Conradino23 Keeps On Keeping On Outdoor & Indoor Using LOS/High Brix Methods

I wonder what's the going rate for bud in Oregon? The reason I ask is because a couple months back I saw on the news that they grew too much pot and were unable to sell it off. Now image if every state is like that. You know everybody and their mom is going to start an op. I agree, with Penny about the craft growers having the edge which will likely only consist of DBHBB kit users, but I bet that big money will try to squeeze them out too. Whatever the future holds, I have little faith that the little guys will be able to stay in this for much longer and is why I have been putting a lot of thought into my off ramp. What I got is definitely not big, but it sustains me, though I foresee that coming to an end soon.

Craft can be very profitable, but you need to invest too and you have to get a good bang for your buck... and you have to advertise and you have to get minimal exposure.

Yr side of the pond is slightly different than here though. I mean when I think what craft production is here on a general level it’s an endless bunch of small businesses that offer unique products to a consumer... directly and locally.

I’m gonna point to Cali again, cause I don’t know situation in Oregon or Colorado very well, but there everything is being regulated through large chains of distribution, which don’t give a shit about small time grower. You’d have to fight this thing off first and then you have a lot of field for yourself.

Italy for example is a country built predominantly on small and medium businesses, which contribute much to the economy. France also follows this model and EU regulations such as quality labels make sure it’s supported on a European level.

Well this system really helps small guy to survive, so maybe you should follow :)

The American capitalist mindset will not change course. It's like you said, large chains of distribution don't give a shit about the little guy. Corporations are like Highlanders in that in the end there can be only one. So now till then they will be on a never ending quest to overpower all the others to be the biggest toughest kid on the block.

I am in Oregon. The other day I saw a sign --- $2 for a gram.

So a whopping $56 an ounce if they don't give you a deal? I would throw up if I had to compete with that market here.

At $2 a gram you’re out of business if you have a small farm. But I heard high quality indoor is still in demand in Oregon and it fetches the right price. Is that true?

I get it man. Last time I spent money on smoke was in Morocco :)

Yeah this makes it very difficult for the cottage industry to see its piece of the cake.

Yeah this makes it very difficult for the cottage industry to see its piece of the cake.

The cottage industry can do well inside of the immediate surrounding communities, but not much farther out. Just like small craft beers, or wines, that overtime gain local popularity, one might be able to chisel out a descent living, but a lot factors must be ideal, and a lot of personal sacrifice and investment will be required. Bottom line though, my hydro ass will go the way of the dodo, lol. Unless I find success in my high brix ambitions, but I honestly think I have a better chance of successfully pissing up a rainpipe w/o getting wet.

I wouldn't give up that quickly, but going legit at this point is not really a choice... if you can see the writing on the wall. I also started feeling limitations of illicit growing. You can just do so much being the secret dude and this will become past sooner than you expect. My wish is a sustainable, organic business, that grows top notch CBD flower and when the time comes THC plants too.

I think you're putting down a small farmer a bit in the age of WWW. If you're resourceful you can a lot of work done online, quite a lot actually. But you need to invest and you need to invest it now, cause it's showtime :passitleft:

Today I went to get some horsetail to add to my tea, cause first days of May are great to collect various kinds of weeds and herbs :)

Few days before I put some fresh stinging nettle there, so the tea is already nice and stinky. This will be used throughout the veg when needed and occasionally in flowering.

And here's my compost tea that's been going for a year or more.

And this is mud root brew. Basically cannabis roots from the last grow with dandelion, mint and some stinging nettle root. This is something I've been trying and I don't know where it'll lead me.

Bushmans in the sun.

And sad root bound UD that I have to transplant outside asap.

:bongrip:

Them horsetails looked like asparagus.

I can't quite tell, but are those Bushmans seedlings? Whatever they are, I wanted to ask why they fatten up above the cotyledons (first set) but not below? All of my plants do that too, but I never learned why and thought you might know.

No there’s no bubbler but they bubble no problem :) This tea is usually diluted 2:1 or 3:1 with water.
