25ml in 10 liters) so my total EC is 1.4 and PH is fed at 5.8

By the way I fed plants last night at around 10pm and this morning I fed just 100ml of water to each and they had run off. Could it be that I am over watering although I know you guys say that over watering in coco is almost impossible ?

Could be a root issue. I dont like the nutes you using either. The feed isnt too strong, that would only cause a prob if the coco completely dried out. What strength is that LED also.

@Cultivator Tell me if I'm wrong having done this ? lol I just wanted to see what was going on in the roots as you said this might be a root problem and I agree that for a 2 week old plant the root system is pretty weak. I know you don't like Canna line of nutes but like I said I had already started with them before knowing you and reading your feeding schedule and nute line. I spent quite a bit on these so wanted to give it a go. By the way I think I should have used the Atami Coco bizz medium you write about as mine is the Mills DNA Coco with cork in it. Do you think this can be giving an issue as to it holds more water therefore I should be watering less ?

Concerning the light here is what I'm using now:

So I have learned my last four weeks of OGC in coco cultivator . Good info and after my runs in coco listen to him he is right

Two things
One when they say you can’t over water in coco it’s so to speak. Meaning you won’t ever completely drown it but you CAN still over water as in too often liek cultivator said I have learned that I “over watered “ myself this winter in mid flower .

It did hold 30% oxygen but you still neee to let dry out once you find that sweet spot it’s golden from there . You should notice that you will only need say 1 litre of food then after say 7 days you will notice it drying bout more even and you will have to go to say 1.5 litre and same amount of food ? Or more depending on symptoms showing ?

2 try ti turn off pink red light for us if you want us to give you the best help we need to see the symptoms well. Purple pink pics can’t help us determine that for you. As far as brown spots how is your cal mag ?

Also do you flush your coco when you got it some coco come with ore charges crap loses in it and high salt So best to flush and check run off ec or ppm what ever you use.

Then once it comes out 0 for example if using ro water for example or what ever water source your using let say I use tap water to flush all my fresh coco I got and my tap is 150 ppm I can take three litre so of water and flush it out then I can test my ec of that run off and see what it says? Of it reads 150 ppm your good then I would add 1/4 dose of food through it making sure you have cal mag in median as well. Gen let it dry out a tad or not and drop baby seed 1/4 inch below coco and give her a day or two and it should surface. This is how o do it and seems to have great success.

Thanx for the input buddy. Calmag is 0.3 EC = 150ppm Hanna

Mine started going like that before I started feeding. Once I started feeding however it grew out. Soo I think king joe could be right. Whether its been caused by not enough feeding or a ph issue I dont know. Im sure someone else will be able to help with that

The roots look fine so def not that. Obvs dont transplant for couple weeks now as you will cause alot of stress by uprooting. Ive grown 10's thousands plants in coco and theres not much i havent seen. I have never used that light but im wondering if its just a bit intense for the seedling.

Ive also never used coco with cork in and i honestly dont know how that will affect the medium. I will never pretend to know if i dont, thats new one to me. Id just get diff coco and coco with the atami bcuzz if available or plagron. Avoid canna coco if poss or unbranded cheap coco. Justfeed enough so pot is light to lift after 24hours. That will stop any over watering.

Just follow the regime and that seedling will pull around im certain of it. Run ph at 5.5 for now as its a better range for veg.

By the way my podcast will def start sun and will be called 'igrowcoco'. Someone said i was no1 in world yest, im not sure about that lol but there aint too many people have the understanding of coco i have. Even though i hate canna nutes it should be ok with calmag added and its normally in flower that it causes issues. Keep ec at the values i said and i reckon 2 weeks from now you have a nice bushy plant. Just dont have led too close.

Many thanx amigo ! Aka the worlds best coco growa

I am definitely going to buy Atami's coco bcuzz. Does that mean I should empty all my pots out that I currently have the coco with cork in or should I wait until transplant at flower in my 5 gallon fabric pots ? How do you know when your roots are fully established and that you can go ahead and transplant ?

I will definitely ph my reservoir at 5.5 like you said ! Great tip thanx

I'm gonna be infront of my screen on sunday then for "IGROWCOCO"! Fuck the football champions league lol

I will turn my light to 35% red - 70% blue - 70% white and my light is hanging currently at 90cm (36 inches) above canopy.

Thanx a million times for your help !

LOL

just leave what you have in the small pots. don't worry. Once planets start to fill out they will be ready rooted. right now thats there priority over top growth. Even if they look crappy for a week or 2 they will def come good.

just use the buzz when you transplant to 5gal. id leave it 2 weeks then pot up. you giving dark period?

You will be able to watch champions league and listen to podcast mate. what times that kick off?
