Crown Royal 3x3 Indoor In Cold Room, Soil

I’d remove those little energy sucker buds also... That is exactly how I handle that type of split. Your buds are rockin’! :theband:

Yea, i've been plucking those off constantly. They return! Gorilla Tape to the rescue. I untied all my stems/LST stuff. I think this was a case where it was pulling apart because of the LST training I was doing. I'm going to let them do what they want from now on. Just separate the colas so they aren't touching too much.

I must admit, I have the oddest manifold. I have these "mains" that are on each side (tied to bamboo), then a whole set of these other colas that are coming off those

Just finished two blue cookies and the cure is getting close. The crown royale was so good, I’m running another set of them. Blue cookies were more dense than big... Maybe you’ll have better luck than me. Another week or so and I can give you a smoke report.
:passitleft:
Looking forward to trying the CR. I think I have another 2 months to go. March 1 harvest maybe. I'm planning some travel in March, so I'll need to find someone to burp my jars... I prefer vaporizing herb rather than smoking. I prefer the flavour. Going to see if I need to cure as long.

I'm curious if curing for smoking should be different than curing for vaping. Will need to hit the experts on that. I feel like every oz of bud I've smoked was cured for smoking. I might vape during the curing process and see if there is an "ideal" -- but follow the process to cure for smoking.

I ordered some Sativa-ish seeds to try out. TrueNorthSeeds --> Canuk --> CocoMelon . I might start them indoors and move them out to cottage country and see how they do with Nova Scotian summers. Probably better off doing autos outside here, but will see.

Was reading a bit about Crown Royale flowering times. Regretting my typo in the thread label. Not sure how to fix it. 9 weeks flowering time. That puts my "ready" date around February 10th. 5 more weeks of flowering to go. It seems like a long time. I imagine it will feel so.

I adjusted my veg tent down from a 20/4 lighting schedule to 16/8. Back to the cold temperatures.

I had hoped my leaves would "purple" up a bit, but maybe not cold enough for them. Or maybe too soon in flowering. Everything looks health and going fine.

Time to leave them alone and just wait. (and feed/water)

Interesting week. So my grow room and tents are in an “addition” to my house. Not really a tied in to the main house, but sorta hanging on. Well the flowering girls decided to do their best to make themselves known. Lots of aroma. The smell (even with the carbon filter) was becoming evident in the main house. I had some vapour barrier left over from a Reno. Ended up sealing the entire room to avoid scent leakage. I have some taping to do, but I think it worked.

This grow has been full of lessons. Going to be transitioning to late flower nutrients. Hope to harvest near end of February. The. On to my next one.

The impatience begins... least I figured out that my jewellers loop fits snugly over my iPhone when I remove my case. Pics!

Well, the wait continues. They aren't close yet. The old two more weeks adage applies. Check out the pheno difference between the lime green girl, and the rest.

The colour is coming in on the funny looking odd plant. It isn’t as frosty as the other three but sure is pretty.

Nearing the finish line. Starting to see amber trichomes showing up. Some Woody stem photos! Time to plan the harvest, wash and dry. Decided to trim dry because the humidity is dipping below 30%. I assume I need to avoid drying too quick.

Yeah slow and low curing is said to make the best smoke.
I do it in paper bags in a spare refrigerator for a few weeks, then move to jars to stabilize humidity, then smoke and/or store. Most people aim for a stable 62% humidity. I accidentally took my CR down to 58% and enjoyed the smoke even more.

Documenting my grow. I am going to miss these plants! The blue came in!

Looking nice...
Harvest day soon!!
I took a snip of some colas and tried to start drying. Desperate measures as I am out of flower - and I want to test out a method. Hung some in my grow room and they started to smell like Hay after two days. Drying to fast. Thinking about cutting at stem and drying the entire plant at a time. Worried about the Hay smell. Possible it just needs to finish longer.

Hey we've all been there!!
Tricomes are definately the way to know for sure if it's ready but the hay smell does not mean it's not ready from what I know... the nice smells come from slow curing process.
Once you can snap the smaller stalks you want to jar the buds and open the jars daily till the humidity is around 60% to 65% in the jars
Then place with a Boveda pack.

I'm at like <5% amber trichomes, so more time to wait. I stopped giving the CR nutrients a week ago, so hopefully that allows it to finish off. I know "flush" is controversial, but it is nice to not have to mix nutes. I popped a "coco melon" seed for Canuk seeds. It is still in the wet paper towel. It cracked, but hasn't put out a taproot yet. Going to see if I can get a Sativa strain growing. Clone it out, etc. 4 plants of Crown Royale should be enough till I can get the next plant to flower... IF I can cure the CR correctly. I hear that is a bit of challenge to do right.

I read that drying too fast results in "Hay" and possibly cutting too soon. so much information from people who've done tons of grows - and conflicting information. I vaped a little bit of it - and it was harsh. I don't want my first grow to smell like Hay. It will make the wait for the next -- all the more long.

Truthfully, it was a troubled grow. bad PH, stunted growth. These plants vegged for a long time because of my mistakes. I'm looking at the clones from my CR, they are bigger and better than the originals and vegged half as long.

It's a learning process in the hobby.

I just hope the Hay smell isn't a result of an imperfect veg.
