This might be what I remember. It's supposed to be a high pressure metal halide light as far as I can tell.a plasma light is basically a light which is produced with out a filoment such as metal halide, high-pressure sodium, and mercury vapor.

Yes they are for real, and have only recently been patented. This is what I have found so far. I will add more once I get advice from the tech folks at the factory. They do work!
