Welcome everybody, old members know what to expect, but I hope new ones will enjoy as well. We are still in the middle of winter here with cold nights, but as soon as the moon turns new and starts to wax I'll be popping first seeds.

I need to grow these before their shelf time is up.

How old are these beans, and what do you consider their shelf-life to be?

I ask because I've got some seeds that would be considered shelf-aged myself (3+ years) that already show signs of energy loss in germination. I keep them in cool dark places, but not refrigerated.

Re: Conradino23's Another Outdoor Grow With High Brix Soil - Air-Pots & SoCal Seed St

I've got some remaining OG Kush seeds which might be 16-17 yrs old, and I've grown top shelf bud from these ones already, so I'd hate to see them wasted. I also have other ones (Aurora Ultra Confidential, Aurora Ultra Kush) from my buddy, which are supposed to be 10-15 yrs, and I still didn't pop even one. Then I have my own stock of Ultra Dog F2s and F3s (some in deep freeze), which are still fresh and perfectly viable. New ones are Green Crack and NYCD, which I was given while in Cali. "Club bud" my friend said, so hard to say if they're regs or fems and what to expect, but I never got anything less than decent from him.

Anyway soil is almost ready, I've been preparing it over the winter. First run HB it is, and it will be used for the seedlings and for the bonsai plants. I might get few small 1/4 gallon air-pots to give them better root conditions at start too. I've been also brewing a new kind of compost tea for few months with some very special ingredients like dead lizards and wild herbs. Now I'd like to see a new moon, which is a perfect time for popping the seeds and we're on. Temps are around 4°C or 40°F and RH is at 46% now, but this should break by first days of February :thumb:
