Coloradokid Goes Brix In 2017

Ah I see ya but even without being in the kit it was probably cool to watch and learn!

I'm thinking I'm going to build my SCROG 4.5' x 4.5' and about 36 inches tall. I'm thinking I'll just make it so the plants will be about 20 to 24 inches from the top soil to the net.

I'm not doing mine for a couple rounds. It'll be nice I can watch it through your journal! My POTM winner last month was grown under a ScrOG. Just love the evenness it brings to the colas if trained right. Glad to hear you are getting a better net this time. It makes a big difference then just those loose trellis nets most people use.

Oh shit Ase congrats on POTM, somehow I didn't see that.... That is awesome though, was it a AP?

Yeah those loose net scrogs don't do too much IMO and with a nice and tight net it will be way better to train these girls!

Thanks CK! It was my White Rhino from my first attempt with coco. I put it up twice and took 2nd twice. Wanted to submit my Chemdawg from this last run but would have been a week too late so I put up the White Rhino one last time and won. Didn't expect it. Kinda cool to have the little title by my name though. Who would have thought in a year right?

Good thing it was last month, pretty sure id already lose to two of them already submitted this month .. Sometimes timing is key!

Hell ya, that white rhino was definitely something but to do it on your first run in coco!!!! That is so so sick! Timing is definitely key, I will be entering some girls probably in 2 or 3 months when my HB girls are finishing

Veg Update - Built & Installed SCROG

Spent about $40 on this entire setup and it looks super nice! The dimensions are 4' 3/4" X 4' 3/4" and 30" tall

No doubt...that is solidly built and looks great!

Thanks Beavis, I ended up dropping the legs 2 inches so it is now 28 inches from the ground and about 20 inches from the top of the soil

Are you on any sort of a time crunch or will you be able to just let them grow into the net and train them? How far away from the tops of the plants is the net currently?

I want them to grow into it a bit. My Skywalker is at the net and my other plants are about 2 inches away. So I think 2 weeks until flip

I'd recommend trying to fill out the net to at least 50% (I go to 2/3rds) before I flip. If time isn't an issue I'd do that same. It might add another week onto your veg time but results will be worth it! Looks good man.

Sweet, I will keep that in mind. I remember you saying that in your journal somewhere and then I think you said you just keep filling the net the rest of the way after flip?

This trellis was definitely the move and way to go!

Yeah for about a week. Then I let it grow vertical.

Ok sweet, I'm not gonna rush and try to fill the canopy almost all the way before flip! Thanks for the help Ase!

You want them to be really even. If the two on the right are hitting the net but the two on the left aren't then I'd suggest putting something under the two on the left to prop them up a couple inches or lowering the net a couple inches and start spreading them out.

It's not essential but I always wanted to be training at the same time to get a real idea of how they fill out the net. Everyone uses the nets differently but I always liked keeping the distance between the net and the top of the soil as minimal as I could (without getting in the way of feeding or training, about 12-16 inches and trained the plants to be short and wide. It helps expose the lower growth to light so they get to the net resulting in more colas

Everyone is about at the net now after they got water yesterday and day before so they grew a bit. I see what you mean tho. That Skywalker just grows taller with more node spacing since she has that OG in her. I was just going to let them grow up through the net and do a bit of training but then once they get through the net a good ways then I'll go back and re train them to spread out.

Sweet work on the scrog Kid!! Loving the size of it. I also need to make a screen in a while, hopefully within next month I will get that going. Hope you have been well bru, have a blessed day :passitleft:

It was one of those things that I HAD to do if I was going to SCROG. Screw just tying the net to the poles, that sucks and isn't very tight either. Once I finally went to the hardware store and got everything that I needed, it was super easy haha
