1973 around this time of year, Buddy and I headed to Oaxaca in search for some of those arm length colas. Great story behind it, but long story short, we ended up going up into the mountains and scoring a kilo of forearm length tops, $20 a kilo if I remember correctly. Damn it was good.

I would pick them up in El Paso for anywhere from 100 to 150 a ki
depending on the quality and quantity.
nice golden brown colas LOADED with seeds but nicely packed compared to the regular green commercial bricks.

Did not find any of the Oaxaca trip but did find these. They are 35 mm that I snapped with my smart phone, so quality it not all that good.
This was circa 73/74' in Austin Texas. One pound of Oaxaca long buds. Worked with a dude that had these at around $200 a lb., of course that was ridiculously high but it was very good.
Hand in the pic is my Buddy that traveled with me on the trip to Oaxaca.
Thinking I can read 22 grams on that ol' Triple Beam, still have the damn thing.
This was the longest, do not remember the length, but long.
This is sitting on top of my 1971 Martin D28, still have it, still play it. That bud is around 18".

Weed all gone... guitar is a keeper! What year was it built?? I bet that's worth some coin now if not beat up too bad. Martin factory less than 50 miles from me.
I think we called that Acapulco Gold back in the day... we didn't know the diff...

It was built in February 1971 D 28 and she is in fine condition, I also have her sister, also a D 28 built in Sept of 1971.

Oaxaca spears... Takes me back. I use to get them in the 70's for hella cheap..... LUMBO was 25$-30$ a oz. 'Scawg' was 10$ for number 1. It was like 15 a OZ iffin I remember close... But for sure a telltale sign was seeds..... DUDE.... My shoe-box lid wood be full after a OZ of cleaning. What we did for pot back then. And Black Afician for 60 a finger. BIG FAT Opium dipped Buddha Sticks or even 3 1/2 gram thai sticks.........

I remember most of those. But the Buddah was the most memorable. I remember having pass out parties with my friends. At least I think I remember them.
