Thanks for the reps carl and I would definitely look at that progrow specs... I'm pretty sure 4" is way to close and might have something to do with the leaf curl... causing light stress maybe

I would agree on the curl but I don't feel the light is too close but more that my box is a little too warm right now. It will be in the mid 90's today when I get home. I still plan to mount the light better and that will create more space between plants and light also.

My house gets beat down from the sun from when it goes up till it sets. My garage where my box is will be 85 plus when I get home. I still got my vent out to finish up I am hoping that lowers it down about 5 degrees.

Yeah, my grow room is like that. The inline fan helps a bit, but wow the HPS cranks the temp up. It'll be nice to run LED in there later... Last "garage" I had was when I lived in FL, no way I could have put a tent out there, it was regularly 100* - 118* in that damn thing from around april/may through october.

Day 19 from seed PM

Plants look great temps a little higher than I want but not much I can do this time of the year. Should be better once I finished with my ventilation. I dumped water from over flow cups in to seedling tray . No water for big ones

Couple there to give you a idea of how close the light is. I should be mounting the light in it's final home and should create more space.

Day 20 from seed AM

Everything looks great they are just growing like they should. No water for any of the plants. Big ones feel like they could use drink so I decided to wait till pm.

Still some curly on the lower leafs but temps were down this morning at least

Thanks for the pic with the proportions. So you really do keep them very close. Seems to work well though

How often have you watered them until now? Since you were mentioning that you were giving them too much water as well...

Day 20 from seed

Everything looked good tonight. Still warm in there but I thing there will not be much I can do. We have had a great summer. They could have used some water but decided I needed to re-position them tomorrow. I would wait and then have good feel as to no water has water weight. The 2 little ones look great

doopie it was like every day to day and half. Because they were so young I keep them pretty moist. Where you want them to dry out so the root stretch. It's like we want nice full long roots and short squaty plant . So when I transplanted them the roots were just in top half of start cups

The height at which the two new plants starting showing their leaves compared to the old ones is fascinating. They must really love that new light you got.

anyone jumping it that is about 18-19 days from first sprout


Nothing new other than seems I have mastered the art or wind low stress training. look at my two sprouts. I aimed the fan little different last night they got too much was funny seeing them this morning.

That turn was form the fan too dam funny. Bye this afternoon they are almost back strait up.

I got into my box and mounted the light better and moved the lug bolt out of the way. One box should not be effecting another. So was able to lay out better and created more space.

Added water enough till it started to come out. The double cups are gone and sprouts are in the mix now. Will be interesting to see how they do now that the light is even further from them.

Carl, you might not want to let the fan hit them all the time at that size... it could stunt them... in nature, they would have some wind protection from the larger surrounding plants while they get established. Mine get indirect wind until they're bigger by letting the fan just circulate the air around the area (aim at the wall, but at an angle) instead of blowing on them.

I posted the above while you were posting your last update, lol... they should start taking off soon now... they already have several nodes, they're just extremely tight it looks like. Hopefully with the light higher, you'll start to get a little bit more vert growth so the light can get in there
