Conradino23 Keeps On Keeping On Outdoor & Indoor Using LOS/High Brix Methods

Growers don’t think much about seeds usually, but in fact it’s a cheap and powerful fertiliser when processed correctly and used in the right time of the cycle. Phosphorus adsorption in soil is way better than with calcium phosphate as this is acid form we’re using here.

I used to make a lot of SST or sprouted seed teas then switched to adding in Malted Barley ground to a fine powder to my soil for the catalyst action and chitins.

I'll try and make a fish bone meal tea with a dash of vinegar. I've got a bunch of VEG plants that could use a kick in the pants. lol

Fish powder is not really good for the veg, I only use it in flowering.

Some bud pics after three weeks of bloom. They're both doing fine. Today they got their second slightly stronger cat drench this time with a touch of ammonia, cause I got concerned about early cannibalising of the lower growth.

Ice Breaker has started looking like a normal plant in the last couple of days. Heavy drinker with a deep root. She also flowers very quickly and now has developed a typical smell for the Skunk lines, sweet, musky and peppery. We'll see if there'll be any mango popping up later on, which is also quite typical. Black Dog is slightly slower, drinks less and has a nice sweet hazelnut smell, that I also get quite often in early bloom :)

Yeah she really did!

I took a reading today of both plants and I'm satisfied. Ice Breaker 16,5, Black Dog 15 :surf:

The sun helps your plants look beautiful.

Thanks for the tips on the cation tea. I'm a little slow on the whole cation tea deal. Its sinking in a little bit at a time.

Cations + amino acids .... taking a think.

Snowing here in upstate NY for last 4 days.

Thanks a lot, man. I think there's nothing like good outdoor flowers and spring sun is the best for some early harvest.

This tea/drench is supposed to boost terpene and cannabinoid production. It works really well for me in flowering... well it just changed completely the metabolism and look of Ice Breaker, which looked like shit throughout the veg, so there's a great power. However I really don't know what it's gonna do to your plants in veg as you're injecting nitrogen in amino acid form, phosphates, potassium and calcium and magnesium in one single shot. Also it works well for the HB soil and I can't say how it's gonna interact with your own medium. Just something to consider.

hell ya that's a good reading that ice breaker really came through that b dog at 15 gunna be some tasty stuff I really like the flavor of the b dog very good con :)

Oh I'm sure they're gonna be both very tasty :)

Thanks Con - I haven't done anything yet.... I have Nettle and Comfrey anaerobic teas they in jars haven't used them yet. They be more like a Nitrogen fertilizer really. Nettles has many anions I'm just not up to snuff on the best way to bring them out. I've made compost tea with them in the past with EWC and kelp.

I have lots of plants in all the different stages. Most are VEG now but have a few in early flower. I'm not doing anything but water with the VEG plants for now until they get up-potted. Most are in #1 pots so experimenting in a small pot could be a less than positive result if I'm not careful. I like more buffer space in case I mess up.

You like Cations in flower more so than in VEG?? My soil mix is very high CEC already and high in Calcium but not really high in Nitrogen. I usually add N in a non-soluble form like from Kelp meal and EWC. Those are pretty much my go to for amendments.

Tweaking to bring out the best in the plants is fun.

I've given a plant in veg a cationic drench before when I was smoking to much and gardening. It looked fine afterwards, although I haven't attempted a repeat. :)

Well at least you know it didn’t screw anything up :)

Nettle has a lot of nitrogen, but much more than that and it breaks down quickly in a bucket of water. It’s ready to use shortly afterwards. I never tried anaerobic method though, I don’t see a benefit of it in my grows.

Cations are way „heavier” than anions, so they’re less mobile than nitrates. Plant needs to make more of an effort to tap into soluble ones in soil via various microbes, so it’s really challenging the root zone that you’re after and your reward is stronger plant in general. But it’s not like you can’t use nitrates in bloom if plants call for them. I also like to keep nitrogen very low, which makes for way better flowers in the end.

Well bottom line is that it’s way safer to use cationic sources in early and middle flowering, so you don’t provoke an overabundance of nitrates, that’ll come back later as the harsh taste. But if your soil is low on nitrogen and you don’t overfeed your plants through the cycle then you can pump some more even in bloom. I rarely do it though, I try to get the right levels in soil and the plant up to late veg and then I start being cautious about it. I’ve experimented for many years and that’s how I get the best results: the champagne taste :)

Lebanese pics for your pleasure. It's a beautiful plant, that excels in HB soil. The only question is if it's CBD or THC genotype? We'll find out in a few weeks :)

Your methods for growing are always fascinating, conrad. What is ACT?

I just moved to a nice little piece of property and I am really trying to treat the soil well. I am trying to be as natural as I can, so the talk of seeds here is interesting. I'll have to find something to read abut it.

So with the vinegar teas: do you just mix them in when you water? No worries about pH?

That Leb is a beautiful plant. It has nice structure. I'm happy when I see 2 runners starting out low.

Those leaves are perfect!

Yeah they grow it with no training in Bekka Valley, but I fimmed another one outdoor before and she reacted like a champ, so I can’t uphold the myth of no topping looking at another great reaction for it.

LEDs definitely help in keeping the plants low in veg. I also cut stretch by half in flowering this way. It’s been very gradual and easy to control since I started using them.

Gorgeous plant, sativa dominant?

Don’t really know. The other two I grew outdoor were typical hash plants. About 5’ give or take 3” with huge compact colas. This one looks similar to one of those.

It’s aerated compost tea, your usual tea that gets enough oxygen so it’s stay aerobic. They usually call it AACT = actively aerated. Well almost the same thing.

Good call on the soil. Maybe you can grow in the ground there. Send a sample to the county lab if you wanna know what you’re dealing with and then you can take an informed decision about treating it.

There are no vinegar teas in my setup. All I do is I add vinegar to my powders when I prepare the cat drench, so I get better calcium and phosphorus solubility!
