Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed Stock

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Definitely  Hmmm she survived, I gave her a lot of water today to dilute leftover salts in soil and we'll see if she picks up tomorrow. Fortunately she's been finishing anyway. I'm really curious if this will change the sweetness that HB soil usually gives into something else. To be honest I've been tired with getting another mango smelling bud, cause strong fuel nose I was so fond of in the beginning started going away.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Sold my house in Bend for a insane amount of money. During the sale the purchasers bank nearly balked at the loan due to the insane price. We took the money and moved to a midwest state put half down on a 60's ranch and my wife could afford to retire. Californication is real and happening to the whole West coast and inland empire.
I feel for you Bro.

I remember when my cousin bought 2400 sq ft brand new in Bend for $64,000 - I had the same size in Oakland (mine was 100 year old duplex) for $225,000.

Norcaliwood, I remember Oakland was murder city in the late 70s. Places like Detroit and Chicago caught up in the 80s. Rough school systems in East Oakland.
Oakland and San Francisco water were the best. I think they still are. Rather than reduce quality, San Francisco stopped supplying other towns on the peninsula. It should still be good water. Unlike the coastal range, the Sierra Nevadas kept most of their trees.

I still see new pistols. Mine receeded and turned dark orange/red. The buds were so dense i could bust a window. I think you could definitely let her go another couple weeks.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I have used pee for fertilizer, and it is actually pretty good, and its free. Well, if you include the price of beer, maybe not exactly free. But I dilute it 1:12 with water before fertilizing my plants with it. Some online sources say to dilute it down to 1:20 or even 1:30 for pot plants, but I have never had any of my weed plants burn at 1:12. The NPK varies depending on what you eat and drink, and if you take mineral supplements, but human pee is typically between 10-18 for N, 1-2 for P, and 3-5 for K values. So an average of 14-1.5-4 NPK. High nitrogen fertilizer. Great for grass... (lawn type) and bamboo for that reason. Cannabis plants are pigs and they will suck it up just fine. If you use a soil with a lot of organic material in it like I do, that will take up a lot of the nitrogen as well, and re-release it when it decomposes.

I sold my house in the South SF Bay area for 2x what I paid for it after 5 years of living in it. I bought my house here with cash and had enough left over to still be living on that now with my 401-k retirement. My house here is now about 4x what I paid for it after 7 years. In 2010 no one wanted real estate. It was a bad word. Now everyone wants real estate in the PNW.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

Back to he pee thing, here are some research results done in Finland substituting commercial fertilizer with human pee.

In 2004 Finnish researchers showed that urine fertilizer produced similar or slightly better results than commercial fertilizers when used on cucumbers. They also stated that none of the cucumbers contained recordable enteric microorganisms (no human disease threats).

In 2007 Finnish researchers again showed that urine fertilization produced slightly higher growth and biomass than conventional fertilizers when used on cabbages. They also stated that there was no nutritional difference between the urine and commercially fertilized plants and that there were no human disease threats.

In 2009 Finnish researchers again showed that urine produces similar results to commercial fertilizers when used on tomatoes and slightly better nutritional value using the urine fertilizer. Again, no disease threats were detected on the harvested tomatoes.

The urine used on these field tests was aged and stored for 6 months before using. From my horticultural notes from UC Davis in the 1980s, plants can use urea, ammonia, nitrates and nitrites readily as fertilizer. Urine breaks down into ammonia when it is aged in a several step process, but plants can use all of those stages just fine. Plants and animals evolved together, and this is why plants can use animal urine as fertilizer. In most cases, urine is pretty sterile, and the Aztecs used it to sterilize obsidian knives before performing medical operations. Yes, they were quite advanced as a culture, though they also practiced human sacrifice.

In the days of old, fullers used to age urine to turn it into ammonia and then soak freshly cut wool in it to remove the lanolin, or what is commonly called wool grease, from the wool before it was spun or felted. Your trivia update for the day. I will be posting a pop quiz on this topic in another month.

I came through Oakland last year, seemed like a nice area though... I mean there are a lot of black people, but I never had any problem with black community and I used to hang out in rather dodgy areas of London dominated by violent gangs or at Jamaican parties where only white people were me and my two buddies, but yeah they were always searching for knifes on the entrance. I heard it's all in the past, however I once eavesdropped on a conversation of two locals talking biker gangs with fright in their voice

I still see new pistols. Mine receeded and turned dark orange/red. The buds were so dense i could bust a window. I think you could definitely let her go another couple weeks.

Oh they're dying all right, they're turning orange two. Well I helped them big time with that! I know she should go at least another week telling from how she's packing, but I checked trichs again this morning and they're turning amber rather quickly and I don't want to go full amber, I never had it and I don't think it's the way to go. These plants flowered on 11/13 in full sun very rarely go more than 5 weeks and I've had cases of 30 days already (counting from first pistils), only Colombian Gold and Jarilla de Sinaloa went longer, which means pure sativas.

I still trying to digest why Con's pissing on his plants. I haven't even done that drunk..

Well I really pissed in a jar and then diluted it. I guess I was golden for a while

It's actually incredible and I did an experiment once few years back by growing an Afghani plant exclusively with urine and wood ash throughout late veg and flowering... and I did it on my windowsill. But I always say picture is worth a thousand words.

It's a long-term investment, but sometimes you just cannot figure what trends will develop in couple of years from your purchase.

It's scientifically proven with field trials, which is why I tried it. What I really miss in my flowering schedule is addition of urea (neutral charge) and ammonia (positive charge), which is more of a reproductive form of nitrogen that plant can skyrocket on if it's used properly. Obviously I should have scaled back the ratio with BH, but I'm still looking forward to the results, especially in taste department

Few bonus pics BTW.

Sensi Star, which I manged to stabilise finally with a lot of care. She's starting to flower. I'll treat her gently.

And Colombian Gold pistil shake, which I've just smoked and I can already tell it's a lovely euphoric and meditative sativa that gives the same incredible feeling I got once from my Nanda Devi, which was a very particular north Indian landrace. I'm waiting a lil' bit more to roll one with these wispy buds :bongrip:

Nice.. I'm glad you saved the Sensie Star. I grew one that was the closest to a 10 I ever grew. I'd have gave her a 9.75 in my rating system. It was called ss and I got it about 92' I wanna say. Before 215 passed? Grew a few, more than afew on a place called Altamont Pass. Bunch of windwills everywhere. But we made a greenhouse outta barn. Perfect setup. Seeing we was ALOT over the limits. They had just opened a place, Oakland Co Op Buyers Culb. And they wanted weed. Top dollar prices back then. 500 a Oz,, 5 G a pound. No questions asked so we started growing. Altamont has intresting history. They had that Stones Concert up there.
Altamont Free Concert - Wikipedia
They hired some of the Old Timers for secuirty, and it was a mess. But it's a intresting read. Talking bout the bikers down there,
'Go Big Red Machine' REDandWHITE. When I got outta the hospital for that broken neck, I was in bad shape and I moved to Oakland.. DEEP EAST off the ho stroll of Mac Aurthur Blv 82 st. Dead in the middle. My I was messed up, was in a wheelchair for almost a 1 1/2 and was on forarm crutches then. But a bro of mine is a patched member and he invited me to come hang around. At this time crack was ruff. 87' But after I could ride my scooter again parners started riding by and was always 5-10 bike out front. We never had a problem with the locals. And I was a cotton ball in a coal car.
I always new there was nitrogin in piss, but I think there are ahhh better sounding fertilizers... Time to feed,, let me get a six pack and give me a few. But I had to do alittle read on it..
BTW Con those UD's handled this heat pretty good. I have to water close to twice a day with it. Morning and night. Medford? Hit 108 around here. But they are purfect sizes for what I want right now.. 4+ foot and fixxing to flower anyday,, I hope. Thanks

Well Con GL and Keepem Green

WTF is "cotton ball in a coal car"?

Yeah brightlight's and your endorsement got me to grow SS. I said let's check if it's really as good as they say :)

UD is a small plant. This strain wasn't created for size, neither for smell/taste nor bag appeal for that matter. It was a cross that inherited great calyx-to-leaf ratio, good potency from their parents and short flowering. I actually have at least one flowering already, tomorrow I need to go and fertilise The New Sunny Spot gals, it's high time!

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

So urine is high in the ammonia form of nitrogen, would that be what you use for your cationic drench?
High in urea (or ammonia when composted):

What Is the Chemical Composition of Urine?

My CAT contains low potassium fish powder, phytic acid (extracted by washing sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, beans or lentils) and a bit of lithothamnium.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

A cotton ball in a coal car means I was one of the few if not the only white boy for blocks. This was a shitty part of town. Burnout crack houses. Shooting galleries for dope. Homeless bums all out trying to rip somebody off. People was getting killed every night in my nieghborhood. I didn't want to catch catching a falling bullet from an AK-47 some fool just unloaded 4 or 5 clips in the air.. I was 2 blocks off this main street. All that was on this section of that steet was Jimmies Liquor Store, a Pool Hall, 2 pawn shops, and a whole, whole bunch of motels. And the streetwalker were on every corner. I actually sold pot to afew. This one was a midget, Tiny Tina. she'd always hug me and her head was level with my zipper.. I'd always put my beer on her head scratch the back of her head and say she'd make someone a perfect wife... I never messed with myself awhore ever. Seen alot who did. Stupid fools. I lived there and even partied with some locals, met alot of these ho's and half are men. The prettiest ho's were men. But I get along with just about everybody to say highs too. But my home, there might have been different thing, 1 or 2 I'd let around my personal space.
And everyone around there knows the HA's. Well, I had to rehab there for abit so the homies were there 24/7. We even flew the Culb House flag on my home for abit. Complete with my own personal 'House Mouse'. Cute little gal that cleaned dishes and vacuumed, and welll and.............. She was cute. But with all the type of people coming and going, I never had a problem. Hell and I was wearing a Stetson and Boot walking the streets and I had no trouble,, cept one and thats another long ass story.
Typing is hard for me. Hunt and Peck. Thank God for spell check or no one wood ever be able to read my garbage
Well Con that is the long story of the cotton ball.. Keepem Green

went to a grand funk railroad concert at oakland coliseum back about 69or 70 when we rolled into town we were in the east side and we were 4 cotton balls in a chevy that was an eye opening experience!

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I've heard so many wild stories from NCW over the years, but this was funny as hell  Hmm I started breaking the Colombian bud and I can feel the same flavours I remember from Nanda Devi, there's this floral smell when you get to calyxes and then when tear them off finally you get this astringent raspberry bubblegum smell, which is very wild. Then when you look at the stem there are shitloads of tiny nodes almost one of top of another. I think I'm gonna be happy with this bud, it's very clear-headed and dreamy, but very relaxing too in a sativa way :passitleft:
