The only thing that kept my motivation up today was thinking about that harvest last night and setting up my new photo/video light box!

bling!Here are the three, well two girls and one hermie, that I have going. I got screwed again by a stealth hermie putting out only one banana at a time. I really like the looks of this unknown so since it had already f*cked up the room I left it to see what happens. I have gone on banana watch though

How long do you let foxtails go with out affecting the mature buds below ? Thanx in advance Mike

Your second set of pics shows the risk. When they start to grow the leaves again, it can get out of hand. Otherwise, I let 'em foxtail all they want. It's nothing but sugar at that point - all calyxes and trichs.
If you can knock the light cycle down an hour or two, they'll stop growing the leaves. 11/13 or 10/14.
But they're looking mighty fine from here!
Chop in the next week, or let 'em run a couple more weeks and see what happens. It goes in waves. They'll pause again in a couple weeks anyway.Oh, and the rest of the bud ages of course. But the new growth outweighs the loss. If you're concerned, just keep an eye on the mature bud for amber. My experience is that they don't amber very rapidly. The new trichs are a net gain.
Also good to know if the strain your growing is prone to foxtailing and just a genetic trait or if its due to heat/light stress and its foxtailing because of that. That kinda stress usually a bad sign for either potency or yeild.
Ive noticed the only time mine get slightly foxtaily is usually the sativas or sativa leaning hybrids or when they get too close a HID and i dont catch it in time.

Pistils were changing color steadily but the buds are starting to foxtail

Foxtails never bother me, it's an early sign of stress with no other issues other than making More Bud !
I look at the top and some of the lower buds to judge when to cut.
Ideally trichomes all white and some amber.
I disregard white pistils on foxtails and decide if she "looks" ready.
