Cola Monster's Perpetual Rock 'n' Roll Grow Journal

CRAP!
How did I miss this? I've been wanting to follow another outdoor grow. For some reason I thought you were going to sit this year out. I wish I had time to go back to the beginning and get up to speed. As it is, I'm going to sit in the corner and soak up as much as possible.

:passitleft:

Welcome Major!:welcome:

OK... WOW!!! :adore:

Have you discussed your soil in this journal? I'd love to know more about it. Can you point me toward a post or two?
CM, you are rocking it in and out.

:bravo:

Hey Major!
I don't have any specifics on the soil I use posted in this journal anywhere which is just a store bought brand called "Royal Gold Plus Basement Brand" that comes in a blue bag & you can most likely find on the internet if interested. It's a nice fluffy mix that's not to hot or porous and I've used for many years now with no problems whatsoever. I was a big FoxFram fan back in the day but found out it way to hot for the babies and I also didn't like the way it hard panned so I decided to go with another brand.
And as far as my ground dirt goes well that's what they call a sandy loam for the top 4" or so then below that there's a rich dark soil that the girls absolutely love once getting their roots into it & why the grow so darn big.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day mate!:Namaste:

^ Thanks for the info! ^
I'll stop bugging you soon...maybe. :cheesygrinsmiley:
When the weather gets hot and your girls are in pots, do you do anything other than watering, to keep from cooking the roots? Even with white fabric draped over my softpots and extra water for them, I have a feeling I'm going to make some cannabis root stew next week. :thedoubletake:

No problem at all Major being I can't go outside for more than 15 minutes time without passing out from the heat.:phew:
And now that you mention it I was looking for some type of burlap wrap the other day to help keep the roots cool but couldn't find anything online that fit my purposes. I could try wrapping them in white plastic to see if that might help or some kind of fabric as you said & I may look into doing when it cools down a bit.
I'm also thinking about buying some tan colored 20 gal. Geo-Pots to transplant them into before they start to flower which shouldn't be for another month or so & gives me time to get it done it wanting. Options, options!:)

I love the modesty cm by not mentioning that this is only one of your two greenhouses that also don't include your indoor set ups lmao YOU FUCKIN ROCK!!! (excuse the language I found it to be necessary )

:bigblush:

Damn uppotting to a 20? No thanks.. Don't want no part of that sir... I'd rip half of it apart trying...

:Namaste:

I've been going from 7's to 25's. No fun, and not again.

Morning Lester!
That's funny what you wrote a...... I'm tired of climbing up on ladders every year to inspect my plants. :high-five:

Wait ... what? "climbing up on ladders to inspect my plants"; ummmm wow, I wish I had that problem! Nice buds there buddy.:thumb: Very nice indoor colas .. I see where you're getting your nick from. :high-five:

Nice setup for outdoor too.. I'm thinking about something like that. Would your outdoor greenhouse be bear proof or close to it! You know how bears can get?

Cheers & keep um green.

Hey bobrown14!
It may not be bear proof since I've seen first hand the damage they can do when camping at Yosemite as a kid but it's definitely human proof with thick chain linked fencing surrounding both my greenhouses. Better safe than sorry as they say!:)

It's not the most sanitary method, but straw in a mound around the pots insulates them well. Burlap and/or white fabric pinned around the circumference helps too. Don't forget to mulch the soil surface.

All great ideas Heirloom!:thumb: And thanks by the way for the well thought out explanation about how greenhouses function. Couldn't have said it better myself if at all actually as I just erected it than went to work with no real thought process as to it's design.:welldone::thanks:

Evening all!:high-five:
Just posting some pre-harvest shots of my Jade Dragon plant before she gets the chop. Four more big girls to go then its onto the solo cup plants. Enjoy!:volcano-smiley:
