Oh man, I spent several thousand dollars on all kinds if equipment when I first started. But now I don't 1/4 of it all. You can start a grow on a shoestring budget. The stuff I have learned over the course of the last several years would fill a good size book. You can make them (photoperiods and not autoflowers) bud when you want them to by switching the light to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness. You need to remember that a lot of them will double in size when you force them to bloom. So if you only have 4 feet to work with then you should switch them to bloom at 2 feet. Unless of course you do some training techniques. :thumb:

Hello there Dr Bob! My 420 was excellent. I hope that yours was awesome too. I had my light that close when they were just popped up and it was to close for the tiny seedlings. I moved it up and they are happy now. Thank you for stopping in and adding what you do to the discussion. :Namaste:

Im still poor man. with poor needs.

My next set will be turning one plant into auto flowering seeds. I ran out of seeds now. SO we going to try the collide silver trick on one limb to get some seeds for the bubblelious strain. I seem to like it. Nice relaxing buzz.

Grayhawk my friend, do you know what is funny to me? You wish you had fancy equipment and I on the other hand wish that I had not bought all that stuff. What I learned is that you can grow lots of excellent cannabis very cost effectively. You don't need to spend lots of cash for fancy grow things. The sales people saw me coming with stars in my eyes :hippy: and they sold me tons of stuff that I never use anymore. The wife told me that she wants to use the colloidal silver trick to make some autoflower seeds. So I am going to get some silver wires and make my own. I am sure that the Bubblelicious will be at least one strain I will make seeds for. :high-five:

just start the flower food in 2 or 2.5 weeks, i never start before , it is only my way, not the truth.

Well I got very blazed a couple of days ago and fat fingered and snapped the cotyledons off of the stem of the 60 Day Wonder. So I yelled at myself and put the cotyledons about half way into the soil. Watered the dickens out of the soil and put a small plastic semi-transparent cup over it. Today it is slightly above the soil. It looks like that it grew a new tap root. I am amazed and blown away. I hope that it makes it because that would be awesome. I still haven't watered them since I gave them a soak about a week ago. They look great and are growing like (dare I say it) weeds. :rofl:
 
Ouch... It happens like that sometimes: all we can do it repair and hopefully learn from it..
 
Hi CK, I just planted an auto pounder, she's a little older than yours and It's the first Autoflower I've ever seen. I have no exp. Only one grow before this and I burned the heck out of it. (It wasn't an Autoflower)I can smile about it now but then I cried.lol. It was bad but was able to salvage a little.
Sorry, I get to rambling on and on. Just wanting you to know I am sub'd and wishing you the best grow.

GrannyT, it is very nice to see you here. I have looked at the Auto Pounder and was tempted to buy some of them. But I have a ton of seeds left from many previous grows that I can't justify the expense at this time. I certainly will be interested in how the grow goes. Be sure and let me know when you start a journal. A journal is the best way to get started when just beginning. Posting pictures lets others see your plants so that we may observe them and offer advice if we see something going wrong. We also have https://www.420magazine.com/community/threads/over-50-club.170776/ for those of us over 50 or at least close. We hang out and swap tall tales and help other out. :welcome:
 
You will love it! I had one until my granddaughter accidentally dropped it. They are really awesome!

GrannyT, I am going to cut down an "auto pounder with cheese" later today. I've never seen a straight auto pounder, but my plant may give you an idea of what you will be looking at :) Autoflowers are very fun easy plants to grow. Just let them do their thing and you'll be pretty happy :)

Good luck on grow 1.5 :) Don't hesitate to ask any questions that may arise! :)

This was my last Northern Lights Autoflower grow. It is a few smaller buds of what is left of one small plant after smoking it and giving a lot away. There is less than half left of this wonderful plant. Northern Lights Auto is my personal favorite. It grew huge for me.
