Come on folks let's see your veg plants! Here's some for ya

Looks good but might want to lower the SCROG to just touching the canopy then use it to spread the buds out further .
Doesn't look like you got a whole lot of headroom.
Really appreciate that .I will lower net now .headroom left is just over 4ft now I’m worried lol. It’s my 1st ever grow lol so following everyone on here’s tips and ideas. Really appreciate the help

Yeah if you only got 4 foot then best to bring that on down and start spreading them out, give yourself as much room as you can when you flip to flower, they should double or even triple in size.

I have no personal experience with HPS, I only use LED so I can only suggest what I've read others say.

Most seem to run a 600w at 16" to 20"

You can get a LUX meter off Amazon for about $20 and check your light at different heights to dial it in exactly where you want it and what works best for your tent and sq/ft.

Lovely plants as usual from you Lerugged! Awesome rooftop garden. With the visibility from above I am guessing it is legal where you are.

Do you grow the Sativa/landraces because that is your preference, or do the Indica dominant strains not grow so well or perhaps not so easy to get hold of where you are? I just wondered I presume it is your preference. My favourite strain currently is a cross I made that is slightly Sativa dominant (55%), but currently I have a Strawberry Cough that was slow to begin but has started to motor now, the breeder says it is 80% Sativa so I am looking forward to that to trying out when it's ready.

I much prefer the sativa buzz. I also have ADD and Tourette syndrome so the African sativas are massive help there. Putting it down to thcv but its possibly something else. The landraces are mostly breeding projects and refreshing lines so they are not lost to the world. Yes indeed it is sort of legal. It's that grey period between out top court saying it is legal for private use and the politicians making the rules. Apparently it's llike 6 per household flowering and unlimited veg plants. I intend to take the piss with at least 3 pound plus plants. Yep the whole of Cape Town has been watching my grow. ;) almost impossible to get to as well. It's all about full sun for me.

I have been smoking/vaping for decades and mostly never had a clue what I was smoking strain wise, or if it was indica or sativa or what. So far of named photo plants, I've only had White Widow and something called Gorgonzola which was claimed to be 70% sativa. I made a cross between the two, which after myself and a grow buddy grew it out, we both view it now as our favourite smoke because it gets you nicely enhanced/high but allows you an almost clear head that makes it good to do things or socialise etc. That is my only known experience with a sativa so I am guessing that maybe the 'clear head' aspect is a feature of sativa, does that tally with you, what's the key factor of a sativa to you?

I can really imagine that is right. There are so many different cannabinoids that can be present and yet in all different unique mixes. I have read many times and I saw one report of folks being tested for how stoned they were in comparison to the THC% of the bud they smoked. The result was that this whole bunch of people were declaring their level of being stoned as being really stoned/high, but the variation of THC% was something like 12% to 28%. It seems to me that there is perhaps too much attention given to THC%, it seems likely that a lot of what enhances us and gets us high is something other than just THC, other individual cannabinoids or just the whole 'entourage effect' that not much is known about.

That's pretty neat. I got 3 strains growing currently, never had them before, so I am curious how noticeable their differences will be, 1 is quite sativa dominant which will be nice to evaluate.:hookah:

Funny with the ambiguity of the rules, the Mendocino dope boys (their plants can be googled) who similar had a legal but local restriction on how many plants they could grow, and they ended with these huge 8-10lb+ trees growing in 1000gallon fabric pots and stayed legal to the allowable number, but the cops seized them anyway because they were 'too big'.

I envy you for the full sun, my balcony only gets full sun for one plant from 1pm and only covering all 3 plants by 2pm. So full day sun would be fantastic. I am all the same a bit surprised that they still seem to grow fairly well with a low's amount of direct sunshine, as initially from what I had read suggested it may be a stunting impact with not enough direct light, but I think it is because of the soil. Which on saying that, I just now recall a post by you, (unless I have lost the plot from the good herb consumed recently) where you listed your soil ingredients, they pleasantly surprised me as I'd seen pics of some of your plants which looked great, the evolution that my soil has taken from SubCool's then some of Coot's and things like bio-char, I think I had ended up with pretty much all the same ingredients. Things I liked about Coots, I was happy to add to what I had rather than start all again. As much as I would love to grow a real tree, I can only grow to about 2 feet otherwise I lose my stealth.

African sativa are known to be super up but clear headed. It's a feeling of being high as opposed to stoned if that makes sense? There is no haze or og at all. At least with the strains I Have been working or 20 years and my grandfather for bout 40 years before me. Yes I also build my own soil completely with what I can harvest from nature. Cuttlefish "bones" provide calcium carbonate, kelp, shell and all those good things. I get sun but also get hammered by the Cape Doctor. They get hammered hard but somehow it just makes them better and bigger and stronger.

I use hps & led lights and that 16-20 is what i been using. U wanna start from 20" and slowly lower the light to16" in the beginning of flower, and beware of the stretch in first 2-4weeks of flower. Looking good!!

Day 3 of scrog & day 6 of flower .sorry no photos but I did a little tucking and it looks awesome. I have some of the foliage underneath the canopy removed few weeks ago and was wondering when is the best time to completely clear foliage beneath canopy?hence improve air flow for bud sites and make things even easier for watering and runoff
