CT’s Greenhouse Coco Grow: OG Kush, THC Bomb, Banana OG & More, Summer 2019

Just Coco coir and fox farm ocean forest. Sorry for any confusion. I love the coir because of superior aeration and drainage. I could just grow in solid coir with my hydroponic nutrients basically, but I wanted some “organics”. This is my first step towards growing organically, which I know is probably best lol...

The ratios are whatever I felt like... I tried 50/50 but some have 25/75.... I’ll take pics of the DDA, it looks like Bowser’s shell and spikes, from Mario 64.. :lot-o-toke::cough:

I’m probably doing something wrong. These autoflowers take forever, but I’ve only cracked two seeds... I did top the BBA, I said Fuck it, see what happens. Seed cost very little to me..

Very cool! I am currently researching Coco and Soil ... and will dig deeper into mixing them, ... basically using Coco as a relpacement for Perlite.

But as for setting the pH ... I am totally lost there ... because of the chart below ...
How would the pH affect the micro organisms in the soil?
Hopefully someone can provide some feedback on this; ... if not, then I'll post a question for sure.

Topping Autoflowers ... another interesting point. I decided to top all my autos and I have not had any issues ... even though all the articles said don't do it ... yep screw the general theory sometimes.

On the other hand, I was just reading a post by @Nunyabiz where they "never top a plant", ... in this thread: #20, Question About High Yields.

Thanks again for the ideas and feedback @CattleTurd.

I do equal parts perlite, coco, soil. I’m basically obsessed with air in the soil. I aim for about 6.2 ph when I water.

Okay ... I like the idea of perlite, coco and soil. Basically the coco is cutting the soil and making it airy and drainy as you said.

I would make sure I pre-charge the coco with Cal-Mag, add Cal-Mag as a base for all my feedings, watch for dry pockets, and I would really consider doing a feed at a pH of 6.5 ... and even a pH of 6.8 soon.

Let us know how things turn out.

It’s Sunday and I should be resting, but I’ve been working for twelve hours around the house. Lame. I did get a subfloor put in the greenhouse so it’s all waterproof and more bug proof.

The DDA stands 23 inches tall, on the 23rd... about 3/4 inch stretch per day for the last week. Pistils are slowly developing. The plant just keeps turning purple.

Found some ladybug larvae outside on my hot tub, so I put them in the greenhouse. One was feasting on its own kind. :cough:
A weird feeling as I usually try to keep bugs out. :goodluck:

July 1st update

Very boring but all plants are growing well, waiting for the coco to dry out.....
Flushed the DDA in prep for bloom fertilizer. The THC bomb smells the most fragrant out of the bunch, by far... will have to spray them again soon with soap to kill the remaining thrips. OG kush and Gorilla Bomb seem to have the most pests. Temps are steady low 60 high 90-95 with RH 35-50 or more if it rains which it does frequently. :yummy:

Whatever bug it is I hope you're rid of it.

I started making a Dutch bucket system. This year will be tomato clones, but next year will be autoflower madness.

Always something interesting here ... I will look up the "Dutch bucket system".

Love the purple!!!

I just started germinating a Red Mandarine ... and actuallly ... besides the medicine our family is going to choose plants that have interesting colors too.

Alright @CattleTurd ... I'm enjoying the grow ... talk to you later.

The closer I look the more bugs I see, sometimes I have to quit looking because it freaks me out. It’s very interesting though, a lot of bugs look creepy but are beneficial...

I have noticed more small spiders (beneficial I suppose), non poisonous, and less harmful bugs... still don’t like even a few webs on my veggies..

I’m real excited about my OG kush, the tops are pretty even. I should’ve trained them all this way.. quadline-ish..

I like your new picture/avatar @CattleTurd!

I guess I'm lucky not having to deal with pests yet ... although I've been told I will have to deal with pests sometime this summer because I'm growing in soil.

Even tops on your OG Kush ... and the more colas on top are good ... although one will always try to be the top-most.

You probably already know this, but just in case, I watch some other outdoor grows ... and the guy uses main-lining. I looked it up, and it like quadlining ... only he tops the branches repeatedly to get 32 colas ... and the symmetry is awesome.

Okay ... I'm bugging outta here ... lol :)
