CND420's First Quality Grow - White Rhino - Soil - Indoor

From an article.. it may apply?
1. Over-fertilizing - the most common cause of leaf cupping aka leaf margin rolling, leaf margin burn, and leaf tip curl/burn is the overzealous use of too much plant food in relationship to factors such as plant vigor and rate of growth. The first unit of a plant to show moisture stress is the leaf at its margins and/or tips, reflected by margin rolling (cupping) or burning. A hard, crispy feel to the leaf frequently occurs as well, as opposed to a soft and cool feel of a happy leaf. When you have a high concentration of salts in solution (in the root medium) compared to the salinity levels found in the plant’s tissue, water is actually drawn out of the plant across the root gradient in order to fix the ppm imbalance. IOW, this is a natural, osmotic response that serves to equalize salinity levels on both sides of the root’s epidermal gradient. Back off on the amount and/or frequency of plant food. Too much plant food can also burn the roots, especially the sensitive root tips, which then creates another set of problems. Note - as soil dries, the concentration of the remaining salts rises further exacerbating the problem.

ok so after getting back to my laptop i looked up the plant abuse thread here on 420, im back and forth either n overload or zinc what do you think and what should I do about it

I would flush...

If I flush, I always (well most the time) check the runoff. Flush until the runoff is where you want it. I shoot for 7 ish runoff (I use plain water that is 7 PH to 8 PH) that way I know I have completely cleared all I can clear at this flush. That doesn't necessarily mean that your soil PH won't be low the next time you check it. So, keep checking the PH.

Let us know if the plant or buds start to smell a little funny or lose dankness over next couple days if you havent noticed yet already

should i give it a couple of days that zinc overload says its fatal idk just nervous thinking of flushing and just finishing off the flush with a low dose 1/4 or 1/2 strength nutes just cause im flushing the nutes out and im flowering mixed with some super thrive and cal mag but im hesitant to go either way its a toss up both directions feel risky in fing up the end product

It's really hard to say. I delt with this problem before during flower with one of my sativas & it wasn't pretty. I couldn't find the problem nor fix it. It was during my first grow with it. I just came to the conclusion that the plant was way to stressed for some reason and prematurely finished way before it was time. I also defo the plant before flowering it so there were no stored nutes for it to hang on. It was in soil as well. The buds start smelling funny as well. The dankness slowly went away

So I'm running with stress sativas are funny acting with it.

Ok I'm gonna do it tell me what u think. I'm gonna use this product i have called royal flush and will run 5 gallons of 6.5 water with this flush then i will let a gal of this nute mix 1 tsp tiger bloom 1 of molasses 1 of cal mag and 1/4 tsp of super thrive, do u think thats to much the were just fed but flushing takes all that away idk just want to be sure that i don't put to much on em i need these to be good smoke even if not for profit i still need meds may just have to hustle the money somwhere else not wanting to have the last 3 1/2 months be a major dissapoint ment

honestly if you want my honest opinion, I would let it ride and continue to regular water. If you do add nutes add half/full nutes your choice. I know FF Big Grow/Bloom is fast acting so i would just feed regular. You just have to take in consideration that you dont know if there could be a root problem and flushing it may make it worse. Like I said I came across a problem like this before and it didnt end nice. I did and tried everything and couldnt fix the problem. It only happens with Sativas. So the choices I shoulda made is below.

So my opinion would be to reveg.
1.) you can wait until you harvest and reveg the plant by leaving some buds on the plant.
2) Reveg the plant now.

I know it sucks but some times you have to make a boss move in growing and this would be one of them. If you reveg at a time like this you can get the plant healthy the way you want it and then when you flower again I hear it will produce way more alot more. I would like you to have your cake and eat it to. Just my 2 cents though.

By the way super thrive is super expensive and Liquinox b-1 is the same thing and alot cheaper. $20 per gallon. Look it up :thumb:

LET IT GROW>>>and water it....good job wiz!

good weed cnd, hope you get them girls sorted out!
fingers are crossed and sending positive vibes your way.

