Coloradokid Goes Brix In 2017

Your girls are looking amazing CK, despite whatever you might have done incorrectly. Love that Durban Relief. I love smoking my Durban Poison, and hope you will enjoy yours as much as I love mine.

Brother I am thinking about Organic Soil, don't know if you follow Blaze he is from Johannesburg up to the north in South Africa. He is using that soil and is getting good results. The kit is lovely but very expensive, would be about a quarter of the price that my lights would cost for just soil so still looking at making it easier but getting good results. We have a Freedom Farms supplier here in Stellenbosch which is pretty close about 30-40min drive. Might take my bike out there to them and buy a small bag to see how it gets on

Pat, its really not hard to make good organic soil. Of course I don't know everything that you would have available to work with where you live. I can offer up any help if you need it. I spent about 300 USA dollars to buy everything I used (and I used a lot of amendments ,you can certainly get by with a lot less stuff in your soil) and I will get at least 3 batches of soil from what I bought (minus new base mix and EWC for each batch). My batch size yielded me about 60 gallons of soil. 60 gallons will get me through about 6+ grows (depending on how big of containers I am using and how many plants). So from a cost perspective....probably 400 us dollars for 3-4 years worth of soil and no additional nutrient requirement. I would probably reduce my batch size by half the next time I mix....live and learn brother.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the kind words!

Does your Durban have a wonderful citrus smell at all? Mine have the most incredibly unique citrus smell that is just amazing!

Do you brew teas with your organic soil? When I amended my own soil a while ago before the kit, I also fed different teas to help to soil thrive and was wondering if ya did anything of that sort?

Mine has a very strong berry, some citrus, and some floral smells to it. I love how it has started smelling during the curing process.

I haven't really done a lot of teas. I have added some sea weed teas occasionally, as well as some fish fertilizer and kelp extracts. I have been looking at Recharge as well. Essentially I am looking to establish a rock solid soil, and then find the best ways to add to it occasionally throughout the grow to produce the best results.

I hate the idea of being a slave to my plants. I love being able to go 5 days without having to do anything to my plant if I don't want to (including watering). I love not having to measure a bunch of nutes and trying to figure out the sweet spot of each strain or plant. I love not having to collect and measure run off. I love the idea of watering every 5 days or so (depending on pot size.....3 days right now in my smaller 2-3 gallon pots). I love not having to do a flush to rid my meds of harsh taste. I love doing the work on the front end, mixing and making the organic soil as nutritious in the beginning and then not really needing to do much else if I don't want to.

Man oh man that looks like a candy shop in there! Sweet man. Only gunna get better too. :) what's ur favorite strain in there?

Right now the Skywalker is my favorite. But I think the Jillybean coming up might be up there. Also just put 6 holy grail kush seeds into water so those will be coming up soon!

I agree with all of that. Working smarter and not harder is always the goal.

I don't know if you've heard of key to life at all. They make different organic stuff like foliars and things for teas. You should look into them, might be able to add a thing or two to your organic regiment.

I really like the way this is written. I feel the same way when I'm with my plants. That's kind of why I went to Docs kit and now over to bigger pots. I can now grow easier, I have less to worry about and I can feed less often. ..

Update - 8/11/17 - Day 45 of Flower

What's up everyone, first of all id like to point out this is from last night.

Last night I have these girls a Transplant Drench. It happened to be their first... not good. I went back through my notes and realized I have kinda messed up a few things this cycle and would like to point them out..

First, when I was vegging these girls they never got a proper GE drench in their final 10 gals before flower. So that made me then give them a GE drench in the first week of flower instead of a Transplant Drench. Also like I mentioned above this should not be the first Transplant Drench but after the CAT series Drenches hit em with a GE an so now I'm just getting to Transplant again... oh well haha... I think that is why they don't look 100 % though

Anyways next time I will remember this and try to take care of these girls better.

oooh yeah I agree! I love see the concentrates that can come from those as well. And mix it with that stinky goodness.... can't beat that! :passitleft:

Nice! The Dutch Passion crew puts out something for everyone just about :) can't wait to harvest my Dutch duck seedlings. Really hard to name a favorite seed company but Dutch Passion could be it for me at this point. So many staple strains and then their duck work. They just seem to be so well rounded it's inspiring. Kinda like your tent. Looks inspiring :) thanks for the updates, mad jealous!

Many Things to Update!!

Today is Brix day!! Girls in flower and veg all got a nice Brix Breakfast lol. Flower girls got Snake Oil with their Brix as well.

Now onto the veg girls! Everyone is chugging along very nicely and I'm letting them dry until severe wilting occurs before they get water this time. Gotta get those feeder roots developed!

Have a great night everyone!!! :thumb:

Nice update CK! Also nice looking, clear rosin. I was doing a little research on presses and was wondering if you have any recommendations here. I am pretty clueless. Any that are solid presses that are a few hundred or less?

Thanks man, I haven't done too much research because this was done one my friends little press. He has a Nugsmasher mini that was $600 and it works great for pressing 2 or 3 grams of flower at a time. That being said I think you need to spend a few grand to get a quality press for pressing large amounts of bug. Me and a homie are throwing down on one and we are gonna drop like 3 or 4K on a Sasquash press. Thats about the length of my knowledge though haha

I am extremely hot and bothered by those buds Kid  killing it bro! That guy gotta do more updates too, LoL must be amazing smoking that pressed goodness. I have never experienced it before so maybe one day :passitleft: blessings and keep safe homie

Haha thanks man, they're looking tasty and so frosty its insane!! but if you're ever in Colorado give me ring and we will get super stoney on some rosin! Stuff is so so tasty man!!!

LoL I can only dream brother :passitleft: one day we sure will get high, I am going to be undergoing a change in my growing too so hopefully they look almost as nice as your girls

Oh yea we will man! One day! RoorRip

I saw your soil recipe, looks like you'll have some killer girls! The bud will probably be waaaay better than any bottles nutes could give ya too haha!

Makes it so much easier!! I love my plants, but I don't my life to revolve around the plants unless I choose for that to be the case.

Who is the breeder for your Skywalker?
