Cola Monster's Perpetual Solo Cup Grow Feat: ViparSpectra's P2000's x 2

Hey @Cola Monster - trailblazer of Solo SiPs OG of the SS… actually lets stick to Solo Master.

Question for you if I may - have you ever had an issue with root lock out in a solo? I’m doing some under HPS basically outdoors and so def have heat stress but the two Solo Sips Blueberry/Gorilla Glue are wearing it hardest. Their sisters for comparison are in normal solos holes punctured to be a baby airpot. These are all fine same strains and more.

The two solo sips with onviously less grow medium to account for the res are clawing and folding inwards at the top and yellowing at the bottom. Middles look ok 😅

Any thoughts/experiences?

Nick

Here’s a photo of the most stressed one. She’s 23” plus the cup for 28”. Royal Gorilla. Her sister in an airpot is wide leafed and darker green.

The Gnome does all the work @Cola Monster just pays the light bill.:green_heart::goodjob::nicethread::cool:

My chiropractor does some kind of massage on the back of my neck and head that has been the best thing so far. That and knowing my upper body use limits so I don't piss it off as often.
Hey Stone,
Unfortunately I don't have insurance that will cover the cost of a chiropractor so I just tough it out as usual hoping for the best.;)

How's it going Nick?
I've never had any problem whatsoever with root lock out as you call it but then again I've never grown a plant in a solo cup outdoors before which I'm sure needs to be watered at least a half dozen times per day if not more to keep it living. I'm strictly indoors when it comes to growing in solo cups so I can control the environment which is key to keeping the plants from getting stressed.

Hope that helps in someway and have a great day mate!

Hey CM, hope you're feeling better!
:green_heart:
Thanks Shed, much appreciated my friend!:thanks:
It cooled down a bit over the past couple days here so that helped out big time. Hope it stays that way for a while!:thumb:

Thanks! Yeah its a bit of a puzzle. They’re indoors. Pretty much. Tent in the carport. Watering is ok as I put irrigation in. I’m leaning towards a SIP related issue. Its just that one plant now. The others in a classic solo (plus one more SIP) are all fine.

We’ll see more tomorrow. Pulling all out for a trim a fewdays before flipping to flower.

A few shots of my three smallest outdoor girls which are in 1 gallon plastic pots that I then put inside of cloth Geopots to keep the root system from baking.:lot-o-toke:

:Namaste:

I can certainly see why you had to brick those in given the plant to pot width ratio (for a change ;) ).

They're looking lush!
Thanks Shed!:thanks:
Two of the plants blew over a couple times in the mid afternoon winds so I had to brace them up with bricks as a temporary support system.;) Hope they stay put until harvest!

Lovely ladies outdoors Mr. Monster!

I can chiropract you. I've been to enough of them to know the basics. It's pretty much all about inflicting pain where pain already exists.

Insulation from the heat.
Interesting, I thought that the cloth layer was for insulating the plastic. I would have thought the plastic would keep heat in.

They're lovely, CM. What do you like about the plastic, why not plant directly into cloth pots?
Thanks Carmen!:thanks:
I like to use the 1 gallon plastic pots early on in veg. since it's easier to transplant the gals to bigger pots later on, well normally that is. I had no extra soil handy at that time so here they stay until harvest day!;)

Hope all is well and have a great night!:Namaste:

That makes sense, thank you, and have a good night too :)
