Come Grow With Me: A Beginners Guide

On the bright side, I got the 3 x 3 up with the bubble cloner running in it now. I was planning to use it for drying when the plants finish so may as well make use of it till then. 3 x 3 looks so small next to the 5 x 5.
Here's a group shot of the 5 x 5. Then the Peyote Wi Fi in the back & some Cherry on Top. I started training 3 of those.
I'll be up-potting those 3 tomorrow. Then a pic with the other 3 Cherry on Top & the Glue Cookies. The Glue Cookies got up-potted from 1 to 3 gallon. The Peyote Wi Fi's were up-potted to 5 gal. bags.

About 1/2 the clones have rooted so they may get potted tomorrow.

Bigger the pot the better.
Hell if I had the space I'd use nothing but 4'x8' beds thats about 350 gallon.

LOL .... I did the LST part. Should have done the SCROG part too. I think I can keep her going as long as she doesn't Hermie. Just not so sure she wont with the broken branches about 4 weeks into flower.

Well I F'd up growing the big one. It's too big & all problems now. All her branches fell over from the weight & she has at least 4 weeks to go. I mean branches on the floor & a couple snapped. Not sure what the hell to do about it so I just wrapped it in a SCROG net to hold the branches up. Looks like hell ! If it survives & doesn't Hermie it will be a miracle.
I'll never "NEVER" grow in a 10 gal pot indoors again; unless it's SCROG. I should have trimmed a lot more too before I started flower. I guess I know what happens now when you grow too big & bushy of a plant. I'll stick to my 5 gal. grows from now on. I never have a size issue with them. This one just got too big for me. I'd hate to lose it as I'm sure there's over a pound of weed on her.

Wow. She is REALLY big. Got her anchored down good? Those buds are going to be HEAVY! This ole timer is going to figure out the phone and this laptop....I gotta learn to send pics! Went in my tent the other morning...and it scared the dogsh** outta me! Eight miles high #1 looked completely different from #2. Came in here immediately and started looking @ pest/problems..Nothing.. Went back to the tent, got settled down with my magnifier, IT WAS LIL' BUDS!! She's just a month old....haven't flipped them yet..Can this be????

Are you talking about the Pear Shaped thing (Brain Fart / can't think of what it's called) & there's 2 hairs coming out ?
She's showing her sex if so. Pear Shaped Good ! Round Bad !
 
I did move some branches around this morning on the Peyote Wi Fi. She seems really weak right now so not sure if she'll recover. Give her a few days to see if she perks up.
I up-potted 3 of the Cherry on Top to 5 gal. pots today. I also potted 4 of the Cherry on Top Clones into 1 gal. Soon as the rest get potted I'll go 12/12 with the Clones to determine sex & possibly Crossbreed with Glue Cookies.
Had to change things in the tents again to make things fit. Getting too crowded. Can't wait to determine sex to eliminate a few (watch them all be female .... lol).
So the 4 potted Clones, 3 Glue Cookies & the Cloner are in the 3 x 3 now.
The 3 Peyote Wi Fi & the 6 Cherry on Top are in the 5 x 5.
Much better room wise.
 
I got the new light today & put it in the 3 x 3. It's similar to the Mars Hydro TS series lights; but not as good. The dimmer is in the ballast like the old Mars lights. The hood is 2" shorter length & width. The beveled hood sides are only 1/2 as long as the Mars. The driver is mounted to the light & the cord is too short to move the driver outside the tent. But considering it will only be used for clones & seedlings at 50 - 65% brightness, & the low cost of it ... it's all good. Eventually I'll decide to clone a lot more & turn the 3 x 3 into a Mother's Tent. Have to buy me a 2 x 2 x 4 tent 1st though.
I'll get new pics up over the weekend. Hoping to get the clones all potted this weekend so I can flip them to 12/12 on Monday.

How's your big girl? You caught it in time huh? Tonight was my last watering before the flip! Adopted 4 more...(And I wasn't going to be able to get it to grow...ha..If I'm going to have to spend that much on it-I'll get it done. Just hope THIS one has SOME pain reliever in it, Even if it don't, I know what to do- or know who to ask! Thank You 420!

Have you looked at the Terpene profiles ? Different strains have different Terpenes so you have to buy a strain that has the ones you like. The Terpenes are what causes different effects from the weed. Terpenes are also responible for the smell & taste of the weed. I try to buy strains that have more Myrcene & Linalool Terpenes because I prefer a heavy Indica high. There's a small chart on it in this journal somewhere. Terpenes are more important then THC content.
First find strains with the Terpenes you like & write the info down (Strain, THC, & % of each Terpene). Then you'll have a list to choose from. The Terpene charts show you the name of the Terpenes & tell you the effect of that Terpene. Once you know the Terpenes you are after you can go on Leafly & find out what strains have the Terpenes you prefer.

Too soon to tell how the big one is. Looks like she got ran over by a car as of now. But these plants can handle some shit so it may be OK. I figure 3 - 7 days will tell the story. I'm not experienced with plants this large. I usually only go up to 5 gal. pots. This 10 gal. pot is too big for indoor grows unless it's done SCROG Style. You got to have a net to hold up the branches. Now I see why some even use a double SCROG net.
I only did 1 - 10 gal. grow before & it was close to 4 years ago so didn't remember what it was like. That one was a Re-Veg on a Big Bud plant. Re-Veg plants can get really big & bushy.
I'm trying to convince myself not to Re-Veg the Peyote Wi Fi & use a SCROG net this time. Up-pot to a 15 gal. & just the 1 plant to fill a 5 x 5. I guess a lot of what I do next depends on how the big girl turns out this time. If she Hermie's, I'll lose at least a pound of weed so wont have time to try a RE-Veg / SCROG. I'll have to move on. But if I have plenty of smoke to get by on, I just might try it. I go through about 1.5 oz. a week myself so I need a good supply so I don't go broke paying dispensary prices.

Think I'll stay with 5 gal. I'd be crying my eyes out IF this ever happened to me. In fact-gives me the idea to use alot of eyebolts before I move mine into their new home.
 
I decided to put the 5 x 5 in Flower today. Some plants are kind of small; but that's OK. I have a Clone of each one in the 3 x 3 vegging. I just hate wasting time vegging & up-potting regs that could be males. So I'll be able to throw out the male plants & clones soon. Then I can get all females from one of the clones I keep.
So I did a major defol & trim job on the 9 girls in the 5 x 5 (6 - Cherry on Top & 3 Peyote Wi Fi). My main reason for flipping to 12/12 was the 3 Peyote Wi Fi. Don't want 3 more like the big one in the shed. These 3 are about my normal size when I flip. 1st pic is before defol.

Did you lose power Bud? I did. Got the generator out and what's the first thing I took care of?! Was planning on flipping AFTER this cold front...but we'll see.

No, haven't lost power here in years. If you mean the light I have it turned down to about 60 - 65% since it's just for seedlings & clones.
