Same, i was buying more and more for my wife's back pain and it was getting too expensive! It became medical legal here and she gets some from the dispensary but if she were getting all of her meds there I would need to sell a kidney LOL. The medical stuff here is $50 for 1/8 oz! So we've got our own little medical garden in the garage to accommodate.
I must say we had a blast in Scotland, spent a week in Dundee and had enough ironbru to keep me awake for days LOL

Hahaha Scotlands other national drink 'IRN-BRU ' next to whisky lol when were you in Scotland ? As London decided to tax our sugar here and all drnks companies changed their recipes with less sugar in them, but they have relented and made a 1 off batch of original recipe at twice the price it was sold out within hours lol

We were visiting some friends there while on a tour of europe two summers ago.
As for strains, if you like vaping then perhaps a tasty strain like tangerine dream, mango, blueberry, pineapple Express. If you're worried about height and don't mind feeling sleepy maybe a nice compact indica like some northern lights or afghani

I was built for Scotland. Pasty white guy, thick, hairy, and a taste for scotch. Handle cold crappy weather. Its been my main vacation destination for at least 20 years and its getting closer to happening. I will visit at least 1 of my favourite scotch distilleries and a couple pubs for sure. If I don't end up half drunk in a kilt having a two handed sword fight in front of a castle...someone is gonna be cranky. Barely kidding. My boys will be tasting the sweet free air of Scotland before I die.

It sounds like you'll be doing a stealth grow - so autoflowers are something you should consider because they are quick to harvest and perform well in cooler climates.

You'll also likely want to avoid long flowering Sativas that like the heat.

Anyway, good luck - and I hope you start a grow journal here when you get up and going.

Srry to hear aboot yer mrs, but this may cheer you's up a wee bit, when you were in Dundee 2yrs or so ago the "IRN-BRU" you tasted was the original recipe mmmmm miss it alot and wee bit of trivia for you here, theres only 3 ppl in the world who know that secret recipe lol

Hi Dr Canna yes stealth would be a requirement as I live in a terrace house with a house either side and noise would need to be a major factor so probably have to overkill on that issue, I will start a journal even tho the mrs made another attempt at dissuasion this morning but stuck too my guns ha ha.

Looks just what I need m8 ty I'm a joiner so building that wouldn't be a problem only thing would be access for daily watering etc rented property so cant butcher anywhere I'd like too
Your set up looks pretty neat top notch job very nice, hopefully I can replicate that, I have been up to the loft today and sussed it out, not much height tho possibly 4ft at lowest to 5 and half feet at highest over7ft in length and 4ft deep. That's on 1 side of the loft hatch on the other side its a bit of a mess, old water tank and pipe work, also definitely need a ladder hatch as scrambling up not feasible everyday, and the floor needs decked out first, so is it possible yes I think so but needs a clear out first. Here's some photos of the loft and possible garden shed site which measurements are possible 7ft deep x 12ft wide x 7ft high exterior dead sizes. Just arrived my new fury edge baler got the small black grinder with the box nice but tiny same as the vape very discreet

Hi pennywise, well 2 options either my loft which is freezing during winter usually or build a shed oot ma back garden also Freezing lol thats it I'm afraid.
Welcome aboard the freezing brits 420 train fella. exactly same issue so I went for loft and never looked back. I have some useful islanders tips for you if you need them Buddy. ( and I am trying to develop my highland contact lists for the migration !!.lol)
I grow in a freezing loft in winter and a deadly one in summer but have found ways to acclimatise it with cheap double sided insulation wrap. This stuff is amazing mate. cheap as pish too. line the whole space your using from floor to ceiling, front to back too like a giant insulated box and seal it with the silver tape . add a velcro flap by overlapping the front bit And your done. Add vent holes where you plan them to go in and out.

Cheap 2-way thermal blanket ( and harder to see from above with flir. I use an anti flir sheet on the roof 1st to be sure !) . you can then control your environment a lot better or add a loft tent to further insulate it. My room is a temp build ( 4th grow now that I have had to dismantle due to council work !!!!) but my plan is to do the same thing and add the tent to size too. This stuff is dam good for keeping head out of buckets from lights too. kept my dwc temps at 19 in summer. Happy to help as you go if you need it . have a good day bud

Looks like it'll do the trick!
:high-five:

I'll definitely tag along to watch the build. Feel free to pick my brain along the way. I'm on here every day, lurking.... reading....
LoL
:nomo:

Lol will do m8 I was planning on venting out through the soffit to cause least amount of damage
Just remember... in cold outdoor temps, that exhaust will stand out like a sore thumb. The warm air will show as steam at that area of soffit.

Running a sealed room is possible (that's how I run) but you need to buy gear to control all aspects of the environment. A/C, Heat, Humidifier, and Dehumidifier.... it gets pricey, but very effective if you can chip away at it item by item over time. That's how I've built all of my grow rooms.

The other option would be to duct your exhaust to an area of the loft with the highest headroom. Exhaust it low, so the cool airspace between where you exhaust, and the roof, will mask any heat signature.

Is it possible to vent at top of room and just run it down then along to the eaves on both sides and they could heat the outside but inside the roof hence heating the whole loft kinda n take fresh air from the soffit vent

On the flip-side, during the winter months, if you find your room to run hot, you can pick up a cheapo ($20) "inline duct booster" fan and pull cold air from the soffit and duct into room. Kind of a redneck a/c of sorts. LoL

Could limp ya by in a pinch. It's all about moving the air where you need it