How it is CND?!?! Have toured flushed yet? I'm at work and I was thinking that if you do flush, use epsom salts between 250-400ppm. It has a little micro nutes so your babes still get something but it'll flush the rest of the stuff out and give you a clean slate.

well i flushed like 10 gallons of water through these girls, reason being, 1st off the zinc toxicity scared the shit out of me lol, secondly my gut said it was best, and thirdly i found out my ph meter is way the hell off came across my old ph test drops and tube decided to do it old school just for shits and giggles and my shit was at like a 4 my digital tester said 7 so.... I think i figured out my issue my ph meter blows and i top off with 1/2 strength nutes and let them drip all night in the bathtub hopefully it isnt to late for these girls to produce theyve already shown signs of improvement.. Thanks to all who helped me through this shit and i didnt use epson salt cause i have no way to gauge ppm but i did use royal flush at recommended dose thas suppose to be just as effective according to the local grow shop but who knows if they were just trying to sell me something more expensive.... well it worked lol I bought it. keeping fingers crossed ill post some more pics after a day or 2 see how they progress out of this funk god i hope they aint hurt to bad and if they do then i got the next round working already AK 47 is doing quite well to be just rapping up its first week of flower cant wait untill it hits full bloom :)

good luck cnd:cheertwo:

thanks man I need it im just trying to feel my way through this hard to do though when im not sure what my girls are telling me. I just study learn try to make an informed gut decision, hell its all a game of chance anyhow and chances are im going to still get some good smoke from these ladies just maybe not as much as Id hoped for but anything is better than nothing I already got the next generation running so.. im going to let these girls finish im about out of room every where I can stick a plant lol just trying to get something decent established the next round is looking so much better than these did at a week in which its only one plant but shes going to be a good one nice n bushy havent defoiled this time took a couple of fan leave but left bulk of em I think I may have taken a dozen leaves in this plants life span and got 4 clones from her too.. 100% success from this one the white rhino just dont like to be cloned only a 25% success rate there but hey its still a success im getting better by god and I can feel it more confident in what I do with the and girls now just love having people to bounce ideas off of and get opinions hones ones and very little negativity on these forums man im loving it you guys make this forum rock love being here and feels like ive moved on in I live here now lol :) great scenery though

Best way to grow any plant is dont touch them and let them do there thing :thumb:

Agreed now that i got a little experience under my belt i know better but was trying to listen to my main customer but now its like if u know so much why the f arnt u growing kind of thing dudes lost when i start talking plant now lol but yeah i took a couple misshaped leaves other than that i topped it once trained it a little then topped all my tops again and now i got a small shrub throwing pistils out like wild fire its good shit

Yea i found that topping multiple times will bring about maturity and sexing faster. My first grow I think I topped this plant over 30x. Of course me being a noob at that point I cheated my self out of a good harvest because I cut it down early. Way to early. I think that wouldve been my first lb plant. I vegged her for 3-4 months.

Need you say more oh good Sir Fish :Namaste:

nope:)

yeah defenently sexed quicker than the other plants still waiting in fact on the other three and this ones going nuts :thumb:

alright guys, im doing most of my work in the grow room at night now under a green lights due to the fact my kids are now out of school and im not prepared to explain to my 8 year old honor student daughter why daddy has pot plants in his closet, That being said I cant say for color wise cause under green light hell it all looks green but I have noticed a dramatic increase in density for a 24 hr period and my god i barely squeezed one of the buds and its still dense dank goodness but it was like I was grabbing a clue stick it was tacky as hell left me sticking my fingers together and sniffing the dank goodness that still lingers on my fingers :) so heres hoping things continue on this track and im soon to invest in a combo meter so I can get my ppms as well.

King john you mentioned the calibration solution but how do I use it there not any adjustments or zero buttons on this meter its a 4 in 1 sun-leaves digital tester it tells ph temp light and moisture in the soil. should I just can it or can it be recalibrated this is a picture of my tester
