Legislation don't change f*** all. Except you buy it in a shop from a middle class mummy's boy who has just become an expert in bud overnight.

It just makes it harder for everyone who's put the leg work in. The people here who know the bud business will not be getting any licences needed from the government (some will have got records related to gardening and the various activities that accompany it.It could be called 'experience and knowing the trade' whereas the government will call those persons 'unsuitable')

But if one has got a bang bang product that everyone wants, in the capitalist society we live in that speaks louder than the puff ;)

I'm not letting the upper-middle classes make a (not very well thought out) foray into the world of gardening. I've put my time in, starved, bled, been hurt physically, had to hurt others back, lost friends, managed to see some lovely (and nastiest) parts of the world alongside the loveliest (and nastiest) people who were there through a life in bud.

I don't want legislation. It enables the government to make money off of something that's been a possible positive economic source (trading) and negative one (procuring) for the poor.

Drugs mostly start and end in less deprived areas. We could argue that they are placed there by 'the man above' (the fabled "white man who gives it to the inner city (insert your minority here)" type of guy).

It's a load of bollocks. He's a dude that's done well, moved out of the deprived area he grew up in yet still uses the same social (illegal in its activities yet social in its existence) network regardless of their race. Possession is nine tenths of the law so it doesn't matter if it's an Eskimo or a Maori. Money talks the same language. And according to statistics poor people produce, sell and consume more drugs than most.

The socio-economic climate that comes out of the black market trading of bud (and the myriad of activities and connected financial threads) creates a mini flow of wealth in areas where they wouldn't get a trickle otherwise.

And before I get reply's of the millions of dollars that have been made by legalising weed. How much have you seen pumped back into your community? If there are incentives out there, I've not seen them but I have the feeling here that it would be another thing a politician would crow about whilst we all then puzzle at the deficit in community spirit, state of simple institutions such as hospitals, financial holes and unanswerable queries from the latest sexual scandal one of our politicians has participated in/on/atop of ;)

Ideally a grey area like Dam or Barcelona, if legislation were to happen (will not while there is a Tory Government, regardless of who is leading) would be the best of a bad situation. Rich kids use mummy and daddy's money to start up a weed business then get told what they are buying and what rent they will be paying.

But.

Wow betide the government should they legalise weed. A vacuum of millions of illegal pounds will then need to be filled. Things made popular in Trainspotting will see a dramatic spike in use alongside things seen in Breaking Bad which we are lucky enough to not have had here.

Yet.

Taking away that economic flow out of the macro-environment it supports has a knock on effect and eventually many will be looking for a way to get it moving again. I fear legalising bud will make things worse.

Anyway. I'm finishing this one off. Can't help it. I've called it on and said I'm going out with a bang ;)

No bro not at all, you've been here and on my other thread since day dot. I'm coming out in May/June, know your country is ridiculously big but you never know you might get lucky and live in the same place as my pal. Or one of us has got a f***** of a road trip ;)

You say that mate but plenty of growers in the US have moved across from "underground" to legit business either via your own store or just supplying stores with product. So you just get paid for gardening and they deal with the retail side of things.

Yeh your prob right you'd get a lot of powerful and rich people who want some of the pie. But you get that with everything, I'm sure they may profit from the underground stuff, least they'd have to declare it if it's made legit.

It also makes sure that the product is decent quality. A lot of growers may not take the care you do, and are selling weed with mould or god knows what on the market. Least this way it's controlled.

Your intelligent, good at what you do and even with a record I highly doubt that would play a part in you going legit growing. Specially if it was selling your product to stores. And think of the benefit of not having to hide, anxiety over raids etc etc

Haha totally .. although in the US these stores pay top dollar for quality dank! You could be rolling in it! And without any of the stress of the police.

Personally I would see that as the best way to go as you get paid decent money and they deal with all the retail side of things. No nine to five involved. At your own pace, doing what you enjoy. Sounds pretty sweet to me.

Although I'm sure growers in the US could chime in how it fully works over there as I'm only going on what I've read.

I watched that "gone to pot" show the other week and one dude in the US been a smoker and grower all his life. And now makes his money by doing just that, growing his product at his place, then when done takes it to a store he supplies and cash's in! Was interesting to see how it works.

Yeah mate, I'm cool with that, would prefer the grey area of Dam it Barca. Legal in the club but not anywhere else. You get nicked with a unit you're going away for having a unit. Honestly believe that way it keeps out people who shouldn't be getting into a world they have no knowledge of. They're basically in retail. Just bud. My bud ;)

Definitely mate, I'm always up for an adventure. Especially if it involves getting high and meeting good people. I went halfway across the world, walked into a bar and said a password that someone I didn't even know had given me so I'm hoping everything should be sweet with the 2 Joes coming together ;)

Missus made me watch "Marley and Me" the other day.....

By the end of it, I'm on the floor with both dogs, cuddling them with tears streaming down my face. They told me i wasn't human. They should have seen me watch that ;)
 
Right gang. After some confusion, I'll not be leaving 420 until this garden is hung, drawn and quartered ;)

Will have some more pics later. I didn't have my blower (cellphone) on me when I went gardening and it's lights out at the mo so nothing until tomorrow.

Have to say. Well impressed with this LST s***. We've always been more concerned in how to hold big plants up, not pin them down. Seems like wasted years now.

However, after my latest little session tonight (and then reading an article on the bloody web) I don't know whether I'm manifolding or LSTing now. Will post some pics tomorrow and will need some help please?! Thank you :)

Man I was sad to see this. You are the first person I connected with on these boards, I hope that just because you wont be journaling here that you will at least be posting. Truth be told, local law enforcement isnt nearly as sophisticated as the crime drama shows would like you to think, but its understandable if you dont want to take the risk.
