Colombian Gold In Hydro By Gwhunran

Have you ran any of these light cycles before? What did you think?

I like running a 16 light/ 8 dark in veg. I haven't tried less than that. :hmmmm: I've ran 12/12 in flower with most hybrid strains:). I just follow the breeders advise on growing long flowering Sativas indoors and flip them to flower within 20 days of sprout. :) I like running 11 on/13 off with long flowering strains, :)and no matter which strains I run, I usually cut the light back a little near harvest.:hmmmm: Just the way, I've done it and it has worked.:) Bud in the jars.:cheesygrinsmiley::bong:
thanks or your info -- going to run these as you mentioned -- done sativa dominate strains but never 100% Sativa's - considering on just feeding Tea's - also I understand that "n" use should be watched and not used in flower. let pick your brain again: your nutrient use ?? (maybe terpinator in flower)

I haven't used it, so I can't say. :hmmmm:  I got KoolBloom (0-10-10) early on in hydro and use it to supplement K&P in flower. :) I never use the maximum amount for my reservoir size now, as I burnt some buds once. I was at the maximum amount recommended by GH for 17 gallons in either Mid or Late Bloom and added the maximum amount for 17 gallons according to the mfgs. chart. 😮 Never again.:( Maybe 2/3 of maximum and I work up to that. :hmmmm:

Colombian Gold
Day six veg.

Moved the four plants from the diy DWC into the flood and drain today. :)

Running both ACs at least during lights out. I think it can become part of my routine to turn on both at my afternoon check, when I also move the dehumidifier to the Golden Tiger room and close the partition between the rooms.
The irrigation pump in the reservoir is set on a mechanical timer to run every two hours for 15 minutes and drain back into the reservoir for the next one hour and forty five minutes.

The light is set 25 inches/ 63.5cm above the pvc tray cover. Power level is 200w, measures 35k lux at the cover.
The schedule is 16 on/8 off for light. Also on a mechanical timer.

looking good !!!! Dam my Columbian Gold didn't sprout (was a very old seed) going to soak a Malawi x Panama . sure hope this sprouts --But my Malawi has a 1/2 sprout and ready to plant in solo cup - just need the panama to sprout
I would have liked to have some of those seed we so carelessly threw away in the 70s.😯 I hung on to some good ones for years but life happened and they were never planted.

Some N is sometimes needed but I would say start with very little if you have a deficiency. CL🍀

Colombian Gold
Day 7 veg.

The grow area is running normally.

The closure between grow areas is shut at the late afternoon check and both ACs are on during lights out. The GT gets the dehumidifier as they are in flower.
At the morning check, the closure is opened and the AC in the GT room is shut off as they are getting the CO2 and it being a few degrees warmer in there would probably help.

The CG is continuing to look good. The roots should start really spreading out during the dry cycles in the tray as they search for water. Once they hit that magic moment, the plants seem to really take off.

I bumped the light power up to 300w with no change in height..

Day 8 veg.

The grow area is running normally.

The reservoir is only having top ups, once a day vice twice a day. As they drink more, the top up frequency will increase.

The PH is staying in the desired 5.8-6.2 range.

The plants are looking good but haven't hit the growth spurt yet.

The plants are adding a little bit to their growth. Still looking good.

Day 10 veg.

The grow area is running normally.

Reservoir is doing fine with one top up per day. The plants aren't drinking much yet and the PH is staying in the desired range.

The current reservoir will most likely go two weeks before changing. No big hurry.

In the not too distant future the CO2 bucket will be moved into the Colombian Gold grow. Waiting on them to take off. The Golden Tiger should be a screen filler CO2 or not.

The plants continue to look healthy. It won't be much longer until the hydro burst of growth. :bong:

I just noticed on mine that the new growth is all 3-fingered. I guess the mother was closer to flower than I thought ;)

Day 12 veg.

The grow area is running normally.
We have been in a hot spell around here. I'm running both ACs until it passes.:hmmmm::bong:

The plants are looking good. Their color looks a deeper green and I believe they may be starting to take off a little.:)

A good place to get seeds ? just soaked one from World of Seeds (Columbian Gold) NO germination !!
I would have to go back and look it up. But, I believe @LKABudMan planted several seeds with the intention of running plants from seed in his four plant RDWC. I think only one sprouted and he made it a mother. We are just now running the clones from the sole sprouted mother seed. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yea, I got five seeds from Herbies (via World of Seeds). In hindsight, I kept the seed pods too wet and only two of them made it. I gave one to a 420 friend (hey @RedskinnedRhino what's up! ) and kept the other as a mother.
